Not sure how I feel about this car wash. I have never visited any other to be fair. So I have nothing to compare it to. What I mainly like is they have free vacuums and clean towels to use. They also have many stations so even when busy you are always guaranteed a spot. Now for the actual car wash I get the $10 and honestly most times the car come out the exact same way as it looked before washing it Usually it is fun sitting in the car watching the machines doing their thing but yesterday the smell of mold was so intense! After a sushi happy hour, I decide to do a little exercise to burn a few calories and give my baby jeep a bath. I've driven pass carwash America a number of times but never went in before. Since i saw very good reviews about them, I decide to give it a try today. Upon arrival, my car was pre-washed by a staff who took my credit card and charged $5 with NO TAX. Awesome! I then put my car on neutral and entered the tunnel to enjoy the ride. Not too long after, my car came out super clean and shinny. I am pretty sure he enjoyed his long overdue bath and no it is not rain water this time. I then gave my car a head to toe vacuum with no extra cost and left very satisfied. And you can trust the tunnel to do a good job, I've seen several high end cars come in and out of this car wash lookin' like a million bucks (some literally). If you're not the type to trust your car's cleanliness to someone else there are five or so self-service bays that give you the usual options of soaps, waxes, a foaming brush and high pressure washes. Everything you need to get rid of the dirt on your ride. Finally, don't forget that this place offers FREE VACUUMS! Used their service for the first time and I'm happy with the results. Coming from a road trip in my Tesla I had a lot of bugs on the front. I appreciate a staff member honestly saying their automatic system will not remove the bugs completely and sure enough it didn't. So I went ahead knowing that. But the end result, on an $18 wash with wax, was great. I just had to wash off the bugs by hand and my car looks sparkling new. I'm considering getting a membership. read more

For ten bucks, you get a drive through the wash, a hand dry and tire dressing. I tip the tunnel guy two bucks and the wipe-down/tire dressing guys a five spot. So, for a total of $17, I get a Wash Tub level of clean without the long waits and frustrating experience at virtually every. single. Wash Tub. location. After you get your car washed, hand dried and tire dressed, then pull into a vacuum stall and use the free vacuums to finish the job. Buh-bye Wash Tub. And, if you do have extra time, you can pay $17 (plus tip, if you are so inclined, and you should be so inclined) for a full service interior and exterior treatment that is at least three times faster than the Wash Tub and at the same level of attention to detail. Easily a five star experience in both the pocketbook and ease of use. If you haven't given it a try, you should. Heck, I drive all the way across town a couple times a month just for the $$ savings and ability to be in and out in less than 15 minutes. Try that with any Wash Tub location on a Saturday afternoon. I live within a mile of this place and have always passed it but never went in for whatever reason! I bought a brand new car and have been obsessing about keeping it clean, so I wash it inside and out once every two weeks or more depending on my mood. :) This wasn't where I usually went to clean my car, I went to the car wash on Huebner & Vance Jackson, but I decided to try something new. I was seriously in shock because you can vacuum for free. This is probably one of my favorite parts about this car wash establishment because I spend probably $3-4 on vacuuming when I go to an ordinary car wash, and I always tend to rush because I only bring a limited number of quarters with me. So it's nice to make sure you get every little nook and cranny in your car without worrying about running out of time! ;) I'm really weary about going through an automatic car wash, especially with having a new car because I'm afraid it'll get scratched. I did decide to suck it up and try it, I almost had a heart attack going through though because I was panicking my car was going to get scratched or just look really ugly afterwards. But it was the complete opposite, it looked brand new. I drove up, $5 in hand, gave it to the guy.. he pushed in my side view mirrors and put plastic shields on my window wipers. I then drove up again to another guy who proceeded to clean my back windows and front windows, put my car in neutral and just relax and wait for the wash to be complete. It's so simple, it costs $5 and your car will look amazing afterwards! Seriously awesome! Then afterwards you can go and vacuum your car for free. For a $5 car wash, this is amazing! It's a long car wash that gets difficult to remove dirt off, the staff is friendly and helpful and the free vacuums are fantastic. Love this place, so much better than other car washes that are showing up around San Antonio. And you can't beat the price! My only complaint would be the sales rep that consistently comes up to your car while you are trying to vacuum to check your window for chips (marking up your freshly cleaned window with a marker) and then trying to sell you a fix for it. read more

I was walking to the bathroom as one of your employees, who does the rims and interior cleaning, kept making "ts ts ts" sounds. That same employee came up to my car, my dog started barking which made me lift me head up to see what he was barking at (he only barks when men approach me & dogs), as soon as I did this he put his phone up to his ear; most likely he may have been taking pictures as I was vacuuming my car. Lastly, I was super irritated at this point and kept lifting my head up and could see from a far that he had his phone point in my direction. I stared him down to make it known that I knew he was watching and either taking pictures or a video, which then he lift his head from his phone and turn around quickly to put it back to his ear as if, again, he was talking to someone. I do like this car wash but this employee has ruined my experience and I will be looking for a different car wash as of today. I'm not taking the time to inform any manger because in my experience there is not corrective action taken with the employee. It should also be a standard that employees are presentable. The bathroom is gross too. Women shouldn't feel creeped by an employee. I should feel safe cleaning my car. This is unacceptable. read more

As good as it gets. Way beyond expectations. The quality at most car washes today is in decline. The attitude at most car washes these days is "your car is washed now get the f*ck out of here" with no attention to detail. These guys go above and beyond. The guy drying my car inspected the front. He saw bird caca residue and really worked at removing the residue. He wasn't satisfied with the residue removal and had me run my car through the wash again. That never happens these days. So I have a membership in Austin but needed to clean my car after a road trip and came here for the $5 exterior $5 bug removal. I was totally shocked by the price I ended up spending $18 before tip for just the outside. Granted they did a really good job and it looked great. But I was shocked because I pay 60 a month for interior/exterior rainX and armorall complete and I can go there everyday if I want usually it's 2x a week but still. So yea it was a lot more expensive than I was used to but I don't think it was too outrageous for a single wash, they should include the interior for those who want it at that price. But all in all if you want a good wash I recommend it. I am picky, that's why I tip so well, but I would go back. read more

As noted in other reviews, this was a quick in and out experience. I didn't see any signs with pricing or service options, which seemed weird, and aside from the sign to the drive through tunnel posted near the back it's not real clear what the flow is (check in with someone first, pay first, get in line at the tunnel, ...?). You actually have to drive to the back, past the lot full of free self-service vacuum stations, to get to the start of the car wash line. I ended up approached the only guy I saw in the dry down area to get the scoop. Pricing was much higher for interior/exterior service ($30 vs $15-$20) than what I've experienced in Dallas but I don't know the going rate is in SA. I opted for exterior only for $12 and stayed in the car through the tunnel. The vacuum stations are positioned at the end of the tunnel before you exterior wipe down area, which seemed a little backward. By the time I was done vacuuming, the exterior was nearly dry. Still, the guy who did the wipe down did a nice job, including the tire dressing. When I pulled out I found another car wash right down the street on Huebner with posted prices visible from the street. Might try that one next time I'm in town. read more

You can do better. Maybe I've just been spoiled with my usual car wash (Diamond Shine)... Who knows. What I do know is that this car wash is just ok at best. The basic wash will run you $5 but then it jumps up to $9 for what? A little tire shine? This place is a bit tricky for the first time customer. When you pull into the line you are expecting a machine to purchase your car wash. Not the case here. At Carwash America you wait until you're at the front and then you hand your payment (cash/card) over to an attendant that runs it. Me no like. The basic wash was just ok. After finishing I noticed my wheels weren't as clean as they should have been and there was a few dirty areas that are normally taken care of at my usual car wash. Also, the blow dryers at Carwash America really blow. My car had a lot of water left on it after exiting the car wash. Thank goodness for I-10. Lastly, and again I think I've been spoiled by my usual car wash), I don't like having to drag the vacuum hose through my car particularly when it's been left on the ground, and has dirt and water all over it. Diamond Shine gives you two vacuums, one on each side. If you're in the neighborhood and desperately need a car wash, this place will do. However, if you've got a few minutes, drive on over to Babcock to Bubble Bath (still just one vacuum) for a superior wash and better value. read more

There's no more $5 wash, it's now quadruple the price and even after running my car thru there, it was only an incremental improvement in the appearance of my car. It's okay for the price to go up, but the quality should go up with it. This is also a good opportunity to warn you of the dangers of gift cards at businesses like this - I had purchased their $80 promo (get $100 worth of washes for $80) and now I'm going to be running thru those a lot faster. It would seem like there should be some sort of accord on their end to honor what was offered at the time of the package being purchased, but that's business today - companies want more money while stiffing loyal customers and investing the least amount into their operations/stores. read more

Very friendly service. The man who works the tunnel is always very patient with me and explains what each wash includes because I can never remember. The tunnel is the best I've found in San Antonio. Even just the basics $5 wash through the tunnel gets my car squeeky clean, even the wheels. I usually upgrade and pay double, $10, to have it hand dried and armor all put on the tires. This is by far the best car wash I have been to in the country. Ive done plenty of automatic car washes but have never been that satisfied unless I was paying an arm and a leg. I was skeptical of coming here since it was only $5 but I did not leave disappointed. My car had been pretty dirty and afterward it looked brand new. I think the pre-wash/pre-scrub helps a ton. Alot has changed in 10 years from the Wash Tub to Car Wash America. I searched and tried to check in on the Bandera location no dice it wasn't springing up. But I'd like to say they've totally condensed there man power down to about 5 guys. They have an exterior wash for 10.00 plus 2.00 for ??? Also a 19.00 complete exterior and interior package. Before you'd pull up to guys vacuuming ur vehicle asking what you need done and sending you inside where u could sit and wait. It's totally different now.. Those guys are gone! Now you drive around, pay as u sit in ur vehicle,one man sprays the degrease and scrubs the bugs off.. And u put ur ride in neutral and ur on your way.At the end of the drive thru car wash are two to three guys... Tip them well and they'll do a great job. Dennis is pretty good at what he does there. After there done you can drive around( in case u get there late) and vacum your own vehicle for free. There about 7 vacuum hoses maybe more which means no waiting no going to the coin dispenser, just quick and ez. Enjoyed my time there and you should swing by there or any one of there locations....It was great! No problems... Tell you what those guys had me laughing! There a bunch of jokes! In a good way, it was like comedy hour there. This car wash is fantastic if you have kids. At get-out-of-the-car-type washes it can be a pain to unbuckle all the children, remove valuables from the car, load up any extra crap and then wait...and wait for the car to be ready. At car wash america just hand over $5 before going into the tunnel. An attendant scrubs any bird poo off, folds the mirrors in, and places plastic covers over the back wiper. Make sure to put the car in neutral and trust me don't use the footbrake. The OCD in me kept pushing the footbrake once my car was on the ramp and I got yelled at (sorry!). I LOVE that this is a professional style car wash, but no need to get out of the car. Better yet, the kids can see all of the brushes/water etc and think it's an adventure. Afterward the vacuums are free! This gives plenty of time to suck up the pounds of goldfish, cheezits and the random legos under the seats. There are normally tons of other people around, so it doesn't seem sketchy or scary like what I normally associate with do it yourself carwash set ups. I usually keep Armorall wipes in the car to do an interior wipe down of all the car dust to make it feel extra clean. For $5 it's a great option to get the car clean if you don't mind doing the vacuuming on your own. read more

10/10 recommend. Came to get the seats in my cars cleaned as they seats have been stained for some time now. They charged me $80 for all the seats and also cleaned the rugs. I believe the man who cleaned my cars name was Tony. He did a GREAT job of getting all the stains out of my light covered seats and they look brand new! Even offered me multiple car scents after he put them around the car. Wonderful experience and I went early in the morning around 9 and was out by 10:45.
