We enjoyed the food and service. The fried avocado plate was tasty. The ground beef avocado hit the spot, it came with beef fajita taco al carbon with rice, charro beans, chile con queso, lettuce and pico de gallo. We shared a mixed fajita lunch menu plate, fajitas poblano.....beef and chicken sauteed in chipotle sauce with poblano peppers, onions, mushrooms, and pico de gallo topped with jack cheese. Came with rice and beans, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo aand tortillas. I had to add one very tasty ground beef enchilada. We'll be back.

Nice & clean restaurant with a nice sized patio. We sat at a booth on the inside and plenty of people were there dining in or getting food togo. First the chips and salsa were probably the best I've ever had! Then the enchiladas dinner was SO good and cheesy! Like the pull on that enchilada was amazing. And what really impressed me was that by the time I was getting full, the plate was still hot! I definitely enjoyed my meal here. I want to go back and try their margaritas when I can.

This restaurant is busy in the neighborhood, but it needs a lot of improvement regarding foods and drink we order margarita not up to the mark. It's something that if they're going to charge you that amount of money you expect good margarita but sadly not good. We order chicken, chimichanga chicken and the chimichanga was not flavored. It seems like it was a boiled chicken no flavor not too much spices. it was a fried chimichanga, but it was too much fried so the top was hard enough not to take a bite. Next thing was chicken quesadillas same problem less cheese boiled chicken not enough spices not enough flavor. Salsa was not too flavorful all these problems can be resolved with making it more flavorful cheese came with chicken chimichanga in a small plastic cup seem like powdered cheese it could've been done better inside ambience was good instead of quantity they need to focus on quality of the food and the drink prices are very reasonable I guess because of the low prices they're busy but I believe quality over quantity I want taste. I want flavor. I want all the spices I want the food that can melt my stomach, but I'm going to try once more see how it goes but in the meanwhile I do give a chance maybe you can tell them maybe you would like it but go ahead and enjoy and see for yourself

Overall, my friends and I had a poor experience at this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant around 12pm on Sunday. When we first walked in, the hosts were kind and inviting, walking us to a table of our choice. The assistant server brought us our drinks immediately. The service was great until we were approached by our main server. When my friend asked a question about her order, he aggressively leaned over her, pointed at the menu, and said "read it!" This made her very uncomfortable and made us all feel unwelcome and as if we were not allowed to ask questions. She was just trying to confirm that the chicken in her quesadillas would not come into contact with beef, as she cannot eat beef for religious reasons. She later found a chunk of beef in her chicken quesadillas! When we politely told the server about this issue, he completely dismissed us saying that "it is chicken" when there was obviously beef. While mistakes happen, him dismissing this issue was completely unacceptable! My salad was also served with ranch dressing packets tossed on top of the lettuce. Later, after I ate most of my food, I found a hair in my salad! These issues have made us believe that the cleanliness of the back of the restaurant is very poor. Our server always brushed us off when we would ask him questions and changed the atmosphere from inviting to uninviting very quickly. Other than that, the burrito and quesadillas that our other friends ordered were quite good. They described their meals as flavorful and worth the wait. While not everything at Casa Vaqueros is bad, my friends and I will not be returning because of the lack of restaurant cleanliness and impolite service.

Good food and service. I had the spinach enchiladas and a margarita. I especially like the white sauce they put on the top of the enchiladas.

    Shrimp al Ajillo. Simply delicious!

The food was really great! The selections were good. The server seldom came to see if we needed anything or to order something else. I loved my Shrimp al Ajillo with eight shrimp sautéed in butter and garlic sauce served with rice, charro beans, pico de Gallo. Simply delicious.

Great Mexican restaurant!…read more We ordered the el molcajete, port carnitas tacos and steak and shrimp with a couple of margaritas and I have to say , I was very very pleased with our meals. Since moving here to Texas it has been quite difficult to find a restaurant that serves meals outside of Tex Mex . Something told us to explore the area a bit more and thankfully we did ! El fogon has been one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant we've had so far. In the month of May, my husband and I have ate here twice and every plate that we've ordered have been incredibly delicious. The meats are very tender & seasoned extremely well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dishes outside of the typical Tex mex. The menu has so many options and everything looks and smells so good. Their margaritas are made very well which is a bonus! I appreciate the assortment of seating (booths , patio ,tables & bar top ). I loved the decor and cleanliness. Our service each time has been top tier. The staff is friendly , fast and accommodating. Based on our experience both times, we are definitely returning and encouraging friends to try. I am ready to return already. Yum !

My ceviche was completely* tasteless, tough & uninteresting, more like Peruvian style but without any lime (nor flavor). The fish, shrimp and pulpo came straight out of a very frozen bag. Totally overpriced. Chips were pretty thanks to the amount of red & yellow dye added, went w the festive decor. The guacamole was very much too chunky ... They appeared to have real street Mexican tacos on the menu w corn tortillas. The atmosphere felt like entering a rancho joint in northern Mexico. The staff was very nice, accommodating and attentive when we went. The place was not very crowded. Parking was not a problem. I would not go back but it depends on what you're used to.

The chips were fresh and the salsa had a nice flavor definitely a great way to kick off the meal. I ordered the strawberry margarita and it was refreshing, smooth, and hit the spot! We also tried the queso. It was okay, but if you're looking for a more traditional Mexican-style queso, just know this one leans more toward the Velveeta-style cheese dip. My niece ordered the grilled shrimp tacos and gave them a thumbs up! She said they were flavorful and really enjoyed them. (No picture) The atmosphere was a highlight for me. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the patio overlooks the lake, creating a relaxing vibe that's perfect for enjoying a meal and drinks. A special shoutout to our server, Jeanette (I believe that was her name)! She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Overall, this is a really nice spot with good food, great service, and beautiful views. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. I've got my eye on the octopus next time! Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.
