Inside is a medium sized restaurant decorated with orange walls and wood with larger paintings on the walls, the feeling is nicely Mexican without being hokey or over the top. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. I ordered the #4 lunch special, a Chile Relleno with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were quickly brought to the table; both were ok the chips were fresh and the salsa was thick and mild, I did add some hot sauce to spice it up. My lunch came out very quickly, the plate was pretty and the food was nicely fresh and hot. The Chile Relleno was interesting, with no batter and a very mild chili pepper. The Salsa Verde on top was bright and vibrant. The beans and salsa were both good with mild flavors and nice texture. Overall the food was good, although the flavors were a bit muted for my taste. Agavero is a nice place to grab some solid Mexican food, but I did find the food to be a bit tame. Prices are good and the service was great, but I am always looking for bright and exciting flavors.

We started with the guacamole, then had the Camarones al Ajillo and Camarones a la Diabla for our entrées. The portions were generous, everything came out fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. As someone who was born and raised in Mexico and is also a chef, I naturally have high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. While it's not the exact style of authentic Mexican cuisine I grew up with, I still enjoyed the meal for what it is. The flavors were good, and I felt the quality matched the price. The Camarones a la Mama Goya are shrimp with zucchini, squash, onions and tomatoes well cooked and pretty tasty. The beans and rice were ok, the to go beans were actually thicker and worked well as part of the meal. The shrimp meal was pretty good and the portion was good enough to make two meals. I was looking forward to trying Coyote's, the lunch was disappointing and the to go shrimp was OK, overall the rating is about 2 1/2, just alright but nothing special. Of course you may have a much different experience. Not the type of place for you if you are looking for anything cutting edge or for big flavors.
