We were looking for a quick and casual place to eat and came across Casa Tequila since it was very close to our hotel. We honestly didn't have big expectations, but the food ended up being a really pleasant surprise. We ordered the chips with guacamole and cheese to start, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The chicken quesadillas were the standout for me -- absolutely delicious and very satisfying. My husband ordered the enchiladas de asada. I didn't try them myself since I usually avoid dishes with a lot of salsa, but he couldn't stop talking about how good they were and said they were "out of this world." We also had three beers and two margaritas, and with all the food included, the total came out to around $100. My wife and I stopped in here for lunch as we were in the area, nice and clean inside, we were greeted with a super friendly smile and seated promptly. Our server was extremely friendly and very polite, also was able to help us with our questions on the menu items. My wife had the slim tacos with carne asada and I had the enchiladas poblano, the food was not only hot and flavorful but their chips and salsa were delicious as well. Lucked into this place taking the scenic route from Telluride to Denver. Serious luck bc we were starving and saw a Wendy's so we pulled in then we saw this family Mexican restaurant. The El Pastor tacos and the Carne Asada were the best we've ever had. The margaritas were excellent as well. Wish we could have had another round but...driving. Jennifer was a pleasure, very friendly, prompt and sweet. The lunch menu was also very reasonably priced which was nice after being in a resort town for a week. You know why I love this spot? Not just the friendly staff, and the amazing abilities of the bartenders, no. The reason I love this place is the slaw they give you with the chips and salsa.....I can't stop thinking about it. Ugh....I will be running back here when we come back this Summer. Over three months I encountered a couple charges of one dollar more than I signed for. The manager, David, assured me he would look into it and get to the bottom of it. Tonight was a bust. We have dined here often over the last 4 years. We used to thoroughly enjoy the wait staff and food. They were always friendly and extremely competent. However, tonight 1/25/21, we came for dinner at aprx 6:30-a Monday evening. There were 3 people at the bar and no one else. We were seated at a dirty table. Our waiter brought chips/salsa and sat the 1/2 empty basket on top of our salsa dish. He asked for our drinks; water and a 2 margaritas, and we ordered our meals. Long story short, he returned 3 times to ask if we wanted something to drink, didn't write the order down ever and returned again to check on our food order and to ask how we wanted our margaritas. We waited another 20 minutes and got up to see if they were finished and he asked-oh do you want something to drink? The man seemed confused and didn't understand why we were leaving. My wife and I and another couple and their teenage son had dinner here recently. Pluses: a huge menu, and very friendly waiters. Minuses: I think they are short-handed as it took a long time for our food to arrive. We ordered another round of drinks which also took a long time to arrive and the waiter mentioned the bartender had quit. The food is pretty good, although I didn't think it was outstanding. Everyone else, however, pretty much cleaned their plate, so I think they felt it was good. They have outdoor seating too, but most patrons on the night we were there opted to sit indoors and the place was packed. A couple of firefighters came in and we asked the waiter if we could buy their dinner for them and he said their meal was already being comp'd by the restaurant. The place was clean. It has nice outdoor seating. I ordered the carne asada. The plate was a good portion. It looked good, but the steak itself lacked a bit of seasoning. Salt and pepper go a long way! Servers were really nice! But overall I had a good experience. The food was good, fresh, and properly cooked. I WOULD come back. Maybe they could play better music lol. But, its nice to have a second option in Willits, since El Koritas has been pretty much the only option for a long time.
