Final Girl Wines was a must stop for me while visiting Solvang! Final Girl Wines is located in the heart of Solvang and is a funky addition to this magical little town. I am a huge horror fan so I was beyond excited to check them out over the weekend! The inside and vibe was all I could hope for and more! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and found a table to sit at and enjoy our time. There were only a few tables plus bar seating available so it was nice and cozy. I loved seeing all of the horror memorabilia, decor and merchandise throughout including the killer Ghostface mask and Halloween pinball machine. My husband ordered a glass of their Cab which he loved and I ordered a Vamperol Spritz - they were even kind enough to make our daughter a mocktail. They even brought her over a Nightmare Before Christmas activity kit to keep busy and we bought a Michael Myers sticker as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas hair clip to take home. I'm kicking myself now for not buying a t-shirt! Kids are very welcome at this winery which was a huge plus for us! Staff were personable and made our visit very enjoyable! Final Girl Wines also offers tasting flights and non-alcoholic options as well! They do not offer food, but there are so many great places in Solvang to check out. First stop in solvang and we came here. A great surprise. The best mix of classic horror and wine tasting variety. We did the Tasting Flight and man, it was a surprise. The house wine mix of white and red was great. We got a bottle of their house made SAUVIGNON BLANC and would buy another. Chip was amazing. This is such a cool little tasting room in Solvang! As a horror fan, myself, this place definitely called to me and the wines are pretty good too. The decor is very much horror inspired but not overdone. As for the wines, we tried rosé, sauv blanc, chardonnay, and petite verdot. Yhe petite verdot was the standout and surprised the hell out of me. It doesn't mean the other wines weren't good, though. I can't say I've thought of sipping vino while shopping at the Halloween store, but this is as close as you'll get. The 5 stars are for the unique spooky ambience, and for the very lovely and friendly gentleman who was pouring. He was the only one serving and yet still made the time to chat with everyone and answer some questions about the wine. As for the wine..with full disclosure I will say I'm not the biggest fan of the tasting rooms in this area. For all the potential of the Santa ynez valley grapes, I wish I could get a taste of a more mature vintage and not the super tight bottles that seem to always show up in the tasting rooms. If you like spooky vibes then you must check out Final Girl Wines! Especially during the month of October, because of their horror themed decor. This place is located on the Main Street in Solvang and next to the bookstore. I love how dark, mysterious and intimate this winery is. It gives a speak easy vibe, even though it's not. They also have merch for sale, such as jewelry, playing cards, tote bags and t-shirts. On my visit, I ordered a glass of Sangiovese red wine. It was light bodied and smooth. Very pleasing on the palette and enjoyable. The customer service here was friendly and attentive. The flight tastings are pretty reasonable here too and range from $25-$30. When I saw the sign (cue Ace of Bass!) for Final Girl, I thought it was a board game shop selling the game of the same name. Turns out, I was partially right. While it does share a name with a famous tabletop game (which they DO sell here, FYI), this Final Girl is more merlot than Monopoly; more Sauvignon than Settlers of Catan; more Chardonnay than Carcassonne; you get the idea. Instead, this horror-themed tasting room is part of an independent local wine manufacturer (i.e. they do not have their own farm, but instead purchase their grapes from multiple sources, in order to craft their own custom creations), and what they do, they do very well. From the get-go, we were charmed by the incredible Carlos, the attendant who, despite his young years, knew more about wine than most people we have encountered in such places that are double, even triple his age! We immediately built a rapport with him, as did everyone else who ventured inside after us. Beyond the killer service, the wines we sampled were also to die for! My wife ended up ordering a glass of their grenache; a new decoction that actually hadn't officially hit the market yet, which was unfortunately, because we absolutely would have purchased a bottle of it! Even myself, being not the biggest fan of reds, was enamored with it! Of course, I discovered this too late, as I had already ordered a wine cocktail featuring a devilishly delicious rosé, which was thankfully just as wonderful! Final Girl Wines in the kind of sanguine sanctuary that my wife and I seek out, wherever we go...although to be fair, the dark, moody ambiance of this place was not something I expected to find in Solvang! But we are sure glad that we did! Final Girl Wines is easily among our top favorite tasting rooms we've encountered, hands down, anywhere! Finishing up at another tasting room, we turned to Yelp to see where we wanted to visit next. Our server asked where we were headed and I said Final Girl, she gushed about how awesome it was and gave us two 2 for 1 tasting cards, sweet! Their tastings are $25 each, so she saved us $50! It would be easy to miss this place, in fact, we walked right past it. It's front is tiny and has black windows. Inside is also dark and horror movie themed, it was cool! They played spooky music and have the whole "Halloween" vibe down. We sat at a table and the server came over to pour and explain each wine. They have a cool menu book with the list of wines, you can choose 5 out of the 10 they offer. Between all of us, we tried all 10 of them. I ended up purchasing their Petit Verdot and Sparkling Rose of Grenache to take home. This is a uniquely themed tasting room and I would definitely stop here again on my next Solvang trip. read more

From the moment we arrived Kip was welcoming and informative. He really painted a picture when describing the wines and pairing. The environment was perfect for us four (two couples) to enjoy light conversation and a flight. The decor was just right. It was not off putting for us non-horror fans but present enough for those who do. The wine was delicious and refreshing. We did white/red flights. Very unique winery in the heart of Solvang. The bartender is the husband of the owner and he is hilarious! We ordered two flights each and he told us about the wines and where they were from. The atmosphere in this place is so much fun! Its like Batcave 80s Goth with a twist, and they sell really cool stuff like horror candles here. They draw a really great crowd of fun loving people. Carlos was incredibly knowledgeable and made each pour distinct with cool facts about the wine making process behind each one AND information on what foods each wine is best paired with. He made the experience so fun and just knew so much about everything. What a spoooky cool find! On a trip to Solvang I was researching places to explore and upon learning it was Latina owned plus horror I was sold right away. I love that everything within the town of Solvang is walking distance from my hotel and it was about a 7 minute walk. I found Michael Myers hanging outside, so I knew I made it lol. Upon walking in there is so much to see and I just loved the overall vibe. There were two girls in there plus the bartender, Carlos I believe his name was. He was very welcoming. As always I asked for a sweet wine, and was told they serve spritz there which would be similar to the Baja Blast, I was willing to try it. It was perfect and a great drink to just chill and sip and enjoy the scenery. Being a Sunday it closed at 6:00p.m. so I made sure to get there with ample time to enjoy. There were pinball machines one of which was Halloween, really neat paintings and sculptures of all things horror. Although they were closing people kept trickling in. I found the best spot to hang, by the moving fireplace, and Carlos was even nice enough to let me borrow the charging outlet. I asked about later spots and there were a few restaurants and drink spots. I loved the items to purchase and just take in. I remember Carlos stating to people that he studied wine for 10 years and seemed very insightful about the variety of wines. Final Girl wines is in honor of the girls that make it through the end of the movie. Given how much of the businesses close by 6:00 p.m. I had to pick and chose but so glad I settled "finally" with Final Girl Wines. read more

Took my cousin for the 1st time to Solvang. She LOVES horror stuff. Got excited to try wine and best better than a horror wine shop. The wall colour was pretty but was a little unimpressed with the amount of horror stuff. Maybe having a horror movie on the back corner playing silent would be cool or more Halloween decorations? Somthing was missing. The chimney was cool though. Anyways, shop opened over an hour late. Came back a few times and noticed it was opened. We were the 1st customers in. My main issue is only the owner was not paying attention to not only us (party of 4) but also the couple in the front and the back corner. Gave all his attention to the people at the bar. I dont drink wine and wanted to learn more or at least which wine I like. He couldn't keep up with pouring my wine flight. Waited way too long for pours. Very little explanation of the wine or suggested pairings. And mentioned more than once "I forgot about you". My party was fed up wanted to leave after they finished their spritzers and glass but I was flight pour 3 out of 5. He did not asked if they wanted more drinks. My partner got tired of waiting and headed over to the counter for 10 minutes before being helped to pay since he did not go to our the table. I'm glad we decided to not eat there who knows how long we would have waited on food. I double the Suggestion from another post hire some additional help. Horror movie nerds: this is your tasting room. Spooky goth decor with movie memorabilia from all the classics adorn the walls. We sat at a ouija board ottoman, and I felt like I was home. The wine mixers were delicious - the Xeno Blood especially. The wine selection was delicious, and we left with a bottle of their Sangiovese, which paired well with some peanut M&Ms and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
