Excellent salon immediately upon my first visit, I was greeted by the owner and made to feel comfortable. Caryn asked me if I wanted tea or coffee and introduced me to Torrie who became my operator. She is young aggressive and quite knowledgeable in the profession she is in. She observed my hair color and suggested what she thought would make an improvement. I took her suggestion and am thrilled with the outcome. The salon itself is warm and welcoming especially with all the pretty decorations at Christmas time. Highly recommend this salon. read more

What sets Caryns apart is it can be one stop shopping for the whole fam- while you're getting your hair transformed by my hairstylist Carly (who we will come back to later)- Caryn can be working on your husband, and one of the other masterful stylists can be working on your kid. Score! My review will center the most on Carly- who can be working on 3 other people at the same time, but gives you her strict attention to make sure your experience is perfect. I've been going to this salon for 6 years now! I usually see Carly for cuts, styling, and dying my hair. She is literally amazing at what she does! She has been able to take my dark brunette hair and highlight it and balayage it without it looking bad. She was also able to get me back to my dark roots when I didn't want blonde anymore. I used to go to salons in Newark for years. Their work on my hair was ok sometimes, I was never amazed by it but what really bothered me was how unprofessional they were. The minute the client would leave the salon they would talk really bad about them even using very inappropriate language in front of other clients! After a bad experience at another salon in Lyndhurst, I found caryn & co on Instagram. I looked at Carly's posts and new that she had to do my hair. Back in May I had asked for a balayage, and got botched highlights that were all uneven and left my hair damaged, with an uneven haircut and undercut. The highlights turned orange and no matter what I did, I couldn't cut the brassiness out. I made an appointment with Carly and didn't have to wait months to see her. She fixed my color and gave me a deep conditioning treatment to fix the damage, and gave me the best cut I've ever had. She transformed my hair in under two hours and was so sweet. I'm getting married in March and will definitely be getting my hair done by her before then and on my wedding day! read more
