This place was amazing!!!! The food just kept coming out... one dish better than the next!!! I had gnudi for the first time and it was one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure of eating... the entire table was fighting over them so they brought even more out and we all got to take a few home. That's how good it was!!! I'll be going back just for those delicious, heavenly, pillowy balls of goodness!!!

I now understand why there are less than 20 reviews here.... I'd say most of the people dining are probably not familiar with apps like yelp for example. But I love it like that. On Friday night, needed to wait about 10min for a table. But do call ahead of time cause the my can start putting your name down while you are on your way. Thanks to those who suggested the braised short ribs and brick chicken. Especially the brick chicken... They are so good, perfectly cooked, seasoned and portioned. We could have skipped the salad which was just so so. Our neighboring table ordered a cappuccino that looks divine so we had to have one ourselves. Good call. They are not Byob. The wine by the glass is generously poured. For 2, the bill came to be 80 before tips.

I've been going to Toscana for years. It is a great experience, and the food is our favorite. The burrata mozzarella is awesome, fried calamari are always tender, and salads are delicious. Pic is of the shrimp special with zucchini risotto. I added the grated cheese. It was awesome! My favorite entree is the steak Pepe which is their version of steak au poivre. I have to tell you that I try the same dish whenever I see it on the menu. I travel all over the country, and Toscana's au poivre is hands down the best I've ever had. That includes 150 a head steak houses! All of their pasta dishes and risottos are tremendous. Their bologonese is also the best we've ever had. The salmon is great. I love the mustard sauce. My wife's favorite is the cod Livornese, which I also enjoy very much. Trattoria Toscana is an experience. The staff does not wear fancy ties, nor do they greet you with fake smiles or pretentious attitudes. What they offer is tremendous food, authentic service, and a familial place simply to enjoy an amazing meal with friends and family. Try anything on the menu from chicken to fish to veal to pasta to steak. I hope that you enjoy it as much as my family and I do.

    Veal escalopes milanes. Amazing.

For my cocktail, I had the Lucco sangria, which had red wine, chicha morada, pineapple and mint. It was a unique spin on sangria that tasted fantastic. For a starter, I ordered the octopus, which was bursting with flavor from the various components. The octopus was very tender and practically melted in my mouth. For my entree, I had the pesto bucatini dish with shrimp. The dish tasted fantastic and every component complemented each one perfectly. The portion was very generous as well. Although I was full, I still made room for dessert. The tiramisu was fantastic and one of the best that I've had. Overall, I had an incredible experience at Lucco and highly recommend it. One note is that the parking lot fills up quickly on weekend evenings, so there are limited options.

For entrées, we had the pork chop Milanese, branzino, and lasagna, and all were excellent. The lasagna, though, deserves its own moment. It might be the best I've had in 47 years of life. The presentation is unique--served bubbling, gooey, and packed with flavor. There's some kind of X-factor going on that takes it to another level. I don't think I'll have a better lasagna anywhere. My wife is picky about meatballs and loved them, and I'm usually tough on octopus but thought it was great. Our server Luca was great--nice guy who took the time to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything. We also had the chance to meet the owner, who was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the place. Can't wait to come back.

The salad was good, but I was surprised by how tasty the soup was. The entrees came pretty quickly. The steak with mushroom on top was so delicious. The steak was so tender. The fries were very good. The chicken pot pie was very large and yummy. Service was attentive. Definitely make a reservation if you have a large party. Will definitely come back.

Despite the crowd, the two of us were whisked to a table surprisingly fast. The overall ambiance is modern and sleek, except for the room we were seated in. It featured an aggressive wall of tacky, fake plastic flowers that practically screamed, "We had five minutes left on our design budget and a Michaels coupon." Our server was nice enough but radiated the quiet panic of a person fighting for their life on a busy shift. Skip the drinks (sober life for me), we dove straight into the mains. My girlfriend ordered the Impossible Burger, and I went with the steak entree served over sweet potato wedges. It came with an "interesting" sauce that I was skeptical about, but it actually pulled the whole dish together nicely. Both meals were cooked perfectly to order. I wouldn't call it the most memorable culinary experience of my life, but the food tasted good and the pricing was very reasonable. The only real shock came at the end: this place moves tables with NASCAR-pit-crew efficiency. Our server literally snatched my plate out from under me as I was chewing my final bite. I've never had my food repossessed mid-swallow before, but hey, you have to respect the hustle. It is definitely a solid, family-friendly spot, and we will absolutely be back. (I'll just hold onto my plate tighter next time).

Cocktails were pretty good too - some a little on the sweet side but, again, somethin' for everyone theme throughout. Tonight we enjoyed the risotto as an appetizer and the beet salad - both delicious. Some others in our party had the mushroom soup - tasty and a huge portion. For entrees, my wife asked them to make an off-menu gnocchi bolognese and they obliged - and she was quite pleased with it. I had the gnocchi special with chunks of short rib - impossible to ever go wrong with anything with short rib! Very tasty! Our friends had a variety of pasta and veal dishes - the veal chop special was Wow! All enjoyed their choices. We skipped on dessert because everyone usually climbs into my SUV "bus" for ice cream somewhere nearby. The adventure continues! This is a rough business. It's so hard for a single restaurant to stay in business for this long but Eccola has stayed relevant in an uber-competitive North Jersey market. Eccola means "Here She Is!". However, we did have to wait a solid half hour past our reservation time with no apology. Our waiter was unfriendly, if not rude. Grilled calamari came out lukewarm at best but was tasty. Mussels good but nothing special. Great complimentary bread. We all really enjoyed our entrees - salmon, orecchiette, and clams over linguine. Chocolate mouse cake was good but the biscotti pretty standard. Place was busy with a nice vibe.
