    Super burritos and margarita

Food was spectacular. Super burrito was excellent! Shredded beef had a lot of flavor. The chips and salsa were great. Loved the salsa! The decor has been updated since I was last here. Like to fiesta colors. Service was excellent. Everyone was very attentive and friendly.

Fresh, warm tortilla chips and Jalisco-style salsa.

Previous visits to Alexandria, MN, left us disappointed with our restaurant choices. But a recent weekend getaway to Alexandria was rewarded with some good restaurants serving delicious food. Casa Jalisco, located downtown at 523 Broadway (Minnesota Route 29), is a large and, judging by the number of diners, very popular. And for a good reason: The ambiance was warm and inviting; the service was prompt and cordial, and the food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed freshly made warm tortilla chips, lots of Jalisco-style salsa, steak taco salad, and my favorite, Camarones a la Diablo, grilled shrimp smothered in a spicy sauce complemented with a small salad and refried beans. It's some of the best Mexican food we've had this side of the border.

Beef enchilada and a bean tostada with rice and refried beans. All very good.

This was a nice small restaurant. I had the enchilada and bean tostada lunch special. I've never had either before but they were good! Ad they come with rice and refried beans which were also good. Service was quick, too, which was nice. Only a few small negatives, but still a solid four stars. -there were 6 of us and our server didn't write down any of the orders, but he got about 95% of it right! That's a great memory. Though with so many people maybe writing down would be better since there was an incorrect ingredient added and one not added. -the menu for the lunch specials should mention that each of the dishes come with rice and refried beans. People might not think they got enough and will order too much! I had overheard from someone in my group about the beans and rice so I knew I was good. -we had to ask for silverware and napkins. It was easy to get, however! -the enchilada didn't say what kind it was on the menu for the lunch special. Things went a little quick so I forgot to ask. Those things are still rather minor. Still highly recommended!

Cute, colorful patio with a quiet atmosphere. Super friendly staff and fast service. Muy loco if you don't try the mango margs and cheese dip- they're a must!

Best mole enchilada I've had in a long time. Friendly service too! Review requires 85 characters but I have nothing else to say.

Okay, as a Southern California native I love authentic Mexican cooking. So whenever I go to a…read moreplace, my my signature test is to order the carnitas. But let's get into that in a minute. This place is conveniently located next to about five or six motels and hotels, so it makes for a perfect venue for a unique dinner spot. From an exterior standpoint. The place looks great, and has plenty of parking. There are a couple major potholes in the parking lot that could have been fixed but that's a small thing. On the inside, lots of wooden booths and a very festive Hispanic atmosphere. I really enjoy the sombreros hanging from the sides of the booth, as well as the paintings on the wall. From a visual standpoint. This looked like it was going to be a great meal. The waitress came and took my order. She seemed very frightened and standoffish. Now I'm a big guy. I get that, but I'm not that intimidating. But she made zero eye contact and couldn't really answer my questions that I had as her English was not that good. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered the carnitas plate and a water. The food came back pretty quick, and the plate looked appetizing, the refried beans were sort of orange which I wasn't super crazy about, but you know hey, sometimes these things happen. Happen. They were tasty. On a side note, they brought chips and salsa, the chips were fairly bland and the salsa was sort of pedestrian. Didn't really have much spice to it at all. The carnitas itself was well cooked, but had almost zero flavor to it. They smother it in onions, and that helped. But you know as well as I do that. When carnitas is cooked right, it is a mouthful of flavor. On the plate it also came with rice. The refried beans, a little spoonful of guacamole and some Pico de gallo. I ordered the flour tortillas as I wanted to make three larger tacos, which I did. To be honest, the only thing that saved the day was the hot sauce on the table. Adding that to the carnitas actually gave it some flavor and worked out pretty well. Bottom line? If I'm ever back this way again, I don't think I will be stopping here. I did not try any of the other things on the menu but the one I had was just pretty average. Your mileage may vary.

What a diamond in the rough; yet the curb appeal of the building is impressive. I was debating…read moregrabbing something quick but saw this restaurant was open and I'd always wanted to go here. Had some time; hate McD's, etc. as it turned out, probably cheaper to eat at Los Mariachis. I believe every employee that could talk to me did talk to me...promptly...and asked what I needed or how the food was. Splendid! This was lunch, so I ordered the enchilada, Flaute, Taco combo for $9.50. Each element was perfect for an authentic Mexican restaurant! With their menu, great food and prices, it will definitely be a go to for me in the future! Alexandria, wake up! We will be back...often.
