Casa De Pasta is our regular family restaurant that we've been going to regularly for years. The food is always good and the prices reasonable. I generally stick to the pastas which are cheap, include a basic salad, and always good. Shrimp dishes are great. This is not fine dining but I think if you're somewhat local and you go once, you'll go back. And, it's friendly. You'll always be greeted warmly. They also have take out. Went twice in my entire life....the service was okay and the only really good food was the garlic bread. I ordered the Cavatelli con Broccoli and the pasta itself was very, very bland. There was supposed to be garlic in it, but I couldn't taste it at all. The others with me all ordered the same thing - the lemon-lime veal - the portions were small and not very good at all! Our waitress was pretty aloof and not really interactive in the slightest. She didn't make the experience too wonderful. The pasta tasted like something I would have made out of a box at home. I've eaten here quite a few time, maybe 8 or so. The first time I came, I hated it (and so did my husband). The name is cheesy, and the decor is strange to me for an Italian restaurant, it's got a ski chalet pub kind of feel to it. We decided to try it again a few months later, and we liked the food a lot more...we are not sure why, maybe we just ordered the 2 worst things on the menu the first time! This is not upscale Italian dining, but more classic homestyle. True, as on review says, the pasta that comes with a meat entree is not particularly good. But the entrees are generally good, I like their chicken and veal items a lot. They have nice sauces on their meat dishes. Is it the best Italian in the area? No. But generally speaking, their food is pretty good...I'd give it a try! read more

My family has been going here for at least 25 years and we have never had a bad meal. It's comfort Italian food and it's delicious. The restaurant is not fancy, and can easily be missed if you don't know where it is. The entrees come with a salad, and I always have the creamy Italian dressing, it's consistently good. Not too creamy and just the right amount on the salad, which includes celery and radishes, two of my favorite salad additions. In the last couple of years they have updated the inside by adding a wood floor, taking away the step between the two dining rooms and adding tvs to all of the corners of the restaurant. It really lightened the place up and makes it more inviting. There is a small bar area, that seats about 10 with room for 1 person behind them. There is also a small waiting area with a couple of chairs on the wall when you walk in. We usually go early, to beat the crowds. We go there at 5:15 on Sunday and by the time we left (6:30) there was a wait. There is plenty of parking, they have their own lot. For dinner I had the Chicken Valdostano, which is chicken with spinach topped with mozzarella cheese (I opted out of the pancetta) with a white wine brown sauce over spaghetti. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tender, and the dish was exactly what I had craved. My mom had the Shrimp Matteo, her usual order, and it's fabulous. The shrimp are big, and there is plenty of spinach and mozzarella and sauce for the angel hair she has it come with. Each entrée (if it's not a pasta dish) comes with a side of penne with marinara, but we always opt to have our pasta included in the dish itself (no extra charge). We all had drinks, and they are very reasonably priced. The service is always great, we have seen the same staff for almost as many years as we have been coming, so that says something to me about management. For 3 dinners with at least 6 drinks, the total was $145 with tip. We already can't wait to come back! read more

Good food, they do not take reservations and there is always a long wait. Our waitress was prob in her late 40's early 50's and her skirt was better fit for some one in there early 20's every time she bent over at the table across from us everyone would look away in fear of seeing to much... They do not manage a rush very well we waited almost an hour to be seated an additional 15 mins for drinks once at the table. We did not get our appetizers until we were sitting there for a good half hour already dinner came out around the one hour mark at the table and about 2 minutes after dinner came out our check was put on the table...... Good food but it was a first and last visit for us. read more

My husband and I go out to eat quite often and dine at a variety of restaurants. Casa De Pasta is definitely not the fanciest we've ever eaten at, but has become my favorite by far. The place won me over a long time ago. The food rivals Grandma's Italian home cooking and the atmosphere is relaxed and very comfortable- a good family restaurant. They'll do half portions for kids or adults that aren't that hungry. My husband gets the Veal Patricia religiously and I like to try different specials. Last time I had the tilapia with lobster that was out of this world. We love the calamari appetizer and believe me my husband's an expert ...he imports seafood in the Fulton Fish Market and knows good calamari! You can also enjoy a drink from the bar with your dinner if you like (Faith makes a mean Cosmo- my personal favorite). The staff is very friendly and super attentive. We bring our autistic son in all the time and they always make us feel welcomed... all-in-all, a very well run establishment. I give it two thumbs up! read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place. The decor is horrendous. I get they are trying to do a old world/old school Italian restaurant but it's dark and looks dirty. There are basically no window in the entire restaurant. The food was just all around bad. I ordered eggplant parm. When my dinner arrived the tomato sauce had a funny smell and once I tasted it I realized why. The sauce was almost metallic tasting and the eggplant was flavorless. My dinner came with a side of ziti. Nothing irritates me more than when a restaurant doesn't mix the pasta and sauce together. As soon as I see the sauce sitting on top of the pasta I can pretty much guarantee the food is going to be terrible and this was no exception. No authentic italian restaurant would leave sauce sitting on top of overcooked ziti. Anyway the positive about this restaurant was the service. I can't believe some these reviews about the décor. I having been going here for over 20 years and I love this place. The food is very good at reasonable prices. The service is excellent. I think they have the best tomato sauce in the area. The décor is old but it doesn't bother me. It's clean and I like the atmosphere. Some people are worried about stupid stuff. I have to say, this year has been very difficult for me and my family, we lost 8 family members and 4 are in the hospital, everyone with different things. Two weeks ago my beautiful friend lost her mother. We are in a very sad mood. She called me to invite us for dinner, and even thou was snowing, my husband and I went with her and her husband to Casa de Pasta. I just have to say, the place, the friendly waiters, the fantastic "Shrimp Mateo" and the warm company of my friends had been the best ot 2012. I am sure I will come back again! Hands down ,Casa de Pasta is the best Italian restaurant!! Every time we have a family get together, they all ask...where we going for dinner. I always say..Casa de Pasta!! I mean, why mess with perfection? I always get the chicken saltanbacca, omg!! Out of this world!! So is everything they make. I have tried Al oast everything on their menu and it's all fantastic. The restaurant is charming, nice ambiance, the servers always wonderful. It's definately going to be busy on the weekends..because..it's the place to go. I will be there tomorrow picking up some of their sauce. I moved 1.5 hours away, but still have family there. When I'm in the area, I buy a bunch and freeze it. Whenever I want, boom, penne a la vodka..to die for and all I did was cook the pasta!!! It's my favorite place!! read more

1star is 1 too many. Stopped for dinner inside was dark dirty and musty. Veal tasted like a patty we were told it wasn't the shrimp had a very fishy odor which tells me it's wasn't fresh the service from both the waitress and bartender was good but for the money will never come back.
