I've been thinking about what I wanted to focus on for this post because there are too many wonderful things to say about this venue. I'll start by saying that this is the second time I have hosted an event here seven years apart from each other. The first was for my eldest daughter's sweet 16 and the second one was on January 2 for my youngest daughter's quinceanera. I cannot say enough, good things about Monica, the manager of this facility. From the start, she was so helpful, kind, and responsive. She made my entire process stress-free and even worked with me to ensure that I had more than sufficient time to set up. The venue staff the day of my event were wonderful! A shout out to the event captain Marisol for being amazing! My guests not only complimented the service they complimented how good the food was as well. Although it ended up raining the day of my daughter's event and we weren't able to use the patio area which we originally planned for, we were able to set up everything inside and it worked out very nicely. My daughter had a wonderful time and we walked away extremely happy with how everything turned out.. I give this venue, the service, the location, and everything else a 10 out of 10. read more

I want to star off by saying that I would give Junior 10 stars if I could. He made the entire process so seamless. In addition, he was incredibly helpful and responsive. Junior is amazing at what he does and he deserves all of the success in the world! Now to the reason for my 4 stars. The staff was more so acting like venue security/ management. It made it difficult to fully enjoy the night as they were constantly pointing out very minor issues. There were a few details which were missed but we handled with grace rather than to take on their aggressive approach. Overall a lot of guests felt they were being watched mainly due to their alcohol intake lol but why offer an open bar option if you don't want people celebrating? Yes people were drinking but there wasn't inappropriate behavior taking place. It was just a bit unnecessary. Overall a great venue and experience thanks to Junior. It was a great venue, a really great place to book if you like being creative, there is the space to be creative and really create your unique wedding. Karla was very helpful and did her best to accommodate any special needs we requested. The venue did give a very intimate vibe as well. Food was delicious, I was very scared to taste dry chicken that day ....and was excited to taste a juicy chicken breast in my pasta. Appetizers were delish as well. BTW: their food tasting event is so much fun as well. The price is great, food is good, opened to creativity. Glad to have held my reception here. Only downfall, the parking. There are options we had to look on our own but there are 2 parking garages nearby free of charge, we had to put the info in opur invitation to make guest aware. Customer service shouldn't be measured for when there isn't any problems, it should be measured by how the team your working with acts when thing go wrong. I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Casa Bonita in Fullerton on 12/6/24, where my $3000 Louis Vuitton purse was stolen during an event. This review serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering this venue or working with CasaDeLago Events. I had my purse with me at the event, and the only time I took my attention off of it was during the last 30 minutes, when security was rushing off the property, and the event had already gone past midnight. Not 10 minutes after I left the venue, I realized my purse was missing. I immediately returned to the patio table I was last at and asked the staff, but they claimed to have seen nothing. I requested to view the security footage, and was told I would have to call back in the morning. When I called the next day (Saturday), I spoke with Junior, the manager, who told me that the cameras didn't work. I found this hard to believe, so after some back-and-forth, my case was escalated to Karla, his director. From the start, Karla was rude and dismissive, telling me that while the cameras "do work," she had just learned that she couldn't access the footage. This contradicted what Junior had told me moments earlier. My only goal was to see the footage, but Karla's behavior made the situation even more frustrating. She promised to call me back with an update later that day, but never did. On Monday, Junior informed my cousin (who was picking up the deposit) that they could access the footage, but not the last two hours. I called Karla again for a follow-up, and she was short and unhelpful, stating they still couldn't access any footage for the night. I couldn't understand why I was receiving conflicting information every time I spoke to someone. She promised to escalate the issue to the owner and call me back the next evening. That call never came. On Wednesday, after waiting and hearing nothing, I called Karla again for an update. This time, she told me that there was no footage at all for that night, and then made an incredibly insensitive remark, suggesting I should have "taken better care of my property." At that point, I asked to speak with Charlie, her manager. After a brief conversation about how their cameras are supposed to work, he still could not explain why there was no footage from the night in question. I explained to Charlie that I had lost trust in their team due to the inconsistent stories and lack of follow-through. This is not how a venue should treat its clients, especially when renting out a venue is such an expensive investment. I expect professionalism, integrity, and clear communication--none of which I received. If I were to share every detail of how this situation was mishandled, this review would be even longer than it already is. The bottom line is that my purse was stolen, the staff was negligent, and the management team was unprofessional and evasive. I would strongly advise against using Casa Bonita or CasaDeLago Events for any future events. It's clear that your property--and your peace of mind--are not safe here. read more

Came here for a friends wedding recently and was pleasantly surprised by this little gem on the backside of Downtown Fullerton. Growing up in the area, I had never heard of Casa Bonita until our friends planned their wedding reception here. As with everything Downtown Fullerton, parking is a hassle. There are a few lots right in front of the venue, but those tend to get packed. If you wait long enough a spot will eventually open up for you. The venue itself is of good size, you could probably fit about 200ish people and a dance floor inside. There is a patio outside that was used as kind of a lounging area for the particular event I attended. Overall there is a good layout and flow to the venue, with some very nice decorations. The dance floor is not too big, but adequate. read more

Let me start off by saying Karla is amazing and she gets a 10/10. My wife and I got married here on July 1st, 2017. We actually had another venue locked in, but ended up going with Casa Bonita because of the ease. We didn't have time for the whole hipster DIY. We are pretty simple and wanted an elegant feel. Karla was easy to communicate with and fast with her emails. She made strong recommendations and you can tell that this wasn't her first rodeo. She was also very accommodating. I think the places looked beautiful and couldn't ask for anything more. The food was good, she set up our dessert station, and also helped with our simple centerpiece placing. The security staff was friendly and on top of the downtown Fullerton outside riffraff. The bartenders got us just the right amount of drunk, and they didn't let me pay for a single drink (mine or my wife's) So why the 4 stars and not 5. It really is a small detail, but it did stress me out as I was there setting up before the wedding. Parking is a bit rough, and the back lot has signs that say 3 hour parking. Lots of our guests were reluctant to park. The next closest lot is about 2 blocks down. Secondly, there were people coming to check out the venue way too close to wedding time. Our wedding was slated at 3, guests came at 2:15ish (which is weird because Filipinos are always late). But there were still people (non guests) hanging out trying to talk to Karla. I get it, it's the norm, but it freaked out coordinators out and myself out. Honestly, I would recommend them. It was seemless and it came our beautiful. read more

I cant even say this was bad customer service because there was no service at all. We originally had our wedding set for 11/22/20. when all of COVID happened I reached out to Karla and her response was basically when it gets closer we will talk. I could understand that we all thought everything was going to end soon. So I waited. During the summer I got an email that said plan like it's still going to happen. With her lack of communication I didn't want to do that at all. Then in September I finally gave up hope. I let her know we were thinking of canceling. She didn't give me options. She didn't go over the contract with me or tell me what would happen to my money (I had already paid the deposit and then some). All she said was okay I'll get the process started and then never said anything again. I figured maybe closer to the date she would tell me more or I would get a letter or something stating I had canceled or maybe an email but I never received anything. Besides this issue Karla is very unprofessional. Her emails always have typos. I understand that English might be her 2nd language but with spell check there is no excuse. Her time management is also bad. When we first went in to see the venue we went in during our lunch time. We waited 45 minutes for her to finish with the other customers. If it wasn't that I had my heart set on this location I wouldn't have picked it. I dont know what the other locations have been like due to COVID. But I can say that when we went to go tour their different venues the other location managers were so much more professional. read more

Had my wedding here recently and as much as I want to give this business 5 stars, unfortunately I can't. I was drawn to this business for my wedding based on the reviews they originally had. And wish I could post nothing but positive things but I can't. I'm not going to go into detail with the things that went wrong but will say I was promised things that did not follow through. My husband and I originally met with Melinda who at the time was the event coordinator there, and if you get the opportunity to work with her you'll be glad you did. She was extremely professional, always a call away if I had any questions, was prompt on returning my calls, went the extra mile to make me feel reassured for my wedding. Unfortunately, days before my wedding Melinda was transferred and we were told we had a new coordinator, Karla. She dropped the ball on many things on my wedding, sad to say, but I would not be doing my Yelp elite job if I was not being honest from my own personal experience and give a heads up to potential customers. After talking to one of the managers back and forth he apologized and we agreed upon a reimbursement which was given and fair. I would not recommend this venue unfortunately if Melinda was not the one coordinating your event. read more

We recently had our wedding reception here this September. .the place is beautiful and has a great location in Downtown Fullerton. Since we had our wedding on a Sunday and we were having buffet, Leo threw in dinner serving as a bonus. This helped our guests to be served their dinner and not stand in a buffet line. I have both Pros/Cons for this location: PROS: 1. For what you receive and for the amount of guests, the price is fabulous and affordable! (Make sure to check out Classificados.com as they sometimes have specials listed on there for anyone of Casa Del Lagos venues.. if you don't read Spanish, use Google Translate.) 2. Wait staff was extremely attentive and professional. Service was great and serving the food and cake were efficient..cleaning the dirty plates were done in a timely manner. Security guards were also there.. some of the security guards were professional. .others not so much. I had one security guard doing a pull up.. a freaking pull up in the doorway during my husband's speech (which we threw a shout out to the guard for doing that..public shaming anyone? Seriously?! Way to keep it classy bro!) 3. The food was delicious! ..strike that, the carnitas were the $h!t. We ordered the Mexican buffet and we chose Carnitas to accompany the standard chicken fajitas. Rice, beans, and salsa were delicious. 4. We asked that the venue be ice cold since we knew it would be hot that day and wearing wedding clothes is extremely hot! The venue was freezing, which I loved!! Also, there is a private bathroom for the bride, awesome! CONS: 1. As another bride stated in another review, it was very difficult to get a hold of Leo the Manager. He didnt respond back to emails or voice mails in a timely manner..and mind you, I only emailed once and after a few days emailed again, after a few days with no response again, thats when I called. We even made an actual appointment at his convenience to come by to review the linens and table set up. .we were about 15 mins away and after finally getting a hold of him and letting him know that we were down the street, he then asks me to come by tomorrow since he isn't at the venue. Wtf? I wasn't a bridezilla through this whole thing but trying to get a hold of Leo was pushing me over the edge. You have to be on top of things with Leo, make sure you have the office number and his cell number too. Also, when it comes to your tasting appointment, make sure you confirm with him at least 2 days in advance. I did, to be sure, and was glad I did because the tasting was canceled. .yet nobody called to let me know. Leo is a nice guy but needs to be on top of his client's emails/calls. 2. Although the food was delicious and the staff wonderful, the staff stopped serving food about 1 hr after starting. We were supposed to get 2 hrs of continuous service. Some guests who arrived 75 mins after the start of the reception did not get to eat. That really made me upset to find that out. All that food and just gone. No one from the staff asked if it was ok to stop serving food. Very disappointed in that. 3. The freaking security guard doing a pull up in the doorway. If you're trying to impress the ladies or get a workout in..DO IT ON YOUR OWN TIME BRO. 4. Some of the beer that was included with our package was served flat and room temp. I'm guessing that the staff may have filled pitchers to be prepared for the arriving guests, but you don't do that with beer or soda. It gets warm and flat! Overall, I would recommend Casa Bonita, it's a beautiful venue and well worth the price. Just be prepared in playing email and phone tag and make sure you're the winner! read more

I'm sorry for all the costumers that had an unhappy xperience with this venue, I just had my wedding on this place about a week ago it wasn't that easy to find a venue with a nice patio couple weeks before the event with all this pandemic regulations. But we finally booked on this place and we had a great time, patio was perfect for a 50 guests our reception started from 3:30- 10:30pm I'm very grateful Karla( Manager) and her team did a wonderful job in every detail: food,cocktails, guests service, bartender etc. Karla did her best for us to have an organized event with no worries at all. Also 2 weeks before our event me and my wife wondered if something could happen because of the pandemic updates, they will shut down for some reason, Karla told us we wouldn't worry because we should get our deposit back So we said GREAT!!! I recommend anyone who wants to have an event, ceremony, reception etc; coordinates with Karla she's a great working lady!! Back in 2012 we were searching for a wedding venue in downtown fullerton and came across this place by chance while it was being renovated and we were walking around the area. We ended up booking Casa Bonita for our wedding and were so happy we made that choice! We got married on Easter, March 31 2013. The manager, Leo, was absolutely wonderful to work with! We made quite a few changes to our package throughout the year and he did everything he could to make it work for us. The venue is beautiful, modern, simple and perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception. We had 125 guests with the ceremony being held out in the beautiful garden/patio area and the reception was held inside. Every staff member that worked our wedding was spectacular, nice and very professional. The bartender was extremely friendly and great at her job! The security guards did a superb job and Leo did great working with my vendors and making sure the venue was set up how I had wanted. When I got there to walk down the aisle, I honestly stood there in shock with how beautiful and perfect everything looked! Everyone involved that day did a wonderful job and I couldn't have asked for more. I HIGHLY recommend Casa Bonita to everyone I can and have sent a few there already. My florist was going to book an event there as well. It's a hidden gem that we only found by chance and they don't nickel and dime you like ALL the other venues we looked at do. They have affordable packages that work with parties up to I think 350 people. If I could do it all over again, I would! read more

We got married on 09.18.16 and had a great wedding! Our first two meetings were with their previous "coordinator" Melinda. She did move locations without telling us and we actually started working with Karla! Karla was very helpful, communicative, and really took care of us. We were promised a few things from the last lady and Karla made sure we got what we wanted and tried to work with us. The prices are reasonable, food was pretty good (got the Mexican food) and space was good for around 210 people. The venue itself is clean, beautiful and perfect for our Mexican themed wedding. As far as I know the service was great, security was professional and the venue was cool in temperature. Karla was not present during my wedding since it was on her day off and she had someone else in charge who I did not meet. Things were kind of miscommunicated and the wrong cake was cut and one cake wasn't cut so we had a full cake to take home but that might have been our fault for not clarifying what we needed. Apparently, it was warm outside at 4:15pm, so they let the guests in the venue early so our surprise groom's outfit was kind of ruined. But I don't know if that was the venue or my guests. Not sure but thought I would mention it for future couples because you might want a divider or have your DOC regulate before you come in. ALSO, during my bouquet toss, my bouquet got caught in the hanging fabric. Whoops! Watch out for that! Looks beautiful, just make sure you have a tall person ready to push it out haha. Make sure you have someone to keep track of what you brought with you in the wedding because I am missing a photo frame that was on the bar (no big deal) but that's another thing! You will be busy so give someone that duty! But the bartenders were good, making the drinks strong and very friendly!! DO NOT HAVE AN EVENT HERE. Recently spent $3,549 for renting this venue and $5,000 on decorations here for a week-night event(Sangeet) at Casa De Lago. The venue itself is nice but the staff and management of this venue are HORRIBLE. Couple of things I will share from my experience: 1) Security Harassed and searched all my guest's bags as they entered the venue. (Completely ruined the classiness of our event and was not mentioned when we signed contract) 2) The Staff had not prepared the plates, buffet tables and completely ignored the timeline of the event we had laid out. 3) We had paid for a hosted bar where we would supply the bar with alcohol to serve and the unused bottles were to be returned at the end of the night. THE STAFF HAD NO INTENTIONS OF RETURNING ANY OF THE HIGH END BOTTLES AND FRANKLY STOLE THE HIGH END BOTTLES AND TOLD US THEY RAN OUT. At the end of the night we saw the staff had hidden some bottles into a back room by the bar. 4) Staff harassed our caterer with locations for his setup. Overall I believe this venue is not suited for any kind of cultural event other then Quinceaneras. If you are south asian and like myself have planned to have a classy event, then you should avoid any of the venues that fall under this management. read more

I absolutely loved Casa Bonita Event Center for our magical wedding day. Karla ,her catering staff & the security were amazing. It's our door ceremony and in door hall. Another great thing was after the ceremony was finished the chairs are collected and there is a lot of space for the kids to run around outside.The day was amazing and memorable. The only thing I didn't like was according to my father and about 10 other guests the bar tenders were reminding my guests to tip. You shouldn't ask for a tip. Honestly in my opinion the catering staff should get the tips they were amazing hustling left and right getting drinks for me and my husband. Attending to all of out guests then cleaning after.
