I have been here a few times for various things. It's in a strip mall so parking is available although busy at times. The staff is friendly and welcoming even when they are busy. I always do to go orders. I get the chicken and rice lunch special with cheese sauce. I love their horchata. I sometimes just go there for that. I have also had their dessert before. The food is good. When it warms up I will go and sit down and eat instead of to go orders. read more

Was excited to eat at a (what seem to be) nice Mexican restaurant with a fluctuation of people coming in through the door plus the 20 minute wait time. HOWEVER, this place SUCKS. I ordered a pina colada and when I asked the waitress what comes in it she tells me just rum and pina colada mix. When it comes out it is filled to the rim with grenadine WHICH IS SO GROSS TO ME and I was not made aware of. When our food came my enchilada was cold with the cheese not even melted. Their spinach and cheese dip is always so good with the chips. We really like their vegetarian burritos and the salad with tomatoes and cheese is always fresh. I ordered the grande burrito to go. I had never been there before. I asked for an extra salsa for my burrito and was not told it would be $2 extra. I never in my life have been charged for extra salsa at a Mexican restaurant ! I got home and my burrito was good but my refried beans and rice were cold. Classic Mexican food or at least what Americans expect. The burrito had a nice mix of steak and veggies. The veggies still had some crunch which was nice. The steak was flavorful but not in abundance. The beans were the surprise. I'm usually not a fan but these had tons of flavor and I would bet money it's from good lard. The service was attentive even as they started to get busy. The tables are nicely spaced. I hate when it feels like you are sitting so close to others you can't hold a conversation. Ordered a carnitas enchilada over the phone. The guy was taking someone else's order in person while trying to take mine. He messed up, and what I got was clearly not an carnitas enchilada but their "carnitas" meal which was just two thin sliced and overcooked pork chops, a container of lettuce and three flour tortillas. Thin sliced pork chops are not carnitas no matter how you season them. What a terrible thing to have wasted my money on. I thought this place was pretty decent before, not great not but bad. But when people order carnitas enchiladas and you give them two tiny thin sliced pork chops and a small amount of lettuce, that's not carnitas and it's not even a whole meal. read more

It started out pretty good but definitely gone downhill. The naked burrito is VERY good, but I like a good margarita and Taxco disappoints every time. There is VERY little tequila and mostly just sweet mixer with a ton of foam on top, which is gross. The last time I went there, I had to remove the ton of foam on top. First off, admittedly, the food was pretty good; the ambiance was nice and the restaurant and Men's restroom were very clean, but the service was horrible! The incident occurred today (01/02/2025), and while I did not get the server's name, she was very dismissive, only because my Spanish was not up-to-par (by HER standards). Here is what happened: My order was incorrect, since "I incorrectly ordered the Milanesa plate, instead of the Milanesa sandwich", even though I was clearly pointing to the sandwich on the menu, instead of the plate... (which she was quick to tell me that I would have to pay extra), I was okay with that... But, what REALLY got me was the $5 up-charge for "grilled onions" and "two jalapeños" which were minuscule; mind-you, the sandwich was supposedly "fixed" and STILL contained raw onions!! The server tried to make it an issue about money, but I was just saying that it was dishonest to not be told up-front about those extra charges, especially for what I was given... I always tip, but this was one of the few instances when I was tempted not to tip; instead, I left a tip for the other hard-working busboys (Busmen..? ‍) that were ACTUALLY doing their job well, since she took a condescending tone with me, and the rest of the staff does not deserve the negativity, since under different circumstances, my dining experience would have been much better. Overall it would have been a solid 4-star review, but due to how I was treated today, I have to bring down the score to a 2-star. read more

So we went and had dinner here tonight, and the atmosphere itself was pretty laid-back and chill. It was more of a sit down and chill type of environment. The service was OK, the waiter couldn't remember what we ordered and had to come back, the drinks were brought one drink, because the waiter couldn't remember what the second drink wise. But most of them couldn't speak English when I tried to have a conversation about my order. But the big thing was the food wasn't terrible, but the food was completely full of grease, it was more like eating Street vegetable oil cooked and dumped on your plate It was to the point that my son didn't even want to eat his food at all, and then you have to watch your bill because I was being charged an additional four dollars for some thing that was supposed to be included in the meal I did adjust the bill and fix it, but it was definitely not a huge, pleasant experience, food, wise. read more

Great Mexican grill. This place is tucked away in a shopping center but had a surprising amount of seating inside. Fast and friendly service that like to make it personal. They make it feel like you are a guest in their home. The menu was very good with tons of traditional and Tex-Mex options to pick from. The start you out with chips and salsa that has a variety of heat levels to choose from(the hot was no joke) The food was very reasonably prices for what it was and had large portions and a great drink selection(see giant martinis) the specials menu was perfect. The drinks and food came out fast after ordering and the beef milaness was everything you could ask for. Was well worth the stop for lunch and will definitely go back. read more

I ordered super nachos and could swear I said beef but when she brought it out and I saw chicken I said oh I ordered beef and she said that's the way it comes and stormed off. Then when I was done rating and all the shredded chicken was on the side of the plate she said is everything okay and I said no and what I ordered and proceeded to get mouthy and said you ordered super nachos and never said beef and wanted to argue. I'm a small business owner and always try to support other small businesses. We teach a 4-day class here in Belmont, so each day is at a different restaurant. I've been eating at this location for years and never had an issue, so I decided to add it to our class. Today was the 3rd time we got food from here for the class. It usually has 8-10 different meals. To make it easy, when I call in the order, I always ask if they can write the name on it. The other 3 restaurants never have an issue with this. The first time I ordered from Taxco, they wrote the name like I asked, and everything was good. The second time, I called the order in like I normally would and asked for them to put the names on the box. The guy that answered the phone said, Yes, he can do that. When I went to pick up the food, nothing was written on the box, so I had to go through each box and open it up and see what belonged with what and to whom. When I asked the guy I picked up the food from, he said that he wrote down the names, but the kitchen must have forgotten them. I let it go. Today, I called in to order the phone, and I told Kevin what happened, and he said that they can't write the names on the boxes because everyone should know what they order, but he will do it for me this time, which is the last time. I told him that it's not sanitary to open 8 different meals and try to figure out what is what, especially when it's a burrito or a taco. He just kept on saying that everyone should know what they order and that they can't write the names on the boxes going forward. I was very disappointed. I asked to speak with the manager when I went to pick up the food, but he was the manager, so I just left. I will not be coming here anymore, and I will remove this restaurant from our class menu. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. I paid $15 for a chicken plate and got 1oz of old dry chicken. We also had the rudest waitress, she gave attitude when we asked for tea refills, or asked her to do her job. We finally checked out the local Mexican restaurant near us! This is pretty much your run of the mill Mexican restaurant, which is exactly what we were looking for. Their menu is extensive with all your favorite dishes- tacos, poblanos, quesadillas, enchiladas, etc. They also have great prices on margaritas and draft beer! Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We were served complimentary chips and salsa right when we sat down. We also ordered cheese dip, which was your standard delicious white queso with chips. For our entrees, I ordered the taco salad with shredded chicken and the fiancé ordered enchiladas suizas. His plate was huge, served with rice and beans. My taco salad was yummy, topped with guac, sour cream, and tomatoes. Don't expect anything fancy from Taxco, but it is a great place to get fast, easy Mexican food. They could definitely spruce the inside up a little bit. But overall, our bill was super inexpensive, and we left extremely full. I'm sure we will be back! read more
