I didn't see a spot for Damiana on Yelp, so I thought I'd leave my review here since the restaurant is on property with the winery. I was so excited to see Michelin Guide finally made it to Mexico; the Michelin Star here is very well deserved. The servers, chef, and chef's father go above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect. From the specialty duster ensuring no wandering leaves have made it onto your table setting, to every unique plating and wine pairing from the property vineyard, the experience was beautiful. Every dish was delectable and well-balanced with the freshest of ingredients, with many dishes being served by chef Esteban himself. The staff was meticulous about accommodating my food allergy. There wasn't a single dish out of the 15 plates I tasted that I didn't love. With an ever evolving menu, I will be sure to return. In a short time I can see this spot earning a second star.

    Stunning wine tasting area.

Stunning location and views of the valley. Very modern and elegant. However, the customer service definitely not a top priority. There were only two wine servers when we arrived and the place wasn't really busy. The person attending us didn't show any regard for attention or customer service. She was almost robotic and uncaring as she attended us. You know how you can tell when a person has a passion for their job and when they don't? ...Well, she fell on the I don't give a crap side. I typically try to be as fair as I can when writing reviews, but this one was a hard one as the location is truly stunning but the customer service can definitely kill the vibe.

Beautiful winery with absolutely stunning views. There are massive live edge tables throughout, perfect for large groups or communal seating. The wines are OK and the service isn't that good but this winery is really so gosh darn pretty to enjoy a last bottle of wine (it's also the last winery in the Valle on the route up to Tecate) before heading back to San Diego.

I planned a wine tasting here with my friends for my bday after arriving via carnival cruise. The views were spectacular and the service was great. I'd love to come back again.

The ambiance was restful. Being in the midst of the vineyard contributed to getting lost in the experience.

Monte Xanic walked us through every pour like a warm hug. Bruma is too cool and too artsy for any of that. Both are good! Just know what you're walking into. Bruma makes a really damn good glass of wine, and they make you go underground for it. The tasting is in a dark, quiet cellar that turns out to be the perfect place to actually pay attention to what's in your glass. And what's in there has personality. Real personality. The winery itself is moody and artistic in the very best way, built around a 300-year-old oak tree (which, fine, show off). Then you step outside and the grounds are STUNNING. So stunning that we wandered for an hour and decided to stay for dinner. Separate review coming. Four stars and not five because of the service during the tasting. Nobody was rude, everyone was perfectly nice, but they were also barely there. For a tasting, where the whole point is to learn what you're drinking, that's a miss. Worth the trip. Just bring a friend who knows wine, in case nobody else volunteers.

I was thrilled to see an email on Saturday saying we were welcome for the 2nd tasting of the day and then filled with panic as I saw when it was sent, didn't have service and that time was quickly approaching. Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.

It was definitely sweet, but not as sweet as the second one we tried. The red wine that I preferred was "70&30" or "Cabernet/Tempranillo." It was actually my favorite of the four. Our wine server was very friendly and helpful. From the main road, this place doesn't look like much - a little rundown in fact. However, they have their own bathrooms, parking lot, and a cute rustic display for photos with their Sol de Media Noche emblem. Bring friends for a fun roadtrip through northern Mexico!

That tree, you guys. It's MASSIVE. Ancient. The whole property is built around it, and drinking wine in its shade was straight up surreal. There were dogs wandering around. Families on picnic blankets. A live band playing under the tree. People dancing on their own. It's magical. The wine was freaking delicious. The charcuterie was good. The service was good. Nothing stood out either way on the service, but with everything else going on, I genuinely didn't pay attention. This isn't a quiet, learn-about-your-tannins kind of tasting. Our driver down to Valle was named Elias and made the whole process so simple! He picked us right outside of where we came out after crossing the border. He was super friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable for the drive. He told us a little bit about Valle and how he's lived there for 25 years. On my way back, I had a different driver, who was Natalie. She was super nice and the ride back was so quick, probably because it was the morning and traffic wasn't too bad in Tijuana yet. She was helpful in directing me to find the line to cross the border. Without the direction from her, I would have definitely been confused. They made this whole process so seamless! They were on time and available for all the questions I had leading up to the rides as well. I will for sure use them in the future any time I'm traveling somewhere driving distance in Mexico!
