One of my fave places to go to. Love the frozen margaritas and the food. Giving them four stars because the service is kind of slow. But overall I love coming here, very affordable.

My gf took me here a couple of months ago because she likes it there. Her friends do too. I was hesitant because of some of the negative reviews. Boy, were they wrong! The service was friendly, fast, and excellent. The food came out quickly even though there was a lunch rush. Everything was delicious! The price and parking were great. we will be heading back there soon!

Very good. Sat outside on the patio waiters wore masks. Love traditional dishes. Guacamole very good. Chips are addicting!

This restaurant has been here for years and I'm just now getting around to enjoy it. It's one of my dear friends favorite spots so I joined her for dinner. I'm glad I did. Food was really good, service was great and the company was even better.

Sadly I have to make this review but one of my favorite go to's is a never go again. The food was nicer the highlight of the place but the service atmosphere and the margaritas made up for it. However my last two visits have sealed the deal for me and after reading other reviews I see this is the case with other regulars. We always order the margarita especial(special) which is the house margarita with a shot of grand marnier. However they don't use grand marnier but a cheaper brand called grand gala. At first this wasn't so bad but over time it tasted more like medicine or cough syrup. No problem. I would special request the actual grand marnier. No problem much better. On this last visit, same story but when they brought out the version with the grand marnier it tasted the same as the previous grand gala drink. The waiter insisted it was grand marnier and I explained I'm pretty sure it wasn't since I tend to enjoy it quite often as a compliment or just straight. I asked that he remove the drink from my bill as I wasn't going to drink it and he said he would send over a manager who never came and the waiter explained he's not coming and there's nothing he could do. I couldn't believe the disrespect and dismissal after the countless visits and as many groups as I've brought in before. I've always tipped generously and never had any major issues that weren't corrected without incident but these last two visits were very similar in lack quality and service. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning with so many more new options. It won't be hard for me to pass this place by. I ordered one margarita and spinach and chicken quesadillas only to pay a bill that was a waste of money. I still had a full drink by the time I paid my bill.

This was my very first Southern Mexican food experience. I have heard plenty about chile con queso when I was in Los Angeles, and interestingly, no one can describe exactly what it is. I was intrigued. Last night, my curiosity was fulfilled. Casa Vaqueros is a nice little establishment in the suburb near Sugar Land. The parking lot was packed even on a Tuesday evening. The interior is nice, clean, warm and welcome. We were greeted right away, and seated quickly. Food came out in timely manner, simple and fresh. My queso is yum, it is a great cheesy twist on tortilla chip. I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. The beef taco is very different from what I was accustomed to, it was not heavily seasoned. It is shredded, light, and fluffy, topped with pico de gallo and fresh salsa, ummm, hmmm good. I would say I have enjoyed the dessert more than I should, the light taste of Baileys Irish cream, the layer of cream cheese lightly sweetened, and a hint of chocolate syrup with whipped cream, I would be in heaven if I could also have a cup of hot black coffee to go with it. Would definitely recommend!

Kids plate, cheese quesadilla, rice and beans 2.50. My son said beans were delicious. Quesadilla, just Ok.

I think most people come here to drink, which is fine. The parking lot is always packed. It's storming outside and there was easily 15 people waiting to be seated as we were leaving. They have added or updated their patio. I don't drink, not anymore anyway lol. So this review is on the food which I'll describe as borderline cafeteria level flavor wise and the service. Now that I think of it the food tasted about the same as Lubys. Service is horrible. Waitstaff looks at you like they wish you weren't there. Or that you are not their table, then it always turns out you are. The lady serving water and chips was very nice. The manager eventually came to take our order. I rarely come here. I'll probably go back in a year or two for nostalgic purposes.

I love this beer, my fav.

I love how the waiters are really nice, the hostess is not much on the friendly side but ehh. Anyway, I have been here several times. The first times I didn't really like the food I had ordered the chicken with mushrooms on top, it was a bit too thick and seemed undercooked but I just don't like thick chicken breast, the second time I got the carne asada, it was way too spicy for me and I don't remember what I ordered the other time but I don't think I liked it either and by the way I never liked their rice, it had cumin and personally I don't like it that way. So, I stopped going for like a year after trying it a few times, just recently I went again and I ordered the fajitas and they were very tasty and tender, I think they changed the rice recipe because it was better this time and I went again today to try their baby back ribs which were AWESOME! Really nice and tender, this is the plate I am sticking to from now on. I took a picture of my drink, which is irrelevant but baby back ribs along with a nice Modelo especial is the bomb.

Great Mexican restaurant!…read more We ordered the el molcajete, port carnitas tacos and steak and shrimp with a couple of margaritas and I have to say , I was very very pleased with our meals. Since moving here to Texas it has been quite difficult to find a restaurant that serves meals outside of Tex Mex . Something told us to explore the area a bit more and thankfully we did ! El fogon has been one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant we've had so far. In the month of May, my husband and I have ate here twice and every plate that we've ordered have been incredibly delicious. The meats are very tender & seasoned extremely well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dishes outside of the typical Tex mex. The menu has so many options and everything looks and smells so good. Their margaritas are made very well which is a bonus! I appreciate the assortment of seating (booths , patio ,tables & bar top ). I loved the decor and cleanliness. Our service each time has been top tier. The staff is friendly , fast and accommodating. Based on our experience both times, we are definitely returning and encouraging friends to try. I am ready to return already. Yum !

I believe they have a private dinning area too (one of the school events happen there). It's a very colorful place and has an inviting atmosphere. The bar has a bunch of TVs, for those who want to catch the game. The food honestly looks average, but the taste is delicious. It's also vegetarian friendly. My wife, the vegetarian, asked if they can customize the Tex-Mex Enchiladas (instead of the plain cheese version), and they did. They made her a spinach and cheese, and she loved it. Two of their bean choices were vegetarian (not the charro beans which has bacon), and I think they had two vegetarian rice option too (no meat broth added). My oldest got the stuff avocado with chicken, which she liked a lot. My younger kids got the chicken nuggets, which kept them happy. I got the Ivannita, which is a little bit of everything. If you are hungry, this is a good option, as the Crispy Beef Taco comes out first. The taco shell was freshly fried. They use to have a free ice cream section, where you can get a mini cone with soft serve, but it's not there anymore. :( Overall, this is a great place to eat at with the family.

My niece ordered the grilled shrimp tacos and gave them a thumbs up! She said they were flavorful and really enjoyed them. (No picture) The atmosphere was a highlight for me. Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

It was hopping on a Saturday night, as they have a few other businesses in the same parking lot. Finding a spot was easy for me, but that's because I was lucky. The lot was packed and I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time. I'll take the win. Walking in the restaurant has outdoor seating, and indoor. A pretty good line when we walked in leading up to the door, but it went quickly. About half of the tables on the interior in use, but it was very easy to find a place to sit. Outdoor was about maybe 1/4 capacity. They have a pretty interesting menu, it definitely fits along the gastropub line. I was very tempted to do tacos and burgers but our goal was burgers and I stuck to it. I had the Brie and candied bacon burger. Was it messy? Yes, yes it was. Was it phenomenal? Yes, yes it was. With candied jalapeno, candied bacon, arugula and a fire vinaigrette, this was my favorite burger. The jalapeno was flavored but not spicy. For those who are adverse to heat. The vinaigrette really sets off this burger, on top of the medly of flavors. Cooked to juicy perfection, would 100% get this again. The gal went with the California Burger. Also an excellent choice, but I liked mine more. This one serves up sliced avocado, bacon, tomato, arugula, Swiss, and again, a house vinaigrette. Whoever thought let's make a burger more wet, you were right. That's why we have napkins. Both the truffle fries, and the onion rings sounded good. So we ended up just getting both. The truffle fries had fantastic flavor but it felt like we had the bottom of the bag. All of the fries were very tiny. It's like when you go out for fast food, and it's all the tiny broken pieces at the bottom of your fries. They also come with a nice dipping sauce. Highly recommend. The onion rings were fantastic, I really enjoy how they are battered. I served by themselves, they are delightful. The staff were excellent! They continued to check on everybody and make sure that they had everything they needed, they were busing tables left and right. Very proactive in keeping the place clean and getting seating turned around for the next customer pretty quick. We will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu. They also have what appears to be an upscale joint next door of the same name with wine. That will also be a place that we'd like to check out in the future. Is it a drive, yes.
