Very great experience! We ordered to-go and the food was definitely 5 star, for sure!!! The taste of the steak was so good, you could tell it was seasoned extremely well! However, the only reason I gave 4 stars was because for the price of the steak salad I ordered, it wasn't enough salad. It barely filled the whole container. This place used to be great. I'm not sure if they changed owners or not, but we had one little issue in the three years we've gone there almost every week, and the manager was a complete jerk. We no longer go every week, we were really heavy tippers to our favorite waitress and will miss seeing her smile every week, and are still looking for our favorite little hole in the wall Mexican place. I have officially stopped giving this place another chance. I'm sad about it cause its less than 2 miles from my house. Create your own combo, tiny burrito with minced meat with no flavor. Lettuce on the Taco was nearing the rancid stage, and not even a teaspoon of cheese was present, quesadilla was soggy and the shredded chicken tasted like it was from a can. Good Mexican food, great prices, the service was very friendly! It is located in a run down shopping plaza with a thrift store and pawn shop, but this adds to the character of the restaurant. We find ourselves here all the time, at least once a week. Everyone needs "that little Mexican place up the road" that you can go to at the spur of the moment to get dinner and margaritas without having to dress up. Some of the employees have the personality of cardboard, which is okay with us because my poodle does, too, so maybe we're more accustomed to it than others... and the employees being forced to wear masks certainly doesn't help the situation lately. Some of the employees are exceptionally friendly, I wish I could remember more names, but my little girl especially loves Itzia and always has to chat with her a little. The Arroz Con Camarones is my favorite, shrimp over rice with some veggies and cheese sauce, you just can't go wrong there! My husband usually gets fajitas, my sons like the California Burrito... it's seriously as big as your head. Every time they have to have a contest of who can eat the whole thing first, it never gets old to them. My husband has gotten it several times and couldn't finish it a time or two, and he's a big guy, so, it's definitely filling. Yeah, let's talk about the margaritas. If you don't mind brain freeze, the frozen strawberry margarita is the best. I think I get the regular on the rocks more often, but I swear there's not though alcohol in there to get a kitten tipsy. For the price, I'd like to know I've had a nice amount of tequila after four drinks. ... aaaaaaand cell phone reception with Verizon is pretty horrible. Which isn't as horrible as you'd think, because you won't be bothered by your phone every two minutes while enjoying a quiet meal out. So, this place isn't *perfect*, but what place is? We just got back from the Charlotte Airport, about a 15 minute drive from there. I ordered the Tamale Deluxe, my boyfriend ordered Camaron Diablo and his mom two enchiladas. The food was pretty tasty, though for a Mexican restaurant and the authenticity... The restaurant itself is beautiful. But as far as the food, it's a hit and miss. We were charged for guacamole which was extremely salty, which is a first in a long time. Im used to the restaurants with the complimentary salsa bar. My boyfriends Camaron Diablo was overfilled with onions and tomatoes, he doesn't care for them. Haha. My plate was full and delicious. Mother in law was happy with her enchiladas. On business travel in Charlotte and drove out here on a lark because of the Molcajete. It was fantastic! Highly recommend it!

My family and I ordered take out this evening and it was Delicious!!! We had never ate there and decided to give it a try and we are very glad we did. We ordered carne asada with extra extra extra onions and they definitely put extra onions on our plate!!! The burrito was huge and if you love spicy lightly charred jalapeños, they are PHENOMENAL!! Went this evening and was kinda disappointed with the quality of the food. Being it was National Taco Day I opted for those. The meat was quite bland. No taco flavor whatsoever. My wife had the taco salad and felt the same way. We were even more disappointed at the fact they no longer give the little strawberry nacho things. Those were great. I'm just too cheap to pay for something that used to be complimentary. I also had the long island iced tea which was more like lemonade. Perhaps it was the virgin type. If it had any alcohol I couldn't tell it. Beer selection is almost nonexistent. No longer serving Landshark on tap. To say the least we were disappointed. This used be our go to place. What can I say? It's your basic, mediocre Mexican restaurant! Same refried beans, Mexican rice, and fried tortilla chips as every basic mexican restaurant. There's nothing funky about the meat or nothing gross on the lettuce like some Taco Bell restaurants, but it's still not the best place for Mexican food. Of course given the location, this might be a good choice for any Mexican food craving. The cheese dip is good as well as the entrees with chicken or steak. For tasty, quick ,and cheap Mexican food this is the place. There aren't many restaurants in this area, so if we're looking for something close to home that won't take all night or break the bank El Valle fits the bill. The servers have always been polite, efficient and accommodating. It surprised me that someone else said that they received terrible service here (FWIW I have never seen any female servers - maybe it was a different restaurant?). I love their pico that comes with the salsa and chips you get as soon as you're seated, and their pitchers of margaritas are tasty and fairly cheap. read more

The food was excellent!!! We had the chicken nachos, pollo Mexicano, tortilla soup, cheese dip, guacamole dip, and a cheese quesadilla with rice and beans. We ate late in the evening around 9pm and the service was great, and food arrived to our table in a timely manner. My only complaint was that I had to get our waitress to warm up the cheese dip, as it was not hot enough. The salsa could also be a bit spicier but other than that, great place to eat! This place is great. Good food for a good price and excellent service. I have been here a lot and have had a good portion of the more traditional dishes and I have never had a bad meal. My favorite is the carnitas, pollo con creama and the fajitas.They have fresh pico salsa and chips and delicious sopapillas for desert all for free. They also have great drinks margaritas, beers, and tequila. They do not have a lot of beer on tap but they do have one of my favorites dos equis and at a great price. I wish they would get Negra Modelo on draft too but this will do. read more
