Beautiful everything, Puerto Vallarta was such a nice surprise we loved every minute of it especially the hotel laid back, clean close to the beach just the perfect getaway I was looking for!

This is an adults only hotel. If you're looking for a late night party and bar scene, this ain't it. It's not a resort. It's a nice, quiet hotel tucked away from all the commercial BS. If you want to feel the romance and don't mind the intimacy of a small hacienda style room, then you found it.

    Excellent food nearby.

I just stayed there for a week. We got an incredible Trip Advisor deal $700 for airfare and 7 nights (direct flight from LAX that was on time both ways). It was clean and pretty quiet, an adult only hotel with a great view from the rooftop pool. Manuel at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Lamar, the manager/concierge, was so helpful. She got us a fabulous driver, Isidro, who took us all day up north to San Pancho, Salulita and other pristine beaches. He took us to Bucerias where the stuff normally peddled to tourists was about half price. Isidro made some great restaurant recommendations really making our stay more in the know of places locals flock to. All were way less $ than most places in the Zona Romantica. My friend and I had a two bedroom on the ground floor. The space was a touch cramped, but very comfortable and clean. There are two sister hotels across the way. We did not get the all inclusive package that would have given us pool access to Los Arcos, but I'm okay with that. We were able to use the pool at the other sister hotel right across the street. There were daily optional activities including aqua aerobics, yoga and bingo. The hotel is off the main drag of a very bustling gay area, but the hotel was definitely not a gay hotspot. It did not feel homophobic as one male couple had reported. Casa Dona Susana is one block from in from the beach which was great. There was no throbbing disco music heard that is prevalent on the beachfront. I will return there because of the wonderful presence of Manuel and Lamar, the quiet, the rooftop pool, the central location, the quaint environment and the Trip Advisor package deal. Give it a try.

    Adults only,yay!

Casa Doña Susana is a sister property to family-oriented Hotel Playa Los Arcos and Los Arcos Suites a block away. Playa Beach and chairs passes were provided. Casa Doña Susana is adults-only which in our book was the absolute best thing about the hotel! The roofdeck and pool were absolutely relaxing and peaceful, with no shrieking kids. Perfect for us! We kept our pool cocktail waitress busy with non-stop piña colada and margarita orders, especially when she announced 2-4-1 time! She had to go downstairs, down the block to the other hotel and beach bar. We were surprised our hotel didn't have bar service especially on the roof where there is a place for it. But we were grateful for her runs and noted she also had to service the beach goers. Our concierge was also friendly, helped phone dinner reservations, and even provided poolside white gloves cleaning service for our sunglasses! The rooms are adorned in traditional Mexican furnishings. The bathrooms are adequate, and friendly maids serviced daily. Our closets had a musty odor so we had to wash everything in hot water when we got home. That was the only odd thing. Everything else was great.

It's not my way to do things but, it's going to be 1 Star. Unfortunately this Hotel is way to noisy. The service people star way to early and finish way to late like 7am and 11pm. I went as far as sending an email to management and received a very nice email. I figure the she would make a change (Mrs. Padilla) yet it continue for an additional two nights. The staff would yell across the floors (it's a patio style hotel) and came across like not really caring about the guest in the hotel. We really real the actual hotel they just need to improve the noise issues. Also, we where in room 104 and there was constant noise coming from the outside AC vents. All night every night. I should also mention the any time room 204 flush, yup we knew about it... we will be reading review next time.. I will add that the pool is very relaxing....

There is a definite catholic influence on the decor. This was the painting in my room so literally Jesus had my back.

A buddy of mine had recommended this delightful hotel and I'm glad I stayed here. It has the old world charm and had the most comfortable bed I've ever been in throughout my hotel l stays of the past. The pillows were just right additionally. I had opted for the all inclusive package which included my drinks and food. This came in handy especially early mornings when the rest of my crew were asleep and I could meet a few friends for coffee on the beach while the others pulled themselves together lol. The rooftop pool was great especially since they do not allow children. The sister resorts have a large family pool with great views by the way. The air conditioner worked excellent because I happened to be there end of May and it was a bit on the warmer side. The atrium was great feature a the birds were singing. What a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning. Now don't get me wrong the rooms are small but mine included a refrigerator a safe and a good size bathroom. I had would appear to be at 22 inch flatscreen also in the corner which I did not use because I was in Puerto Vallarta and had other things to go do besides watch TV. Would definitely return again

This is our first time in Puerto Vallarta and this Hotel was definitely what we expected. Very traditional style decor and ambiance room service was fantastic when we needed something and the staff was exceptionally hospitable Marisol was very helpful and professional. I've read reviews complaining about small things including the decor first off your coming to MEXICO IT'S NOT YOUR HOME!! if you want modern conveniences stay in Nuevo Vallarta this part of the city is still very traditional we had a pleasant stay here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to be in the center of everything

This is a sweet, cozy little place. My room was perfect. A/C, cute little balcony, fridge, comfy bed. The staff is friendly and the beach is a block away. The atrium is beautiful and the rooms circle the entire space. Oh, did I mention the rooftop patio with the pool?? Fab!!

A beautiful celebration welcoming you to Mexico. Fast forward a couple months later, we're here and trying it out.... First off, location is AMAZING. Literally right in the heart of the Romantic Zone. Everything is literally footsteps and minutes away. You have the beach a few minutes walk down. As well as the well known Los Muertos Pier. Restaurant one after the other next door to you and across the street. Not only that, bars are all walking distance. Either at the corner or half a block away. Even though it's central to everything, it wasn't crazy noisy. Check in was a breeze. We got dropped off with uber. It's a one way street so it made it simple but parking is tricky there if you're driving. Right when you walk in, that's where you'll be greeted with the beautiful color crochet canopy. We arrived early and were offered early check in and late check out with our booking status. Not only that, we were offered two rooms to choose from and to top it off. A beautiful welcoming with a bottle of wine. Property is pretty much lined with plants and flowers surrounding the area. I believe it's three maybe four level. There is a pool, it's small but does the trick for a boutique hotel. Sun lounges around it as well as on an upper deck for sunbathing. There's a massive mango tree that's right in front and does offer fruits which are left out for anyone to take. Check in was a breeze, with the sweet lady that was working. They do have a lock and safe box in front private room. It was 300 peso deposit and you receive it after you return the ticket slip at end of visit. Same as beach towels, believe it was 200 pesos deposit. Room itself, pretty basic as it's a boutique hotel. Affordable which was nice. They had Airbnb similar but this visit we didn't want to have to do everything ourself. Hence a hotel with housekeeping. Big king size bed with a sofa/futon. Bathroom was basic with a shower. Sink was small. It does need some renovation but did the trick. You have complimentary toiletry which was just basic. There wasn't an iron, blow dryer or safe in room. Traditional Hispanic vibes decorated the room. There's of course ac and a small tv mounted to the wall near ceiling. You're able to connect to your streaming channels from your phone. We did have to figure out how to change the language preferences. Overall, rooms do need some updating. Property was beautiful with all the lush plants and flowers. Courtyard with the beautiful colorful canopy and tables outside. Decent pool for lounging, it's not that deep. There's a community fridge and kitchen area. Power did go out for a bit which left the tv unable to come on but we were heading out for the evening. Minor glitch. There is construction a couple doors down but didn't bother us as we were out majority of the day. And a restaurant literally right next door for breakfast and lunch. Would I stay again, yes. It's a nice friendly affordable place. Perfect location for everything. Had all the necessity, safe which can be utilized in private room at the lobby. I'm sure dryer and iron can be brought up to room. But the stay was great.

There is a jigger there if you are making yourself some thing so you can be exact on what you took. In the afternoon when there are a few guests enjoying the sun, they do have someone actually coming around to the pool while you are in it asking if you would like anything. They have a Jacuzzi that is available that is right on the river. One just needs to ask them to turn on and give them a half an hour to get it at a perfect temperature. Such a deal as it was in a quiet residential neighborhood but within easy walking distance to popular restaurants and bars as well as the Malecon. For three nights, we stayed on the second floor in the purple and gray Korvette room which had a comfortable Queen bed and a nice balcony overlooking the river. It was a bucolic woodsy setting with birds chirping and the sporadic rumble of motor scooters below us. The entire hotel was decorated to the hilt with eccentric bric-a-brac that must surely reflect the eclectic taste of the owner. The hotel's homey vibe extended even to the house cat who had its own Victorian brass bed. We took advantage of the complimentary margaritas available upon arrival. The bartender was up on the rooftop terrace on the seventh floor. The sunset view was spectacular, and there was a small lap pool that looked inviting had it been able to accommodate more than one swimming guest at a time. RELATED - Exploring Puerto Vallarta? But after seeing some of the mixed feedback now, I was honestly surprised. It seems like this place can be very hit or miss. Thankfully for us, it was definitely a hit. We were there for three nights, and overall had a great experience. Our main complaint would be the food, which we found to be mediocre overall, though there were definitely a couple of standouts. Next time, I'd skip the buffet except for the freshly made stations, which were the only part consistently worth it. We really enjoyed the teppanyaki at Tamari, and the fish and shrimp tacos from Blaze were so good we had them twice during our stay. On the other hand, dinner at Blaze was unremarkable and we were disappointed with the pizza and zeppole from Melanzane, though we didn't get to try anything else there. I do wish we had stayed an extra night or two to explore more of the dining options, though based on what we experienced, we may not have missed out on too much. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Rafael at the club lounge bar and Lizbeth at reception - both were a pleasure and made our stay even more enjoyable. I was also surprised by the size of the gym and the variety of equipment. I made sure to get at least one workout in and really appreciated the incredible ocean views while doing so. We visited in February and never felt like the resort was overcrowded. In fact, some restaurants seemed surprisingly empty at times. One thing worth noting: they have pickleball courts and a basketball court, which we didn't see advertised anywhere. We would've packed our pickleball gear had we known, but fortunately they provide equipment you can borrow. They also offer activities throughout the day - we mostly enjoyed the evening bar shows. I'd definitely recommend downloading their app to keep track of the schedule and access other helpful hotel information like menus. Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay and a strong positive experience for us. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the dining experience didn't quite match the rest of the resort. While the food could be more consistent, the friendly staff, beautiful setting, amenities, and relaxed atmosphere made it a memorable stay.
