I've eaten at this location a few times now. They never disappoint on their delivery of consistent food. My go to favorites are the stuffed puffy queso and quesadillas. The stuffed puffy queso can be filled with whichever protein you want and multiple if desired. I'd never had a puffy queso before here and I always get it. This location can get quite busy in the evening so plan accordingly. Also parking can sometimes be a challenge if you don't want to park away from the restaurant. There is plenty in the strip though. read more

2 stars ONLY because of the horrible acoustics! We've been eating at Los Tios for over 53 years. Dates, then spent many Friday nights planning our wedding at the Westheimer location. Raised our 47 yr. Old son eating at the Westwood location. Our 19 yr. Old grandson's baptismal celebration was at the Mo. City location. Done with sitting anywhere else than the booths. The back is inexcusably loud. If corporate would take steps to mitigate the horrendous volume it would be an enjoyable experience. We have to yell at each other to be heard. Next time we can't get a booth, we're going to Lupe'sTortilla Factory. So sad!!! Love the food. read more

This place has declined significantly. On multiple recent visits, the service has felt rushed yet oddly inattentive staff hurry to take your order, then disappear for long stretches without checking back in. There seems to be a clear disconnect between the servers and the kitchen. My last visit, we were served the wrong order, and when it was finally corrected, the food arrived cold. After politely pointing this out, the response was dismissive and noticeably unfriendly, and no one returned to follow up or make things right. I completely understand it was busy, but basic service standards shouldn't fall apart because of it. Attention to detail, communication, and professionalism are part of the job. Unfortunately, those elements were missing, which made for a very disappointing experience. There is plenty of Tex-Mex places to visit in "Houston". But I definitely won't be coming back to this one. read more

Living in Missouri City for two decades, I thought I'd tried every Mexican spot in town, but a friend recently introduced me to Los Tios--what a find! The 5:30 PM crowd proved it's popular for a reason. Everything was spot on: fresh salsa, queso, and top-tier guacamole to start. The frozen margaritas are stellar-- all you could taste was fresh lime and quality tequila without being overly sweet. Best of all, the fajitas were seasoned to perfection and tender, not overcooked like many places. The service was outstanding. Manager came over to check on us. This location has been around for decades and continues to be a popular spot in a Sugar Land for all your Texmex needs. Arrived here for lunch recently and was not disappointed. The complimentary chips and salsa was excellent, with the thin homemade chips served warm along with a green and red salsa. I went ahead and took advantage of the lunch specials, which includes a pick two option plus rice and beans. I went for the steak fajita and tostada. The plate came out piping hot. Everything was quite tasty and seasoned perfectly. The fajita meat was cooked well. I substituted the regular refried beans for refried black beans. They were also tasty and the right consistency. Came here for brunch on Sunday. As expected it was busy and got busier as our time progressed. Not a huge brunch menu but I had to have their chilaquiles. The only option available was salsa verde con pollo. Not a big fan of salsa verde but went ahead with it. Great start but afterwards the salsa verde starts to get more sour. All around fantastic! My family has been enjoying the Los Tios food for at least the last four decades!, trying most of them in the Houston Area, but of course the Sugar Land spot becam our choice because that's where we call home. My wife and I are now retired and enjoy treating my younger Mom to Los Tios for a great meal and many great memories. We love just about everything about the menu, but most definitely the puffy tacos, chili' con queso, the cheese enchiladas, and my favorite has to be the complementary pecan pralines after our meal. House Guacamole, Katie's T-sip dip, Nachos Los Tios, Fajita Beef Stuffed Puffy Queso, Fajita Beef Quesadillas, Deluxe Taco Plate, and the item I was looking forward to the most Sopapillas. I'm going to start with the Bad: I was so disappointed too. The Sopapillas description states "Four lightly fried pastries, dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar". Served with caramel and honey. What I got was only dusted with cinnamon so they were spicy/tart even with the caramel and honey they were still not good. I challenge the owner or cook to try it like it was given to me to see what we experienced. If it was in fact a mistake then you all owe me an order of Sopapillas please :). Good: While I was waiting for my food I did notice who I believe to be the owner personally checking on the people dining in. $5 Margaritas was popping and must have been good because everyone had one except me lol. As far as the food everything was pretty good, but the star of the show was the stuffed puffy which was surprising and sad that I only bought one. Like all the rest, I've been patronizing Los Tios for decades. First was your long gone Memorial Drive location, as well as the old Bissonnett location. This review will not be about your food, but the new outdoor dining area. After dinner last night I took a tumble due to the unmarked new step down to the new sidewalk area. Yeah, I should have been more aware of that new concrete extension which was added to accommodate it. Luckily I was able to get up with only a few bumps / bruises and NO BROKEN BONES! This is a law suit just waiting to happen. I would STRONGLY recommend marking this new step down with some safety marking of some type. We stopped by Los Tios while running errands and overall the service was okay and our waitress was nice/attentive. The quesadillas were really greasy and the portion is much smaller and messier than the other Los Tios restaurants I've been to which was disappointing. I think we prefer going to the San Felipe location going forward based on the quality of food and overall service. They also offered free pralines but they were pure sugar. My boyfriend is obsessed with sweets and even he couldn't eat them. We appreciate the gesture so o feel bad saying that but it's my honest review on the experience. read more

Tried to call in advance but they would answer but all u could hear was the background noise as the phone would be picked up. Then they sat a lady with her family of 12 who had just got there & then proceeded to tell us that it would be another 30min for our group to be seated. Horrible!!!
