The water was served room temperature and only halfway full. Refills of anything other than water were nonexistent. I probably wouldn't visit again unless nowhere else was available. On our way up to Steamboat for a ski week we came upon this place. Snow was falling and we thought let's get something to counteract the cold. Got seated quickly. Our server was great! She was attentive and helpful. I ordered the fajitas and my wife ordered the tacos asada. Food came out piping hot and smelled so good. We were not disappointed in the taste that followed. My friend loves this place so decided to stop for lunch after a day of hiking Twin Lakes. My boyfriend and I were promptly greeted and seated. Chips and homemade salsa was delivered to the table along with water. I got pollo carnitas, delicious marinated chicken and onions and mushrooms served with rice and refried beans along with homemade tortillas. My boyfriend got chicken and cheese quesadillas. Service very friendly. Bill came to $33 we also had diet cokes. Only reason not 5 stars is the bathroom was dirty and the quesadillas had way too much cheese and was soggy...but definitely will be back. read more

All my years coming to Leadville. Okay first time trying this place. This place is a little small for larger parties of maybe 6 or more. My wife ordered the medium combination and I ordered the Mexican hamburger. The tamale in my wife's dish was probably the best your going to get in a small town. Good portion of protein to corn filling. Food was okay for the general public and for the area. If your looking for more authentic we'd commend Casa Blanca(cash only) or wait the extra 30-40mins back into Frisco. The Mexican hamburger I had was made to taste almost like meat loaf (beef part of the meal). At least that what my wife I concluded after spending almost 10-15 trying to recall what the meat tasted like. My husband and I stopped in to Casa Sanchez on our way through Leadville. We both wanted to have some Mexican food, one of our favorites. The line was out the door but it moved quickly and the wait, about 15 minutes, was well with it. I had a margarita and it was delicious and not too sweet. My husband tried the Chile rellenos and was very happy with them. Sometimes this dish has too much batter and it ruins the taste of the chiles. I had the spinach enchiladas (enchiladas de espinacas) and they were wonderful. Great green sauce and great flavor! The taste of the salsa they served was very good but the sauce was very thin so it didn't stay on the chips well. We were too full for dessert but really enjoyed the meal. Our waitress brought two free shots of their house made tequila with the check. That was awesome! read more

After spending the day in the area, we stopped here for a quick lunch. I stopped in the bathroom and I was a bit disturbed that it was more like a cleaning closet. While walking to our table we passed a shelf on the wall with 12 plastic pitchers of water with no ice. Then, they took one of those pitchers and filled out water glasses. We ordered our food and it was mediocre at best. As they delivered the food a police officer entered and went to the back. We sent one of our meals back because it was wrong, and we were informed that they could not make any more food, because the health department just shut them down. I want so much to give this a great review because I was charmed by Leadville's vibe, but I have to be honest...wont come back. We could not help but notice the, almost snarling, staff member by the door rolling silverware almost made me want to leave before we even started. This place was unfortunately the worst place I've been to in Colorado. I had high hopes for it and it pretty much tanked. The food was a solid 3/10 and the staff was extremely unresponsive. The place is super small and crowded so keep that in mind, also, absolutely do not order the mushroom appetizer. It's literally a plate of sliced mushrooms with tomato sauce and a slice of avocado. We decided to eat at Casa Sanchez 2 while visiting Leadville because we LOVE Mexican food and the ratings were so great.... now we understand why!! So good that we went back again a week later! This is some of the best Mexican we've had throughout all of our travels, and we travel full time! We ordered a michelada and Modelo to drink. To eat we had the asada burrito, pork carnitas, and a combo platter with a chicken enchilada with white cheese sauce, a shredded beef enchilada with green sauce, and a chile relleno. ALL DELICIOUS!! The salsa they serve with the chips is also great with amazing flavor. We had Abraham as our waiter both times and he was so attentive and outstanding!
