The purple haired girl doing the paperwork stated and assured us that all tests were done and are done to all cats that come through there. I asked if there was proof to which she stated, if the cat ended up being positive that is when it would be listed in the files, otherwise, if the cat is negative nothing is documented but I assure you the tests were done. We ended up believing her. We called the next day while at our own Vet getting an initial check up and asked to confirm once again that the tests were done, this time, they said no, the tests were not done. Incompetence at its best, or just out right deception, say whatever you need to say, i.e. lie, just get the animals adopted.

I was told to come to the adoption event and I could meet the dog I was interested in. I went to the adoption event two days later met my new fur baby and brought him home. I appreciated the fact that before I went they asked questions and had me send pictures of my home.. this means they truly care about the dogs and want to ensure they are going to a good home. The dogs they rescue come from unfortunate and disturbing circumstances and deserve all the love and a great forever home and family. Overall, I am so grateful and happy with my rescue experience! We have a wonderful new member of the family that is thriving and so sweet- I'm so happy this rescue has given him a second chance at a wonderful life. We have been here 2 times before and the volunteers have been very kind until today we had a negative experience with a volunteer named Jose. It seems he was also trainer and his trainee Bianca was nice but Jose was visibly ignoring us after he asked questions and staring at his trainee weirdly. It seems he was too occupied flirting with his Trainee than listening to our answers after HE asked a question and he would walk away to flirt some more and then come back and ask us the same question. The trainee didn't seem to be flirting back and just trying to do her job and learn. Even seeing one dog took us over 30 minutes after we were already up in the queue. Shoutout to Sosa though!! She was amazing and helped us out when Jose did not.

We went for their first monthly sale to raise money to help the cats. The cats there are wonderful - calm, some want attention, some don't, some love getting scritches. They were all healthy. It's not easy to find two cats that get along. NONE of the traditional adoption sites listed pairs of cats. A GOOGLE search and I found Homeward Bound where they specialize in multiple cat adoptions. Cats are in spacious rooms with toys, beds, and cat trees. They roam around and you can pet and interact with them. NO CAGES! The volunteers show you cats that match what you want. In my case, two calico sisters, 2.5 years old. Lyra and Lyric have been home since late February and have adjusted to their new life. I wouldn't have them to love without Homeward Bound. They wanted to see a yard and a loving family. We talked about our "requirements" what would be a good fit for our family. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. It took patience. And perseverance. But we refused to get a puppy. And my boyfriend was stuck on having a golden. Then we got a call that there was a dog that was close to our criteria. A little younger than I wanted. But we went to meet him and as soon as we got him home it was pretty much evident that he was going to live with us for the rest of his doggy life.
