Whichever friend told me that Native Son has really good margaritas should be in prison. The whiskey sours weren't sour. The classic margs tasted like OJ The moscow mule was fine. The burritos, while tasty, were crazy small. Like frozen burrito size. All of that on top of just unreasonable prices (for the quality). However, the vibes were unmatched. Amazing karaoke, good people, no fights or drama. People were dancing and mingling, it was truly a fun night. 5* atmosphere mixed with -10* drinks averages out to a solid 3*. read more

We were on vacation and poked our head in here to check out there menu just as they opened up but ended up staying because of the good vibes. I had the brisket tacos and and guacamole with chips. The food was excellent! The warmest bartender, Burley, and the owner Rick made these two old gals feel right at home. Edited Review: I contacted the Owner about how one of his employees stole money from me and he was very respectful, non judgmental and eager to make my situation right. He immediately refunded the money stole from me and I am very happy about the situation. It really was not about the amount which was 19%, but about the fact he had a very dishonest employee. I would even go back now because the food was good and the attitude of the owner corrected my shitty situation with a refund. Below is how I felt at the time when I found out I was ripped off. My suggestion is to go to the restaurant, expect to ORDER and PAY at the bar not at the table to reduce frustration on your expectations. Additionally be sure to watch your bill when it comes in - I have not heard if he fired the bar tender that ripped me off, but the owner is a very honest person and genuinely interested in correcting the wrong that was done to me Original Input before the Owner corrected the situation: This restaurant is a rip off and will steal money from you. I authorized a payment and they added 19% on top that I did not authorize due to their poor service which was non existent. Went in for the first time on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. We really enjoyed our time there (2 of us). The cocktails were great! So was the appetizer we ordered (potato wedges). Brandi with an "I", took the time to give us her expertise on all of the mezcals they have on the shelf. She also took the time to go over little events they host and just a little history of the bar as she knew we were new to the area. The ambiance was cool. Music that was playing was not our cup of tea (rap & hip house) but no one seemed to mind including us. We shall visit again! read more

Stopped in with some friends for a night cap and to check the place out. They had 2 employees working the bar which is where you ordered any drinks and food. We all ordered some drinks and a couple appetizers to pick at while hanging out. This night happened to be salsa dancing night which included an instructor to walk you through some guided lessons. Some of our friends joined in and had fun with it. The instructor was great and the vibe it created was entertaining. There was a large crowd playing pool the whole time so we weren't able to get on the tables but that happens. This place made our night! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly staff. As a veggie- the avocado sweet potato tacos were insane! My boyfriend had the meat tacos and it was the same delicious story. we chose to sit at the bar, but there were nice tables and 2 pool tables in the back. THEN Ricky who gave great beta on mtn bike trails as well- suggested I mix up my normal whiskey drink and try a whiskey margarita - I was skeptical, but damn! It was the best tasting margarita I've ever had. Who knew? I need to go back to try a tequila marg there now. Then I tried a whiskey sour- again. Dancing + live music + + refreshing drinks + late night food = all expectations met. Bathrooms are comfy and food is served up until midnight. Ricardo, the owner, is a gem of a human. Came here at opening with three gal friends. The service was a little neglectful initially but there was a young guy helping serve our food and water that was kind and attentive. We were some of the only ones in there but it was 6 pm on a Thursday. The vibe was fun and colorful. The star of this place is the fully gluten free limited menu. We had the potato wedges and aioli, chips and salsa and guac, chimichurri bowls, barbacoa bowls, and barbacoa tacos. All of it was fresh and absolutely delicious. Folks seemed nice -- bar and customers alike -- and very much seems the sort of place I could be a regular if I lived in the area. This particular evening was karaoke night, which was something I hadn't seen in a while and the couple of songs we heard were as gloriously horrifying as any such fun should be. Really enjoyed everything about this cute place! Excited to learn that they are also working on finalizing their liquor license and expanding the drink options to be full bar inside and to the right. What a great food menu! If you're wanting to eat "clean" or maybe are vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free... they've got several yummy options for you! Our party ordered breakfast plates with bacon and sausage as well as their HUGE oatmeal bowl... yum! The oatmeal bowl could be easily split between two and man, did it look foods she added fresh berries, shaved coconut and chocolate chips. We ate happily and enjoyed the many seating options. We choose a booth area in the front, with a great view into the sleepy town. We sampled their kombucha as well and took a growler with us as we left. Loved everything about this place. Husband and I are exploring restaurants now that we have moved here - wow! Food was excellent. Tried Papaps bravas (licking the plate would have been rude) Chicken Tinga tacos and Shrimp tacos. We did take food home but had to force ourselves to stop eating - food tasted so good but we were full. I enjoyed a Vaccine C and will try Rattlesnake next time. A nice vibe, very relaxing.
