I'd actually give this place 4.5 stars. This place is kid-friendly and dog friendly!! There wasn't a guy giving out kids water and pieces of chocolate! It was really sweet and super thoughtful!!! He didn't have to, but he did!!! He even gave our dog our a little treat!!!! We did the "choose 6 wines for $24 tasting". The wines are good! There wasn't one that we didn't care for. Debbie was super friendly and helpful! She very knowledgeable and fun! I'd highly recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

I came here because they were on Solvang's website under "dog friendly wine tasting". From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and felt very welcome. This place truly does feel like someone's casa. We sat at the bar and were served by Mary, who we quickly became fond of. She is the sweetest, she's funny and is amazing at conversing. She was knowledgeable on all the wines and was incredibly welcoming to my pug. My bf and i had an amazing time chatting with her, she really made this special for us. we got so lucky to find this winery!!! it was just the thing we needed after a recent disappointment to a winery up by Santa Ynez. i def. Recommend this place to anyone in Solvang. they have so many AWARD WINING WINES that we came back home with 2 bottles after drinking 1 in the winery!!! services was exceptional!! and well the ambience complimented the business and all of its guest. its on the private side but it makes it all that much more cute and cozy of a winery!!! this became a favorite!! read more

We have been to Solvang so many times but have somehow missed trying this winery. Not anymore! We had such a wonderful time trying so many great wines that we will definitely be coming back to Casa Cassara in the future. Wine here is wonderful, and a lot of them have a lovely story attached to it with a family member's picture. We each did a tasting, and Erin was absolutely wonderful! For our tasting, we got to pick the wines we tried. However, I'm not the best with wines, so she talked to us and tailored the choices to our likes and dislikes. Lead to a great tasting! Even though it was a hot day out, it was nice and cool inside which made the tasting experience even more enjoyable. Plus they are dog friendly! Overall, we could see how Casa Cassara earned the Solvang 2020 Winery of the Year. We will definitely be returning on our next adventure to Solvang. read more

This place was listed on Solvang's website as pet friendly, but no other description so we were a bit hesitant. Since our hotel wasn't ready for us yet, my SO grabbed a wine-tasting passport for us. All places on the passport were buy one get one free, so we decided to cross-reference places on the passport with places that were dog friendly. We were SO pleased by our first real interaction in Solvang. Our server was so nice to us AND the dogs. She explained the wines to us, was very patient and friendly, and even brought the pups treats. We had a great experience and bought two bottles to go, the Barbera and the Casa Bianca. read more

Absolute yes. Service here is absolutely fantastic and very attentive without intruding. If you're new to wine tasting, they're able to make recommendations and help you try wines based on what things you like so the suggestions they make get better as you progress through the tasting. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite white was the 2020 Casa Blanca, II Mio Amore, SYV. My favorite red was the 2018 Sangiovese 'Padrino'. Loved the quality of their wines. We walked in about 20min before they were closing. They said they would serve us if we can make it fast. My boyfriend and I both got a tasting of the red wines, and we shared, so we basically tried 12 of the 13 or 14 reds they offer. Overall this was probably my favorite place as far as wine quality. What a hidden gem! Staff were nice, knowledgeable. Not much of a view or anything, but highly recommended for my fellow winos. read more

My wife and I both wanted to do some wine tasting while in Solvang. We didn't get a chance to reserve any wineries near by so we just walked around the city and came by Casa Cassara. We were promptly seated and checked-in on yelp. Delighted to see that Yelp had a coupon for a get two for one wine tasting. The bartender greeted us and took the time to briefly explain the wine menu. She checked on us often and gave us a quick history of the family behind the wine. The married owners were present at the time talking to friends and customers. The first thing my wife said when we got seated: "it's like a hallmark movie in here" felt like a nice small community and everyone knew each other. We left with a bottle of wine. :-) read more

Came here as a part of a wine tasting trip in January, and the experience was super fun! Had a great chance to chat with Donna, who introduced the winery's history and a bunch of wines to us wine noobs. The tasting room is definitely a little hidden on the side of a building but once you walk in it's a quite homey atmosphere and I love sitting at the counter and try all sorts of wine. Huge shoutout to Donna as she introduced us to the wines and it was just such a fun experience. I'll definitely come back if I'm in Solvang again!! Decided to stop by Solvang on our road trip up to SF. After some lunch, we decided to walk around the streets and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. We are so glad we did! As soon as we entered this cute little winery, we were warmly greeted by Mary. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and helped us choose which wines we liked based on our preferences. She made us feel so comfortable and welcome and even recommended other wineries for us to visit. Regarding the wine, all of the ones we tried were great- they have fabulous reds. It was fun learning about how each one came to be. Our tasters came with 5 each, and Mary allowed us to try more and even gave us BOGO for mentioning that we found them on Yelp! There's a reason this place has 5 stars. There's wine tasting all over Solvang but we came here because of the many good reviews. We walked in around 4:30pm on a Tuesday and there wasn't a huge amount of people here. Make sure you use the Yelp check in because you get to taste 5 wines per person for 20 dollars total! When normally it's 5 wines for 20 dollars per person. They have plenty of good wines to choose from. I prefer red wines so I mostly only tried those. The service was amazing. Mary was by herself and yet still had time to make friendly conversations with everyone. We had an amazing time here and would definitely come back. Came here around Saturday 3-4pm. No outdoor seating, so we sat close to the open door. There's a Yelp check-in deal for buy 1 tasting get 1 free. Price is $20 now, not $15 anymore. The lady still honored the deal but it's $20. Still good! Wines didn't quite impress us but the lady was nice. Nebbiolo is good if you like reds. read more

When our grandfather began making wine in the early 1900s, he didn't let prohibition stop him. Today, we're keeping that passion alive in every bottle. Using recipes and techniques we've crafted over the years, each one of our wines has been fermented and aged to perfection. From our signature Pinot Noir to Sam's Dago Red, named for our grandfather, there's something unique for every palate. Whether you're just joining us for a tasting or you're part of our biannual wine club, our dedication to our wine is clear. History

Established in 1994.

In 1982, our owner Bennie Cassara, purchased a plot of land in the Santa Rita Hills Appellation, as a family retreat. In 1992 the first vineyard of Pinot Noir was planted. Since 1998 we have grown and produced all of our Estate Pinot on the family property. We also produce several other varietals at our winery, ranging from French Rhone, Bordeaux to Burgundy. All of our wines are hand bottled and labeled, quality is a priority! Our wines have been poured at a variety of locations throughout the Valley over the years; since 2007, newly opened in Solvang. Our Tasting Room offers a place to relax and enjoy a glass of our award winning wine. Our friendly staff is knowledgeable and entertaining, we guarantee you an amazing experience!

One heads-up though, don't request ABBA's "Gimme Gimme," it got turned down. Apparently it's played a lot or not a favorite of the owner. I thought it was a bit odd to refuse a song request that isn't vulgar, especially when people are there supporting the business. That said, I'd still recommend stopping by for the drinks, atmosphere, and overall experience.

You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that energy carries throughout the entire winery. One thing we really appreciated was having the option between dry and sweet wine tastings. My wife prefers dry wines while I lean more toward sweet wines, so it was the perfect setup for both of us. Every wine we tried was excellent, but my personal favorite was the Olallieberry wine, the perfect balance of sweetness with just a little tartness. This wasn't just a wine tasting, it was an experience. Great atmosphere, great wine, and even better company. Definitely a 5-star stop and a place we'll be talking about for a long time.

Even when the live music showed up, we couldn't bring ourselves to stick around because the food and wine were so bad. It's true, we did receive a story with our order. I don't care how good the origin story is if the wine sucks. It tasted like the bottle had been open for way too long (understandable given the lack of business) and the wine wasn't good to begin with so being stale didn't help. We were really there for the popcorn flight, which we had read raving reviews about. It was unimpressive to say the least. We kept expecting the flavors to get better but they only got stronger and more candle / soap like as we sampled. It tasted like the popcorn was doused in essential oils, so strong it was choking us to consume the soggy popcorn. Just brutal. I can't say one good thing about that popcorn. The one star I gave them is for the bow wow bag they gave my pup - it was a little goodie bag of milkbones which he appreciated!

The decor is fine.... indoor is pretty but not that large. Outdoor is good but you'd have to weather the elements (too hot or too cold). You really have to like the Santa Ynes valley wines. Otherwise, this won't work for you. It won't have the huge body and big bold hit on the pallette that Nappa wines give you. Otherwise they are OK wines and drinkable. and also the prices are cheaper. Note of caution. Unlike a typical Nappa winery, the cost of tasting does not earn credit or go towards any bottle purchase. I think if you buy 3 or more there is some credit. Also if you have a larger party, they add the 20% gratuity on the gross bill - not on the subtotal. I found out after I paid.

Your local fascist watering hole. A man yelling "White Lives Matter" as clearly disturbed customers look on, could be considered a one off but the "Back the Blue" wall art and the LARGE and centrally placed sign that says "We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service to ANYONE" that has been translated into Spanish makes it clear that the Italian immigrant tradition of this place is more aligned to black shirts than to Ellis Island. The wines are acidic and mediocre. Third place at the OC fair, 4 years ago is about right. read more

I enjoyed the standard tasting flight, which included Grenache Rosé, Hapa Blanc, Tierra Alta Grenache, Ronin and Hapa Red. I can honestly say every single one was good. Normally there's at least one wine that I don't care for, but this tasting flight was probably the best I've tried. The location of this winery is on a ranch. It's beautiful, spacious and located next to a horse ranch. What a bonus! I wandered over to the horses and they let me pet them. I absolutely adored them. Chiquita the cat is also onsite ready to greet you at the parking lot. They offer a small batch of snacks, beverages and charcuterie. You are also allowed to bring your own food. Customer service here is outstanding! Unfortunately, I can't remember the lady that tended to us on our visit, but she was friendly and helpful at explaining each pour. Overall, a gem of a place to check out!

He was very friendly and knowledgeable not only about the wines, but about the estate and the land. The scenery was about as serene and peaceful as one could ask for (I was the only customer there albeit). They only take reservations, which makes sense since they probably would want to control the number of people at any given time and therefore enhance the wine tasting experience. The wines were delicious; I was particularly fond of the Syrah and up getting 3 bottles (which waived my tasting fee). I'm told they have some events during the summer months (live music, food trucks etc.) so I'll be sure to check it out next time. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had so far. Will definitely return again soon!
