Miguel (Mike) is great tour guide. Great wine prices 6 dollars a bottle, white or red. This place is a hidden treasure. It's very safe to come to . I strongly suggest to come visit here when you have the time.

Monte Xanic walked us through every pour like a warm hug. Bruma is too cool and too artsy for any of that. Both are good! Just know what you're walking into. Bruma makes a really damn good glass of wine, and they make you go underground for it. The tasting is in a dark, quiet cellar that turns out to be the perfect place to actually pay attention to what's in your glass. And what's in there has personality. Real personality. The winery itself is moody and artistic in the very best way, built around a 300-year-old oak tree (which, fine, show off). Then you step outside and the grounds are STUNNING. So stunning that we wandered for an hour and decided to stay for dinner. Separate review coming. Four stars and not five because of the service during the tasting. Nobody was rude, everyone was perfectly nice, but they were also barely there. For a tasting, where the whole point is to learn what you're drinking, that's a miss. Worth the trip. Just bring a friend who knows wine, in case nobody else volunteers.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE HOTEL ONLY…read more This property sits a hotel, winery, and restaurant. We stayed at Casa Ocho in Room 7 at Bruma and absolutely loved it. We checked in around midnight and the staff made it ridiculously easy, they were super responsive on WhatsApp and had someone basically waiting for our arrival to guide us to where we needed to be. The moment we walked into the room, it felt like stepping into a desert-chic dream. Slippers and robes waiting for us was a small thing, but much appreciated after our 4 hour drive. The private hot tub was the real showstopper though. Sitting in warm water under a sky full of stars with zero bugs and zero noise is peak vacation energy. The shower in the morning was another highlight: sunlight pouring in, everything clean, and the products actually smelled good. I'm usually picky with hotel toiletries, but theirs were legit. My only gripes: the lighting at night in the room is a little too dim, and the shower knobs took a minute to decode. Once I figured out the perfect combo (and wrote it down like a mad scientist), it was fine. Room 7 also comes with its own private parking lot, which made everything even smoother. Beautiful place, super romantic, and a perfect little desert escape in the middle of Mexican wine country. Highly recommend staying here. Mornings turned into a little ritual for us, a quick drive to the bakery for coffees and warm pastries, with sheep, horses, and cows dotting the road like we were in some countryside commercial. The dogs and cats on the property were basically the welcoming committee. Finding them all became a game, and every single one got spoiled with pets. A couple tips if you stay here: - Don't walk to the Wine Garden or the bakery. Just drive. - From rooms 6 and 7, you can walk straight down through the vineyard to Fauna or the winery. It's an easy 5 minute walk, but know that coming back at night is pitch black. If that sounds annoying, drive- even though it's super close. - Try to have brunch at the Michelin rated Bruma Wine Garden (breakfast ends at 11am), fantastic menu and fresh juices

Monte Xanic was the very first tasting we did on our trip through the valley, and let me tell you,…read moreit was a mistake to start here. Why? Because it set the bar so impossibly high that every winery after had some serious catching up to do. Spoiler alert: none of them did. This was hands down the best tasting of our entire trip. Let's talk about the grounds first because WOW. The place is gorgeous. The kind of gorgeous where you keep stopping to take pictures and your camera roll fills up before you've even had a sip. It's the whole package, beautiful views, well kept, just stunning all around. But pretty doesn't pour itself into your glass, so let's get to the good stuff. The wine was delicious. Every single one. And the staff? Incredible. They knew their stuff inside and out but never made you feel like you were taking a pop quiz. Knowledgeable AND approachable, which is a combo you don't always get. They made the whole thing feel welcoming and fun instead of stuffy. Speaking of fun, during one of the tastings we played a scented game where you try to identify the aromas, and I loved it. It was clever, it was interactive, and it made the experience feel like something special rather than just sit, swirl, sip, repeat. Little touches like that are what separate a good tasting from a great one. If you're anywhere near the valley, do yourself a favor and put Monte Xanic at the top of your list. Just maybe save it for last so it doesn't ruin everything else for you. You've been warned!

Reservation is required for the upper level but that is mostly for the specialized wine tasting and tour which I also recommend once. Lakeside is always great. We added on a wine tour in the valley too. Ivan our driver, a native of the valley, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the valley, even providing excellent restaurant recommendations. The whole experience made us feel safe and secure, we would gladly travel with them again. They even suggested and helped us get a fast pass for border crossing that saved us 3 hours in crossing the border. Great team and service.

My friends and I weren't too sure of how the process would be since they picked us up after we walked across the border. We booked our rides through WhatsApp and the communication was super easy. They were super responsive, and the day before our designated rides, they shared the driver's number for us to connect directly. Our driver down to Valle was named Elias and made the whole process so simple! He picked us right outside of where we came out after crossing the border. He was super friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable for the drive. He told us a little bit about Valle and how he's lived there for 25 years. On my way back, I had a different driver, who was Natalie. She was super nice and the ride back was so quick, probably because it was the morning and traffic wasn't too bad in Tijuana yet. She was helpful in directing me to find the line to cross the border. Without the direction from her, I would have definitely been confused. They made this whole process so seamless! They were on time and available for all the questions I had leading up to the rides as well. I will for sure use them in the future any time I'm traveling somewhere driving distance in Mexico!

I was thrilled to see an email on Saturday saying we were welcome for the 2nd tasting of the day and then filled with panic as I saw when it was sent, didn't have service and that time was quickly approaching. Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.
