Staff was so kind and helpful. Everything there looks and tastes great. Was my first time but I can't wait to come back

    Chile Verde

Stoppedninbere from the good reviews on YP. This time my fellow YP's were correct! I had the chile verde which came out in a large portion of shredded pork covered in green sauce. Although there was good flavor, the tomatillo sauce was mild. The rice and beans also tased good and were hot. The rice tasted freshly prepared. My horchata was really good, almost to frothy, creamy like a shake. The chips were excellent being served warm and fresh. The salsa was Ok. I was surprised to see no Hispanics and think it may be to the pricing for lunch. I was even check on twice after the food was delivered Overall great stop!

Burrito Fresa al pastor.,.. this was a delicious dish!

Beautiful combo Mexican grocery / taqueria - food was delicious. Cool atmosphere with tons of local Mexican families and culture. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive. We had such a nice time. Grocery too - we might cook our own burritos, but next week because the burritos we got for lunch were MASSIVE!! :-) Great business. Will be back.

When I walked into this taco place I felt like I was back in Mexico. The selections are very authentic and good. Prices reflect the portion sizes. The service was amazing, very kind and attentive. The seating area isn't anything fancy but allowed for full visual of what was going on behind the counter which was exciting to watch the preparation of multiple fruit, ice cream and beverages.

The queso with chorizo is absolutely delicious and so is the Caesar's Salad. Very flavorful. Great service as well.

It doesn't get more authentic than this! Birria, molcajete, elote, they have it all! The Birria tacos were stuffed so full I could only finish one! My husband got a taco platter kind of do your own and he said it's some of the most flavorful tacos he's ever had. They have a cute little store/market attached!

The red is freaking hot. The salsa is really good.

Nice taqueria. Best I've found in Akron. The salsa roja is pretty hot. Muy caliente. The food is good and I believe could be excellent. I think the execution was lacking on my visit. The chorizo could be crispier. The tripe was excellent. The pastor needs to be seared a bit. Would not travel for this but would stop in if driving by.

    Wet burrito!

This place offers a somewhat limited menu, but the items they do have are great! They do have quite a selection of meats that are authentic such as tongue, cheek, and other meats. The prices are somewhat reasonable, and the portions of most items are large. My most recent order was their large wet burrito, which is huge! It's a small place, so seating is limited. You should give this place a try. The people here are very friendly.

Solid Mexican food and good service. Loved the margaritas and queso. Cute little market and bakery next door.

It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days. The food. The food is very good. We tried three different wing flavors. The house made buffalo, the Thai chili, and the citrus jerk wings. They fell off the bone and were delicious. I would have to say the best wings I've had, these really did stand out, and would say they are worth trying. They are a bit pricier than other places wings, but the flavor is there. What we really came here for was the burger, we've been trying every place that the Akron Beacon Journal did a tournament for to determine our own favorite, without nostalgia influencing our decisions. The burger was fantastic. The meat is seasoned well and the bread was soft and fluffy. The sauce tasted homemade and unique, but didn't take away from the burger. The pickles on it as well are homemade or made from a company nearby, but they're also very good and different than any you get at the store. I will definitely be back. This was very good on a day where we stopped at 3 places and this happened to be the last.

The size of the tables is fucking offensive. How the hell are you gonna bring me big ass bowls of wings and cram them onto a table better suited for a dollhouse!? If you want to be comfortable while you eat, avoid this place. Someone, PLEASE tell me why I can get legit ass tableware and glassware but they bring the most impotent, minuscule, microplastic laden, to go ramekins for the blue cheese or ranch! REAL ASS RAMEKINS EXIST! Someone give them some, because that plastic shit is disgusting and stupid. The food? Also terrible. Onion dip - bland Apricot bbq sauce - tastes like fermented gym socks Jerk - NOT A DRY FUCKING RUB! The heat so overpowered the entire sauce that the remaining herb flavors were obliterated. Whomever thought to call this "jerk" should be taken to the birthplace of jerk seasoning and be publicly humiliated. The ONLY decent sauce they have is Buffalo. They should take the rest of their menu back to the fucking drawing board. The service was just barely competent. I get so damn tired of pretentious motherfucking restaurants more interested in a cute logo than providing great food, great service, and comfortable seating. Oh, and fuck accessibility. NOTHING about this place is accessible. Two stars so this review isn't buried, but the place should be fire bombed.
