A surprisingly affordable fancy restaurant. The wait staff is phenomenal. Everything on the menu is delicious.

The I side was very nice, we were seated in the giant new addition which was bright and decorated nicely. The room has three glass walls contributing to the very loud atmosphere making it difficult to hear the person across from you. Our group had a chicken, veal, seafood, and pasta and everyone enjoyed it. Salad comes with meal and was excellent. We did not order dessert but the choices looked great. No substitutions were offered on vegetables, no split checks which seemed odd as many restaurants offer that service. The food was good but not outstanding. read more

Veal Marsala is otherworldly. Chicken Franchese - same. Great salads and plenty of bread. If you love great food, service with a smile, and tons of ambiance, then head right over! Visiting from out of town & checked Yelp reviews for good Italian food & saw that Casa Bella had the most 5 & 4 star reviews. I'm glad I stopped in. I had the tortellini soup & then veal saltimbocca & both were excellent. The service was outstanding as their "team" approach meant that multiple servers attended my table. Visiting from out of town and picked this because it was Italian and had the best reviews in the area. Best decision we have made the whole week! They have a lovely outdoor area they have setup due to COVID. Lovely tent gazebos and twinkle lights with a fountain. Be advised! Call ahead and make a reservation! I called at 6pm earliest they could take us was 745. Got there at 720 and they were able to seat us early. Amazing service. There was a brief wait fro When we were seated to get our drink menus but they were apologetic and very server that passed made a point to check on us and get us whatever we needed. Food came out piping hot, even 10minutes after getting it it was still hot. We ordered the lobster ravioli, linguini with seafood and veal parm. All the pasta was obviously fresh made, raviolis were fresh tasting and light and fluffy, seafood was cooked to perfection. All the desserts were the perfect amount of sweet and natural flavor of the ingredients. I've never had a better tiramisu. Of we ever visit within a 1 hour radius of this place we are a stopping. Even my teenager was impressed. Owner came and talked to us the last 20 minutes and made us feel like family. read more

I so rarely do this but writing this BEFORE I get my bill!! AMAZING customer service! Came in looking for some Italian and hit the jackpot! I arrived without a reservation (but it was just me) and within about 15 min every table was full! And I see why The food is delish!! I had the tomato capresse as an appetizer and the tortellini with vodka sauce. Every entree on every table looked so good, but mine was soooooo good!!! The team work extremely well together. Sunday, October 9 I took nine people, 6 of them their first time. The reservation was for 11, I only found out in the parking lot that 2 canceled. I was rudely told that my reservation was confirmed for 11. I explained I had only just found out, but he totally had his face out of shape. We were then put at a table that should be for 6 Not 9. There were only two other tables occupied at the time in the whole new section. The salad dressing tasted just like oil. My chicken was grizzly, my sister's mashed potatoes were frozen inside, and one dinner had to be returned because there was a piece of metal in it! I raved about this place and was totally embarrassed. Prices are raised and portions are cut. I frequented often, But will not be returning now. read more

Wonderful meal! Apps were fantastic! Fried calamari was absolutely perfect ! No heavey greasy batter here, just lightly floured and fried , so tender and with a nice red sauce. Clams oreganato, delicious! Mains were great as well, Veal sorrentino and shrimp parmigiana, so good! Drinks were also great and not over priced . Owners are so friendly. Service is amazing. Scranton has deep Italian roots. We decided that while passing through that we would compare Pennsylvanian Italian food to NY Italian food. Casa Bella did not disappoint. We grew up in Brooklyn New York and know exceptional Italian food cooked by real nonas (Italian grandmas). The simple veal parmigiana was cooked to perfection on a busy Friday night. The orange roughy special in lemon sauce was light and delicate. The thin crisp cannoli with smooth ricotta filling was exceptional. We regularly try cannolis from NYC to Boston. We were well cared for by the wait staff. If you are lucky enough to sit on the outer edge of the patio, the glowing church in the back ground is reminiscent of a piazza. read more

While staying overnight in Scranton, we found a restaurant that was locally owned and family run - CASA BELLA - a Neighborhood GEM. It was a Wednesday - not a popular day to dine out, but every table was filled in the large dining room and many people were waiting to be seated. Normally, we would not wait, but the friendly, professional waitstaff and the tastebud-teasing aromas from the kitchen sent the message to wait-it-out. We were the only out-of-towners, plus we did not have a reservation, but that did not make a lick of difference with the locals - so friendly and so welcoming, especially, Tony and Valerie. Once we were seated, the service was IMPECCABLE and the food was OUTSTANDING. A Huge Shout-Out to the staff who took great care of us - highly professional and attentive - Bekim/Head Waiter, Vanessa, Ali, Doni, Mentor, and Lani. All future trips North will include an overnight in Scranton to experience the Welcoming Atmosphere and the Luscious Food of CASA BELLA. read more

Had a party of 18 with a reservation following our ski day at Elk. Our party was seated, as discussed, and we had a great meal and time. We all ordered off the menu and had 9 adults and 9 kids. Always feels rushed to me, this last visit a waiter plopped a glass of wine on the table and took off so fast before we could say this is not ours. We got the attention of another waiter take it away. Never received our bread, then when we questioned a charge on the bill the Owner came over and he was very arrogant, rude , and condescending. Was turned away from outdoor dining because we had a service animal that we notified the restaurant about 8 hrs in advance while making a reservation. Repeatedly told them on the phone that we had a service animal. Was told repeatedly that was no problem. Upon arriving I was asked for "legal documentation" of my service animal. A few quick things: I have the right to train my own service dog under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). Provided my service animal can help me accomplish tasks that I cannot, the law allows my service animal to be present in all public places I am allowed to be present. The only legal questions a business owner can ask a patron about a service animal is weather the owner has a disability, and weather said animal is trained to perform tasks to assist their owner. She is. I was repeatedly berated by servers and the owner, Sammy for showing up with my service animal without "legal documentation" even though we had told them repeatedly that we would be dining with a service animal. Was told we should understand their point of view. Which is apparently that they think that they can discriminate against people with disabilities. Have already filed a complaint with the ADA and talked to a lawyer. read more

With all the complaints about service problems at restaurants in 2021 - it was a breath of fresh air to dine at Casa Bella! Service was friendly and excellent! Our water and wine glasses were always refilled promptly. Everything we wished for was taken care of quickly with a smile. The food was exceptional too! Good food. Amazing waiter person staff! Very overpriced! I special ordered chicken Parmesan, as it is not on the menu. I got one medium-size, very thin chicken cutlet, and medium serving of linguine for $17.50. There literally was $2 worth the food on my plate. When the waitress asked me what kind of salad dressing I wanted for my salad, I replied Cesar. She then decided that I didn't want the house salad, but I wanted a side Caesar (which I did not), and went on to charge $5 for a substitution for Caesar salad. If you order the Caesar salad as a side of the menu, it is $5. So they credited me nothing for the house salad, and charged me full price for Caesar salad - that I did not order! read more

Had a local tell me about this place, looked it up on the YELP app and great reviews. Looking over the menu, didn't see a favorite Lugini and seafood. They did make it and it was great. A full meal with cheese cake as an extra, couldn't say no. All was enjoyable, wished I had more time to try another dish or two. read more

Honestly, this was the first place I went out to eat (for a date, anyway; I've taken the kids to pizza/casual places) when moving up from NYC area. I love the scrimp scampi, honestly.....everything I've had there has been terrific- not one disappointment! However, with the new addition and the extra tables and reservations, Sammy might need to back off taking so many reservations for especially Friday and Saturday nights. People are liking the new addition and lingering longer after dinner is served hence slower turnovers. If you make a reservation between 6:00 and 7:30 expect to wait in line for up to 30-40 minutes to be seated. Not good when you have elderly and small children as part of the group. read more
