A very fun and informative short tour that concludes with a mixology course where an expert teaches the art of the Mojito and the daiquiri. Staff and service are friendly and knowledgeable on the rum making production process and Bacardi family history. The casa Bacardi grounds are actually on a wildlife preserve and you can expect to see some creatures roaming around. I think $90 is a little pricey for a 1.5 hr tour but I have no complaints and it was fun and it didn't eat up my whole day. Easy access by Uber directly to the grounds. You can also ferry in from San Juan but be sure to add a transfer option to your tour ticket for $15. This gets you from the pier to Casa Bacardi. Enjoy.
I was last at Casa Bacardí in 2010 -- 16 years ago. With my son. This time my wife and I visited Casa Bacardí located appropriatest enough in an industrial zone east of the harbor entrance. We stopped on our way between the beach at Quebradillas and the airport, and were glad we did. The tour has changed in 16 years but the welcome was still warm and embracing. Everyone from the guard at the front gate to random workers were super helpful. We started in a pavilion waiting for outr tour to start. The cost of the tour gives you a token to a drink at the bar -- made with Bacardí of course. We decided to wait till after the tour for the drink. The tour was interesting. First a ride on a tram around the campus with Gabriela providing explanations, then we toured a museum which started with a short video followed by a walk through rooms with artifacts from the history of Bacaradí. The high point is an exact replica of the bar at the abandoned and collapsing Casa Bacardí in Havana. The tour by ended in the adjacent gift shop where you can buy Bacardí merch and special editions of rum. Then a walk back to the pavilion where my wife had a piña colada and I had daquirí. Lots of fun. If you have time, the Bacardí tour is well worth the time and the price of admission.
The good: I did the rum tasting tour, which was very informative, our tour guide was very educated. Very upbeat. The samples that were presented, were very elegant. Prior to the tour beginning we were given a token for a complimentary adult beverage. The bad: there were mixed reviews stating that minors were welcomed, however, the only place they were permitted was in The Pavilion. I purchased two tickets, however I went on the tour by myself while my wife stayed with our child. They did credit us for the unused ticket for the tour. My wife was permitted to use it for beverages and food at the kiosk. However the kiosks closed ridiculously early at 6:00 p.m., however the tour ended at 6:45. The bar also closed at 6:45 p.m. and if you didn't have a token you couldn't even purchase a beverage.
its a non stop party in puerto rico from the moment you land, the pilot plays puerto rico reggaeton. Same thing here, non stop party when you enter, they give you a token that you can use for a welcome drink. I booked the chocolate pairing thinking it came with a chocolate for each rum type. You only get a chocolate for the last rum pairing. IMO, the chocolate and the last rum paired together tasted like merlot wine lol. I didnt finish my tasting bc I'm a weak sauce. I didnt want to act like that girl who cant handle her liquor so I didnt drink all of it. Honestly took a sip of each one and that was enough. I recommend just ubering because they drop you off infront of the bacardi distillery. The ferry drops you off far and you have to take a bus. You have to walk back there after and I just cant do it after taking shots on the tour. You do you but I would just uber. There's an uber stop infront of the bacardi house.
We did the Founders Tour at Casa Bacardi and it was fantastic. Our guide, Adrian, made the whole experience memorable. He shared a lot of interesting history about the family and the property. We learned exactly how the rum is made, everything from the barrel origins and their whiskey distillery partnerships to the local fungi that grows around the aging facilities. It was also cool to find out they ship and bottle in Florida, and even generate their own electricity on-site. The tasting was the best part. It's wild how subtle additions like a coconut ice cube or a few coffee beans completely change the flavor profile of the rum. Great people, great drinks, and an awesome gift shop. We had perfect weather for it, too. I will definitely do this again.
Adriana gave such a delightful, insightful, and fun tour. She gave such a fun tour with a personal touch: she compared each rum to a different type of bird, and really made it a lovely experience. The outdoor part was a little tougher because the vehicle was so shaky and noisy to hear everything. But Adriana, the crazy bird lady, made it wonderful.
Such a fun experience at Casa Bacardi! Highly recommend the Mixology class! My friends and I booked the 5pm Mixology class during our trip to San Juan. I highly recommend arriving early -- you are served a welcome drink and can explore all of the art on the grounds. The tour started with a tram ride to see where the rum is aged and learn more about the company. We then entered a room where all of the mixology materials were set up. We learned to make 2 cocktails (my fav was the mojito) and had some time to enjoy our drinks. Our tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable! Highly recommend booking this activity in advance!
Casa Bacardí was a really enjoyable experience overall. You get a complimentary cocktail before the tour begins. Our tour guide was amazing--knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the brand and its history. The tour itself offered a lot of great information about Bacardí and rum-making, and I appreciated learning more about the legacy behind it all. That said, I could've gone without the ride portion--it felt a bit rushed and she breezed through it quickly. Thankfully, the rum tasting more than made up for it. It was excellent, with even more history shared, and you also get a great buzz by the end. The gift shop was super cute and had plenty of fun souvenirs to choose from. Overall, it's definitely worth visiting if you're in Puerto Rico, especially for the tasting and the knowledgeable guides.

We rode a trolley over to the mixology class, and learned the history of Bacardi along the way. Our guide was fun and informative, and made the whole experience extremely entertaining. We learned how to make two different cocktails with two different types of Bacardi. The class kicked off with a cheers of one of their most premium Bacardi blends, which really got us all in the party mode. We made a version of a mojito, and another very floral drink which was also good. We had ample time to take photos up at the front, and were able to take our drinks to go with us once the experience was over. If you're looking for a place to turn up and have some fun I'd come here and do the mixology class for sure!
This was such a unique experience and an absolute must-do if you're in San Juan! We did the mixology class, which included learning how to make two different cocktails. Violetta, our instructor/guide, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about BACARDÍ, which made the class even more enjoyable. The grounds were beautiful with plenty of spots to take pictures and relax. I'd love to come back and try the Founder's Experience next time. My only criticism is that they told us to arrive 30 minutes early, but there ended up being a lot of downtime. The actual class started more than 20 minutes after our reservation time.
I along with a group of friends booked a mixology class here. What a great experience this was! Be sure to arrive early enough to enjoy your complimentary welcome drink! After enjoying our complimentary drinks we were taken on a tour around the distillery learning about the history of Bacardi. The tour shows us all around and then drops us off where the mixology class takes place. During the class we made several drinks that were all delicious and seemed to increase in strength lol. They provide everything you need to make the drinks and the instructor was very informative. My friends definitely enjoyed the class and left feeling quite lovely. Would definitely recommend!
We took the Bacardi legacy tour - At the time it was $45 each. We arrived at the gate a bit early - and were not allowed to enter the property until 30 minutes before our tour started. I think a lot of people either take ubers or the ferry from the Old San Juan area. We drove the rental car. The tour starts outside at the white roofed building where the friendly staff check your registration information and get you lined up for the tour you pad for - you can do the long tour for $89 or the mixology class for $89. Or the legacy tour for the half price. We were quickly outfitted with our wristbands and a complimentary drink token. We cashed those in and opted for the upgrade drinks for a couple more dollars. The drinks were made very well and some with flair! We had time to drink and meet some new friends from Michigan while taking pictures. After which they herd you to the carts and take you on a pretty short but informative tour where they tell you about the property and the business conducted in each of the buildings. After the cart park you go inside and begin the walking tour, then a 7 minute video telling the history of the business and family. Next you get to taste a special flavr that you can only get there - and you can purchase the products at a great price along with all kinds of swag - and that is pretty much it. I am glad we went and our guide was fantastic! I regret not picking up the bottle of 10 there - the price at the airport was about $20 more.
My friends and I had so much fun doing this tour! We chose the mixology class tour and everyone gets a welcome cocktail. There was a set menu of cocktails that you can get with options to upgrade your cocktail at a cost. While you wait for your tour guide, you get to enjoy the cocktail and lounge around the waiting area which is where you can take a photo of the "Casa Bacardi" sign made of barrels. Anywho, we took a small tour to the distillery prior to the mixology class where we had a chance to sample some rum. Our tour guide - wish I remembered her name - was SO entertaining and hospitable. We absolutely loved her and she was also our mixology teacher. After the class, we headed to the gift shop and then back to the waiting area where there was a food truck which was nice because we were all getting hungry by the end of the tour. We had such a great experience here and the drinks were really good. Highly recommend doing this tour!

During our vacation in San Juan, we wanted a different type of experience, so we booked the Casa Bacardi Legacy Tour at Casa BACARDI in Catano. Trip Advisor recommended arriving early to enjoy the welcome drink, and we are glad we followed that advice. The drink was excellent, and the on site grill gave us a chance to try some local cuisine before the tour began. There were also plenty of great photo opportunities around the welcome center, which we took full advantage of. Our tour started promptly with our guide, the very charismatic France. She mentioned she was new, but she carried herself like a seasoned professional. Her mix of humor and Bacardi history made the tour engaging and enjoyable. We saw the exterior of the factory, explored the museum with its artifacts and displays, and watched a short film about the company's legacy. At the end of the tour, we sampled premium Bacardi blends and then visited the gift shop. The tour lasted about an hour, which felt just right. The gift shop was well stocked with a wide range of items, including many varieties of rum. My only critique is that the shop does not accept cash, which is my preferred payment method. Even so, I purchased a nice Bacardi cigar ash tray with my credit card before we walked back to the welcome center. From there, we went to the ride share area and took an Uber to the Catano port, where we caught the short ferry across to Old San Juan. That spontaneous add on turned out to be a highlight. It was fun, scenic, only twenty minutes, and cost four dollars for two people. It was a great bargain. Overall, the Bacardi tour was fascinating, informative, and very enjoyable, thanks in large part to France and her energy. We left feeling like we truly understood the history of the rum and the company. It was absolutely worth it. read more

This property is beautiful, the views are nice, and the tour experience is well organized. The cocktails were a highlight, and it was interesting learning more about the history of Bacardí and its connection to Puerto Rico. I recommend paying close attention when booking your tour time. My sister accidentally booked the wrong time slot, and unfortunately they didn't accommodate her. make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early for check-in so they do not deny you entry. We did the Legacy Tour, which was pretty relaxed and casual...you can comfortably wear sandals. If you're booking one of the more premium experiences, you may want to check the dress expectations ahead of time since some tours are more formal. Overall, it was a fun experience, especially if you enjoy rum, cocktails, and learning a little local history. read more

I booked this tour the day of my birthday. I woke up feeling a little down but decided to get out and explore. I arrived an hour early just in case something went wrong or if I ran into traffic... and just my luck it was beauxcoup traffic! The two parking lots I got to were full and by the time I got to the 2nd one, I was late getting to the ferry. I decided to call the reservation line and ask if I could reschedule. The guy I spoke to was very kind. He text me directions to the factory and refunded me the ferry fee that I paid online. I was literally about to cry. I arrived in enough time to check in, get my drink and use the ladies room. Once they call your wrist band color, you board the trolley/bus and the tour guide takes you around the bldg for a quick history lesson on the company. Then you head inside and get a tour of the inside and how the company started. The video that was shown was very informative. Towards the end you will get to taste one of the Bacardi rums. Even though it was my bday, I opted not to indulge. The tour goes by pretty fast. We ended at the gift shop. Which is where I went a little insane. Lol read more

This was on my to-do list while visiting Puerto Rico and I'm happy we got to experience their legacy tour. Now I know how to properly say "Bacardi". The price was around $40 to learn about the legacy and history of Bacardi and where it came from. I felt like I had a better understanding and learning of this family owned business. This experience made me like Bacardi a bit more than I already did. Plus their property grounds is so cool just to hangout and enjoy the bar. Looks of area to take pictures in and just enjoy your time. You can even buy a bottle of Special Bacardi, pour it yourself, and have your name engraved on it. It's my first time visiting Casa Bacardi, and it was a very good experience from the driving to the sitting down to order a drinks. The bartenders were super nice and they were . I love the Mojito they made for me and my daughter took another cocktail, my husband got an old-fashioned; later we went in the tram to visit the plant and the museum. We visited the store people was very nice, but I wish there was more to see how they prepare the rum , but they have an offer that tour since Covid, so we do that.. read more
With the wide range of tasting and tour options, we were really excited to choose what was best for us and what we wanted from our visit to Casa Bacardí! We opted to do the Rum Tasting Tour, which included a guided tour of the grounds, and the opportunity to learn about the history of Bacardí while tasting/sampling 4 different types of rum and some chocolate. It was a really interactive rum tasting, with lots of opportunity to ask questions about all things rum. We were a pretty big tour group, but this didn't take from the experience at all - if anything it made it better! I would definitely recommend this as something to do on a visit to San Juan! Whether you're traveling solo, a group trip, a baecation... This will be a great activity at add to the itinerary. read more

The team at Casa Bacardi is so joyful and just a pleasure the be around. The estate is so stunning. But I did a tour and it felt rushed, with gimmicks, and just missing an added immersion that vintage distilleries deserve. The drinks were yummy and the rum is great but there is just something missing read more
We did the mixology class and it was such a cool experience! Making the drinks was pretty straightforward. You get three drinks total, including the welcome drink, with the option to buy more at the bar if you want. Overall, a great time with friends. read more

This was a last minute stop, as the weather going to cooperate with our original plans. Did the mixology class and it was so much fun. We're so happy we booked this. We got brief history about Bacardi and about the cocktails we were making. The instructor made it so much fun. Now I'm a mojito pro. Highly suggest as a must do while on the island. read more

It's ok not what ibwas expecting. This place is for tourists of course. They overcharge for everything. The tasting was ok but I would not recommend for 80$. The place was nice and the people are nice but the distillery itself is just ok. I have seen better and worse. If you just want to go see then I would recommend but be ready to pay for a just ok experience. read more

This is actually my second visit to both the island and Bacardi. Obviously, I liked it enough to return. On the first visit, I just did the tasting, but this visit, I took the Mixology Class. They try to make getting there pretty easy, but if you're coming on your own from the cruise port, be mindful of the time. If you buy tickets through the BACARDÍ site, they tell you which ferry you should take to make it in time, and you need to follow this because the ferry is infrequent and then you need to hop a shuttle to the factory. Also, try to leave time before or after your tour to visit the food booth by the rest rooms. Great Mofongo. Onto the visit itself, friendly tour guide and host/teacher for the class. The extent of my bartending skill is grabbing a can from a fridge. But the instructor here did a great job of explaining everything, and I was actually impressed by the two drinks I made. You get one full size drink at the visitor's center with the ticket and then you make two full sized in the class, so I was probably a bit too relaxed on my schedule and got back to the ship later than I intended. One other suggestion I will make is to get the exclusive bottle of rum. You can dip it and engrave the bottle for an extra charge, which is cool, but even without it, it's good rum and has a nice box that it comes in. read more
Casa Bacardi WAS AN EXPERIENCE I'D TRY over and over again. The excitement starts from the moment you enter the premises and you're greeted by the rum factories in the background, the beautiful grounds, amazing bar a few steps away from check-in, and the tour buses lined up to show you around. After checking-in, we were given a complimentary drink to which we paid a few dollars extra to order a flavored mojito. The drink was refreshing, not too strong but a good way to sample their rum. Next, we boarded the bus with Julie (I truly hope that's her name because she was excellent) She was funny, informative, and the best hostess for the mixology class-she was a great time! After making a traditional mojito and learning the essentials of rum pairing, I walked away ready to stack up my bar with a few bottles and host some game nights lol Definitely worth the experience! read more

I did the Legacy Rum Tasting Tour here, which was $80 a person. When you check-in, they hand you a Bacardi coin which you can use to get a free Bacardi cocktail when you arrive. I recommend coming a little earlier before the tour so you can enjoy your cocktail, take pictures with the Bacardi mural and sign, and/or use the restroom. The first part of the tour is on a trolley ride around the distillery campus. Then we actually enter into one of the Bacardi buildings, where they discuss the history and legacy of the founders of Bacardi and the distillation process and ingredients used. They mention that the fruit bat is the logo since there were many fruit bats above the first distillery building. Also, fruit bats were a symbol of fortune, healthy, and family stability. Towards the end of the tour, we did a rum tasting of their various bottles, including the Bacardi Reserva Ocho, a limited edition bottle. After the rum tasting, they end the tour at the gift shop where you can purchase Bacardi rum, apparel, and even customized a bottle of Bacardi. read more

We spent NYE on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. We purchased tickets online for the Bacardi MIXOLOGY CLASS. The tour includes one welcome cocktail and a guided tour bus to the Visitor Center. During the class we were able to do a step by step walk through of two cocktails. We added on the ferry pass at checkout. Ferry is located a few steps from cruise area. Tour rating: 100/10. we enjoyed EVERY single moment PRICE: $80.00 + tax | Duration: 75 minutes Our tour guide was very lively and made the experience enjoyable. read more
We didn't stay long at Bacardi, but enjoyed the exact experience we wanted. The tours cost a little more than what we had budgeted, so we decided to sidle up to the bar and get a flight of rum. The bartender walked us through each pour, and we had a very nice time doing that, making a great alternative option to a full tour. While we sipped pina coladas, we gazed upon the beautiful grounds. Coming from Kentucky, and bourbon country, it was very different to be at a rum distillery. That said, the people were just as friendly as in KY, but also excited to be at this historic site. As a bonus, they have a fully marked menu and good food! I very much enjoyed our pork dish. I highly recommend going to Bacardi, even if you don't do a tour. It's a pretty cool visit. Also - make sure you think about how you get here! We took an Uber, which was easy and fairly inexpensive in the morning from Condado. read more

If you're thinking about taking the Bacardí tour in Puerto Rico -- don't. This was one of the most underwhelming and poorly handled experiences I've ever had on a distillery tour, and it left a bad taste in every sense of the word. Before I scheduled a tour, I called at least 4x times with no answer talk to the gal at the guest services and she had attitude saying that they only respond via email, which is really strange for our corporation, especially if someone has questions regarding whether kids can come which we ended up finding out that they weren't so my nephew needs to wait for 2 1/2 hours with their mom since there's really not much to do out there besides a measly gift shop. Let's get into the actual tour .... The most shocking moment happened before the tour even started. Three paying guests, who had been waiting since 11:30 a.m. for our 3:30 p.m. tour, were suddenly and very publicly kicked out. It was completely unnecessary, humiliating, and showed a complete lack of professionalism or respect. Instead of resolving things quietly or calmly, Bacardí staff chose to escalate the situation and make a scene in front of the rest of us -- it was uncomfortable and frankly, disgraceful. The tour ended up being about 15 minutes late. Honestly, they should've checked to see names before people boarded the little Trolley because they had a check if I was on the list and they didn't email me the receipt. But the girl did remember me as she sold me the tickets it just how it handled was so professional. As for the tour itself, it is absolutely not worth the $40 price tag. Not that this is pricey for a standard tasting, but just wasn't worth a wait or to put up with the service! The tasting only includes one welcome drink token for basic drinks and not the other cocktails that were $14 which they didn't clarify. And the actual tour only included 1/2 oz pour of their reserve -- barely enough to sample! You don't see much of the actual rum-making process, and there's little opportunity to ask questions or connect with the brand in any real way. Compared to other distillery or winery tours I've done ( and I've done quite a bit ... Heineken, Jameson, Guinness, Johnny Walker and a bunch of brewery and wineries etc....) Bacardí falls far below expectations. It feels like a corporate production line, with zero warmth or hospitality. Definitely skip this tour and spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

Had such a great experience at the tour. Definitely recommend it. We chose the tour that was right for us and we received a complementary drink token to redeem at the bar. Everyone's drinks were delicious. I enjoyed the Mojito. We enjoyed some snacks from the CuchiFrito window and began to tour. William was our tour guide he was very informative and pleasant to have the experience with. He showed us how to smell the room and how to taste it properly and explained the aging process . read more
We did the tasting tour; our tour guide Rogelio was fantastic. The pre tour cocktail was very good, I got a Cuba Libra; Richelle got a grapefruit based cocktail she did not like. The tour was on a trolly, no walking in the warehouse or up close to the distillery activity. The tasting tour is where you get to try 4 different runs, one that is only sold at casa Bacardí. Rogelio was energetic and knowledgeable about all things rum. Laser engraving of a bottles is available too. If you go and see a stave Christmas tree, that was Richelle's idea for Casa Bacardí to use inspired by Kentucky distilleries around the Christmas season. read more
We did the legacy tour of the Casa Bacardi completely spontaneously. We showed up and they slotted us within the next 10 mins for a tour. Looking it up, it was #4 on Viator's list of things to do in Puerto Rico which gave us perhaps too high expectations going it. We went on a short trolley ride with a free drink we each got to see the exterior of a handful of buildings. Then we watched a mini video on the history of bacardi, then saw some historical artifacts of bacardi, saw replicas of the rum process to learn about how it's made, then went to a cuban inspired bar area where we tried a couple sips of an expensive rum. I was hoping to actually see into the buildings and the process in action so was a little disappointed that we only got to see the outsides and a replica of the process. But our guide Itsy's energy and enthusiasm was contagious and made us enjoy the experience more read more

Truly a very nice place to visit while in PR. I went on vacation the first time to PR and decided to visit this place as Bacardi was actually originated in Cuba. I was able to find a cool tour with tasting and then we were taken to the store and even enjoyed some drinks in their outdoor bar. A huge facility and everyone is no nice. we were able to get a lot of information in the tour. I recommend. read more
Definitely a tourist focused space, but such a good one! Our tour which involved a cocktail class was amazing! This area is beautiful, well crafted, and all of the staff were wonderful. We got to tour the facilities, learn the history of Casa Bacardi, and enjoy tasty cocktails before and during our class! Highly recommend booking this tour directly and supporting this business. Come ready for fun! Additionally, while you wait for your tour you can enjoy their bar and outdoor patio games. Loved getting to enjoy this experience and got our own personalized bottle from Bacardi on our honeymoon! read more
