    Nebbiolo and Chardonnay Roble

What a great time this place was! They were so hospitable and friendly! Situated off a main road, this vineyard was easy to get to! Parking was plentiful and out front. We didn't have a reservation, so we couldn't do a tasting, but that was fine because they had so many great wines to choose from. My favorite was the Amantes blend. The tables are among the vines themselves. Noise level was not bad at all. We've been to several wineries out here, and this one is for sure one of our favorites. We cannot wait to come back.

Tasting Experiences as of our 8/9/24 visit. ($500 Pesos is about $30)

Two Tasting Experiences: Joven (5 young wines: 3 whites & 2 reds): $500 Pesos ($30 USD); Reserva (4 pours): $500 Pesos ($30 USD), as of our 8/8/24 visit. Second visit. Unfortunately, we weren't fans of their wines the first time we were there (probably 8-10 years ago), but many of our friends rave about them so we thought it was time to revisit. Jorge poured for us this time and we shared one of each tasting experiences. The service was good and the wines were well made, but once again most were just not fitting our palates. We did really enjoy the '19 Nebbiolo Reserva and '19 Cabernet Sauvignon, and purchased bottles when we returned home (through www.LMAwines.com). Kristen (owner/winemaker) stopped by our table and spent quite a bit of time talking to us about the wine scene in Valle de Guadalupe ("VdG"), as well as her own experiences. We had met her mom & dad when they were running things during our first visit. We also found out that she's the winemaker for another local winery, Clos Benoit, which we visited and really loved what she did there. I always say that you should always try wines for yourself, as everyone's palate is unique and what I dislike, you may love...and vice versa. My one knock is that the winery is located right next to the main highway, so road noise is loud. It's not as relaxing an environment as many of the other VdG wineries. That said, our experience was pleasant, and I think they're worth a visit. Salud!

We had an incredible experience at Lechuza!!! The wines are delicious, the food scrumptious and the owner magnificent! We make sure each time we visit the VALLE we go to Lechuza! This particular visit was extra special as Kristen the owner, wine maker presented us our wines! Her knowledge and descriptions made our experience extraordinary! A must go!!!!! Armando is one of my favorite humans in Valle! A super star team!!!

Fantastic wine tasting! We visited on a Friday afternoon with reservations and were seated outside at a very quaint barrel table for two. We decided to do the wine tasting flight which included 5 different selections. My ultimate favorites were Canto (Chardonnay) & Amantes (red blend) both served chilled. I have been wine tasting in Paso Robles, Temecula and Napa and this is by far has been some of the best tasting wines. The wine was so good, we decided to buy 2 bottles to bring back home. The food selection took it over the top for me. We ordered Almejas Gratinadas (baked clams), oysters & Ribeye & spinach crustini. The presentation was just as amazing as the taste itself. Got the opportunity to meet the owner Kristin, she made us feel very welcomed. Looking forward to visiting again!

Really a must stop in Valle D Guadalupe. The white wines especially the Chardonnay can compete with any from No Cal The Amantes was very aromatic. A must for a red blend. The owner/proprietor Kristen (sp?) has an amazing story with regard to the winery.

One of the best vibe wineries I've been! Great wine, both white and red. My recommendation is their red blend called Alas. The amantes is also great and a stronger wine. They do multiple course meals (with reservation). Their staff is the best asset this winery has: Armando was so knowledgeable about the vines and the wines! Thank you for all the explanations!

Very nice winery with good wine and nice food options. We sat outside trying wines and enjoyed one plate of food to share. Our server spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about wine so we learned a lot. This was the best wine tasting we experience out of the two others we tried in the region.

We had an amazing afternoon at Lechuza! There is plenty of parking, their staff is amazing, wine was great and the tacos from the food truck were the cherry on top! They're also on open table which is a huge plus. We both did the tasting which included 4 wines (Rosé, Chardonnay, a chilled red, & Cabernet). I absolutely loved the pluma (chilled red) and the Cabernet. We ended up getting a bottle of the pluma and I wish I would have gotten some to bring home! We got the steak tacos from the food truck. They bring them to your table when they are ready. They were just so good! We got 2 orders of them. Simple yet so delicious. This place isn't huge but it's really cute and we had such a great time. Highly recommend!

Lechuza is one of our favorite Valle wineries. Beautiful setting outside by the vineyard; charming owner Kris Magnussen, wonderful wines, and now, great food too, from their small outdoor kitchen. This time, we came by with a group of 9 for our 30th anniversary. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We tried their Chardonnay and a chilled Nebbiolo, which were both really good, but our favorite was their Amantes "lovers" wine - a blend of 60% Nebbiolo, 20% merlot and 20% cab- delicious. We got a bottle of this for $990 pesos (about $50). We also got 3 orders of their grilled shrimp quesadillas - like street tacos with cheese - one of the best things we ate all day! Look forward to our next visit.

Came on a Monday and the atmosphere was quite relaxing! We tried the Pluma and Amantes after our waitress recommended it to us. She was very knowledgeable and polite!

I did not. The grounds are stunning. You're on an active working orchard with views in every direction, and dropped right in the middle of it is the most enormous oak tree I have ever seen. That tree, you guys. It's MASSIVE. Ancient. The whole property is built around it, and drinking wine in its shade was straight up surreal. There were dogs wandering around. Families on picnic blankets. A live band playing under the tree. People dancing on their own. It's magical. The wine was freaking delicious. The charcuterie was good. The service was good. Nothing stood out either way on the service, but with everything else going on, I genuinely didn't pay attention. This isn't a quiet, learn-about-your-tannins kind of tasting. It's a hangout, and it's the kind of afternoon you'll be talking about long after you go home. A must on any Valle trip. Pro tip: come hungry, come ready to hang out, and come ready to feel like you're in a fairy tale, because that tree. Just sayin'!

The charcuterie board stood out with its excellent variety of artisanal cheeses and meats, all beautifully presented. Some of the cheeses were from the goats on the property, pretty cool--and other fresh ingredients came from the region. The "Torre de Uchepo" (Uchepo Tower) was the best. Uchepo is a soft tamale made from white corn, traditional to Michoacán, and here it is taken to another level. It's served with pork rib and a green tomato and puya pepper sauce, topped with fresh farm cream and Cotija cheese. An absolute must! The wines, all produced from the on-site winery, paired perfectly with both the charcuterie board and the tamale dish. The peaceful views of ducks in a small pond and a nearby pasture with sheep and horses. They have dogs too, which are all so friendly and, in my opinion, added to the experience as a dog lover. It's a serene experience that perfectly complements the quality of the food and wine. And the service, the service is like no other. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Valle de Guadalupe's culinary and wine scene. I look forward to returning for an actual meal, we had dinner reservations, but wanted to stop by. The restaurant is off the beaten path. At the gate, you'll enter and continue driving around the property to the top, where the restaurant sits with gorgeous views. You'll see a small pond and a set of stairs--follow them up to the top.
