While our stay in Santa Barbara, I came across this secluded estate winery online I had to check it out! Cameron assisted us with the wine tasting he was very knowledgeable with the process and history of these particular wines, made it a lovely experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall was nice to relax while soaking in the beauty of the vineyards surrounded by the nature on the property.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wines were delicious we purchased a few bottles Would definitely recommend this experience

We had the best time with Kristen. She was such a knowledgeable wine guide and so easy to chat with. Made my fiancé and I feel so at home like we were longtime friends. Our doggo got along so well with the grounds pup Auggie.I can't believe how gorgeous the location was. We will definitely be back! Became a member and so excited.

This is my favorite spot in all of the valley. I almost hesitate to leave this review because it's such a beautiful little secret. The wines are spectacular (highly-rated by wine spectator). The wine maker, Noah, has really put his heart and soul into this. His meticulous approach has produced such beautiful wines. What really makes this winery special is the people who run it. Kristen is so warm, inviting and knowledgeable. It's easy for an afternoon to slip away at this place. I really love how unpretentious this places is. It manages to be extremely scenic (with a pond in rolling hills all surrounded by beautiful vineyards) while being low-key and inviting. There is not an ounce of corporate vibes here. What a wine tasting experience should be. We immediately became members and everybody that we have brought to this location has followed suit. I would not be surprised if this was one of those places that closes its membership within a year.

This places was beyond amazing! When we drove in, it took all our breath away. We had not seen our best friends in over a year and this place was magical for our first gathering. Kristen was wonderful and the wine were great! We walk away with many bottles and can not wait to go back!!! Bring a picnic!

Dovecote was recommended to us by a friend that lives in The Valley and it was perfection. The wine, atmosphere and overall relaxed, yet sophisticated, vibe was a very special way to spend the afternoon. Kristen is the most gracious hostess, we loved her. It's only been a week since we visited and have already talked about our return. Our wine shipments arrived quickly too- so we will be raising a glass of Dovecote this evening! *Cheers*

Kristin is outstanding as your server, very knowledgeable about the wines. You will not be disappointed with the selection of whites and reds. The pond and country music is a perfect setting.

What an incredible experience to be able to visit and taste wine and this small, privately owned estate winery. Kristen was so kind and hospitable and very knowledgeable about Dovecote and wines overall. As a coastal native she was also helpful with restaurant and other winery recommendations. The setting is amazing and we got to experience a hailstorm while we were there. Thanks for the experience and hospitality!

While…read moreall advertising would suggest this is a friendly, female-focused winery, all staff members our group encountered seemed to be the exact opposite. Our group of 5 all ordered $30 wine tastings where we were not allowed to actually select the wines to taste. When I asked what wines would be included, the server identified several on the menu and unfortunately only half of these ended up being included in the final tasting. As our group began to enjoy our tasting, the staff unexpectedly took our heater away to warm a 2 top table without ever asking our group if we still wanted the heater (we did, it was 50 degrees out). One person in our group brought out a leftover bite of baguette from a previous stop in town and was QUICKLY alerted by the owner with the wag of a finger and note that "they sell food there and she can't bite her own food." The owner waited until my friend put her small bite in her purse before walking away. When checking out, the server told us we'd need to pay via one card only (fine) and proceeded to watch closely as my friend chose her gratuity option (rude). Although we selected a nice 20% tip on the screen prompt, the actual math shook out to a 24% tip without us ever agreeing to it. Short story: - Too expensive - Rude - Performative, white-centric feminism - Not worth visiting when there are so many other great options close by

Good pours and all the wines were low alcohol. They try and make them as natural as possible and are smaller batches than bigger wineries and labels. Friendly service as well. My only critique are the stools, they were really uncomfortable so sitting there for the whole tasting was not fun. We purchased one bottle and could have maybe purchased a couple others but we opted not to. I will also mention that there was a slight push to try and buy bottles at the end. Stopping short of saying "you should buy some bottles" but a lot of "nudges" and "hints" about buying bottles. We would definitely come back to try other pours.

I'm not one for white wines and I even loved their white varietals, so that should speak volumes! The staff member during our visit was very friendly and had excellent taste in music. The pours were generous as well, more so than a usual wine tasting! It was fun to sip wine and they even let us pick a vinyl to play while we visited. We were so impressed by the wine that we even joined their wine club. I can't wait to receive the first shipment! I'm also already planning our next visit to this tasting room, which is located in an awesome one road town. Located across the street from The Alamo Motel, where we stayed for the weekend, so we just walked across the street for our tasting. It really doesn't get much better than that! I definitely suggest making a trip to this charming wine tasting room and finding out for yourself what a treasure it is.

Standard Flight: $20/3 pours…read more This review covers two visits, one midweek in 2025 and one two weeks ago on a Friday. It's an interesting setup, as there is a separate room for Lumen Wines, however we were told that the tastings are done at the adjoining Pico restaurant. The nice thing is that because of the restaurant, you can do the tastings later in the day, after the other wineries in town have closed. I also noticed on their website that there's a garden patio as well. My one gripe is that on both visits, no one directly related to the wines was there to interact with us. The restaurant's staff provided all the tastings and wine info. WINES: Lumen's wines are hand-crafted with minimal intervention and made from grapes sourced from sustainable local vineyards, and their estate vineyards, which are farmed organically. Usually, this would make me skeptical, as wines like that do not typically match my wife and my palates. So, on our first visit, we tried a flight of their wines ('21 Chardonnay, '21 Pinot Noir, and a '21 Grenache), including a couple extra pours, like their Escence orange wine and the "Hey Ginger" Pet Nat. On this past visit, Pico was offering a 20th Anniversary special: a French Fries appetizer and a bottle of wine (your choice) for $30, so we opted to get a bottle of the '23 SBC Chardonnay which was excellent. All the wines were well-made, and I really enjoyed them, especially the Ginger Pet Nat, which was quite unique. Of course we took a couple bottles home with us. Overall, it's a nice winery to stop in and enjoy a tasting, glass, or bottle with lunch or dinner.
