Place is the best hole in the wall spot. I thought it was just carry out but when you go in the have an entire back side with booths and tables. Came in for Taco Tuesday! $1 hard shell tacos on the sign but didn't quite see the $1.50 for soft shell Either way it was a hit! The tacos were juicy and moist. The flavor was amazing. They do charge $1 extra for a side of pico but they were so tasty. Queso was good but I usually add my pico to it so it was missing something. Next time I'll clarify that I was a side of pico vs on my tacos. The Jamaica was okay. A little watered down but it was the end of the day. I'll definitely be back. My son liked the rice and beans as well. This place is in my top 5 The price was inaccurate for my tacos on the receipt but the manager fixed it for me and explained. I am eating the tortilla soup now and it's delicious! It's so good I'm taking a break from eating my lunch to post this! My boyfriend got the Hawaiian quesadillas and a horchata to drink. The drinking is yummmmmy, I can attest to this! He says the quesadillas are excellent. The service has been prompt and friendly. Aside from the way the building looks on the outside this is a very quiet and pleasant restaurant. The building looks a little sketchy to me but shame on me for judging a book by its cover. Average Mexican food. I thought the chips and salsa was good- my husband disagrees and said the salsa was bland and he thought the chips were stale. I got Fajitas with 3 meats and pineapple. I thought it was odd that it didn't come with vegetables... on the menus posted on here, it clearly says that, but I don't think it did on the printed menu. The steak in the fajitas was a little tough, but it was seasoned well, and a little too much grease. Other than that, they were very good. Not real impressed with the quality of food. We came for dinner and started with the cheese dip and made a change real fast to avoid getting dinner here. Casa Vieja is one of those places where the owners took a less than perfect older building and turned it into a very nice and cozy wonderful place for lunch. The service was excellent and fast! Our server was always quick to answer every question and take care of every request. I was using my GPS to navigate to this location. When I saw the building painted bright and red I knew immediately that was the place. The restrooms were small but had everything needed including luxury decor and assured cleanliness. This will continue to be one of our favorite finds in the Belmont area. read more

Rice was hard, taco shell had not been heated to crisp so it was stale, same for the burrito shell. The beef flavor was way off. Cheese dip, no flavor. Never again. Been here twice for Taco Tuesday. They also have $3 margaritas on Tuesday. The waitresses are nice, but not all native English speakers, so be a little patient. The first time the taco's were tasty, and they would do frozen margaritas. The second time, the tacos were bland and they would not make the margaritas frozen. My problem is if they can't make consistently good tacos, why would I risk $75 on dinner for three from their regular menu on other days? They've got to take Taco Tuesday more seriously as a way to get people to come back on other days of the week to try their other menu items. read more

Recommended by a neighbor so we gave a try and we're not disappointed, you can't judge a book by it cover and this is a great example. There is a lot to choose from on the menu and it can be a little overwhelming but if you can't find anything you like it is on you. The food came out hot and the portions were good and most it was delicious. The seating was cozy, comfortable and the Staff was friendly. Not over priced and worth every penny. Now, while husband speaks spanish and understands it quite well, the lady didn't seem interested in conversing in the native language. First time here. Like other reviewers, the place could use some maintenance. Seats on the booths are torn and decor is pretty dated. But it seemed clean. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. We did come after the main lunch time so things were also not as busy as they might have been at noon. Chips were warm and tasted fresh but we very broken up. The salsa was a bit mild for me, but was nice and flavorful. I had the chilaquiles and my wife had the lunch chimichanga with beef tips. There was to much red sauce on mine which made the chips in the chilaquiles too soggy. But the flavor was good. The rice was good and not dry like we find at many Mexican-ish restaurants. Delicious food, generous portions and friendly staff! We've been here a couple of times now, and it's quickly becoming a family favorite. The food is done extremely well (not bland or soggy like some other restaurants) and the portions are big enough that everyone leaves satisfied, even our teenage son. The wait staff has always been friendly and the service is fast. The building itself isn't much to look at from the outside, but it's definitely worth stopping in for dinner! We asked for the additional spicy/hot sauces/salsas which are EXCELLENT. One is a Jalapeno base, another some sort of chili, and a hot onion habenero kind of pico. Chips tasted freshly made as well. I got the pollo con crema and my companion the chimichangas. The con crema had well seasoned chicken with plenty of delicious crema sauce. The spanish rice was good as well. My companions chimichangas were delicious as well with well seasoned meat, generous portions, and a nice fry on them.
