I know she enjoyed her meal and the environment :) The food was so good too and exactly what I was craving. The pancakes were warm and fluffy and my potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The playground is just outside of this place and it was the perfect place to go to after a nice meal! Would def recommend and would def love to come back again.

The restaurant is busy and a little noisy but comfortable and well decorated. Great addition to South Park Meadows. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, sausage, loaded grits, and a short stack of bourbon street pancakes. The pancakes were perfect. Great taste and temperature. They are a little heavier than expected but tender and delicious. The loaded grits had great flavor and were just a little cooler than desired. Small complaint is the green onions weren't prepped recently -- they were dried out. Only impacted the presentation. The biscuits and gravy had great flavor but we're barely warm. Still delicious just not hot. Scrambled eggs were cooked very firm. We'll go back. With a little more care from the kitchen this would have been perfect. Still good.

The bathrooms are just spectacular here. I was greeted, seated, and waited on by a charming worker. Predictably, I ordered the Denver omelette because it's my go-to breakfast anytime it's available. It came out hot, complete, and with a beautiful presentation. The bell peppers were not as tasty as I'd hoped but the dynamite ham more than made up for it. The hash browns were okay but didn't really taste all that good. Not like the rest of the meal. The toast with butter and jam were top notch. I liked the substantial metal flatware and plates but wished the iced tea glasses could be larger. All in all it was just what I needed to face another day of work.

This place knows pancakes with four all the time specialty flavors (pineapple, strawberry, cinnamon…read moreroll and banana), one specialty (currently sticky toffee) and the basic buttermilk. While they claim to be a breakfast / brunch restaurant, all of the options I saw on the menu are breakfast options (no burgers, no salads, soups, sandwiches, etc ). So if you like endless variations on eggs and some creative pancakes / French toast this place is for you. If one or more in your party want something different, they may not feel very excited with the menu. They have quite an extensive menu beyond pancakes if that's not your thing. They have a specialty bacon that I really enjoyed with a stack of strawberry pancakes. The wife went with two eggs, two bacon, hashbrowns, substituted the sticky toffee pancake for the bread options. She thoroughly enjoyed the eggs, bacon and pancake. The hashbrowns were a bit of a miss. They tried to do something unique with the potatoes and they were not the right texture, being on the mushy side of things. Service was competent and prompt. The wife had decaf coffee and while it was quite good, our server could have been more attentive in keeping her cup full. The inside decor seemed unremarkable to me. With no partitions to speak of, it was louder than most places. On the positive side, it we clean, comfortable and well maintained. Definitely a place to return to when we are in the area looking for brunch.

I have to say this was some of the best shrimp and grits I've had. The portion was perfect, not too heavy on the grits and plenty of gravy, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp. As I looked over the menu, I realized that they have some amazing seafood choices and their raw oysters on the half shell are very high-quality for the area. Our service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive and offered coffee refills on the regular. The restaurant itself and bar are so well decorated. It's such a comfortable place. What makes it even better is they have a huge covered outdoor area for overflow or if you just want to sit outside. Everything about Taste on Main makes it one of my favorites in the area. I will definitely be back, I may become a regular.

Ambience was nice with the exception of one toddler on the other side making a little bit too much ruckus. Hopefully a one off. Our food arrived quickly enough. Major Yum yum points across the board for the crawfish dip (super delicious) loaded mashed potatoes (did I mention w Bacon) and the Steak carpaccio. Below par for the Chicken fried steak w potatoes, green beans (flavorless) and I don't know but I expected the Ceviche salmon to be..more. Not entirely a bad experience. I'd be willing to try other items on their menu next time round.

But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

As you walk in, you'll notice the building space has a store front where the sell other retail items besides food. You can see the bakers hard at work making everything fresh from scratch. I look at the display case of goodies and know I'll be leaving with more than I came on for. I look over the menu and order the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and 3 Danishes (cheese, blueberry, and strawberry). When they call my name, I pick up the order and find a seat in the neighboring spot which sell coffee, tea, and other drinks (see separate review for Meridian). The croissant breakfast sandwich comes with a scrambled egg, sliced link sausage and a green salsa that has a nice heat to it. The croissant itself it nicely toasted and just crumbles in your mouth as you take your first bite. The sandwich is hearty and will fill you up.
