Pizza made right and DELICIOUS. Hand tossed dough and a bonified pizza oven make for a great crisp crust. We've watched the chef and his sauce is clearly the magic ingredient. He starts with fresh everything. Tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic which he roasts in the oven for hours. When it's perfectly done, he purées it and voila!. Top it off with high quality meats, cheese and a creative assortment of toppings - yum! My husband and I stop here at least once every time we're in town. Too bad the place is so small. Go early or you will likely wait. You can order the pizza upstairs at Casablanca but it just doesn't seem the same. Different crowd and atmosphere. read more

Great Pizza! Thin crispy crust and wood fired! This is our 2nd time here and the pizza never disappoints. Try the salad it is plenty for two to share and yummy! Now the place is in the basement of Casablanca and is very very small but very nice and quaint. Come early to get a seat! The best part is it is Non-Smoking! So if you are a smoker you can still order the food upstairs! Although my beliefs are that All places need to be Non-Smoking! I would have given 5 stars, and the reason I didn't is that it is too small, they should have moved across the street where their new place Salsa is to accommodate more patrons. If I could give their pizza 6 stars, I would!! We had the Grand Glaze and the Cheryl ' s Doorman. Both were delicious. Cooked perfectly and the toppings went together perfectly. The kids had half cheese and pepperoni. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in our group and there was nothing left when we were done. The location on the other hand is not great for kids. It's small and confusing. There's no signs for the restaurant portion of the building versus the bar. We had to sit in the bar area because there wasn't enough room in the restaurant portion. We would order out next time instead, but we'll defiantly be back for the pizza! read more

Our group ordered a large Jordanmeister, a medium pepperoni, the pizza bites as an appetizer, and the bruschetta with chicken as an entree. I did not take part in the pizza bites, but everything else was delightful. The pizzas were far better than we expected they would be, and the ingredients tasted very fresh. It was neat seeing the chefs hand toss the crust before building the pizzas. Our waitress, Halie (insure on spelling) took great care of us and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. read more

We got the perfect parking spot and the perfect table after a couple minutes wait on Friday night. (The place is tiny) The menu is limited but the salad and pizza were good. The service was fair but like I said it was a busy Friday night. read more

Service was appalling! The owner should really be aware of how terrible the bartender/server at Casa Grotto is. Leah, I believe her name is, not friendly and not cleanly . We have been going to Casa grotto for a couple of years now and have always been impressed with food and service provided. But, in the last month the experience with service has drastically deteriorated. We will NOT be returning. May consider returning when different help is hired, with a happier healthier attitude. read more

Really like this place, but getting pretty pricey. We had a large two topping pizza and it was $25. When I mentioned to the waitress that seemed considerably higher, she said all the menu prices were recently increased. She said they were told it was because of the minimum wage increase that was passed in November. Come on guys, that increase is phased in over five years. Lost stars on price! read more

Walk in and you'll notice an interesting thing. A lot of locals. These are people who know where to eat and where not. This place is the real deal. Its not easy to find. It is downstairs below Casablanca. It seats 20 people only. However, you can order pizza and sit upstairs at Casablanca. As you can see this is the real deal. The dough is tossed, the oven is legit. The people are proud of their product. In my picture I am having the Doorman--its their mostly vegitarian pizza (we added pepperoni). I saw their heavy meat pizzas and they looked great. The salad (they have one) is a nice spring mix blend (no ice berg) with red onions, cheese, artichoke and olives. One salad serves two people. The menu includes grinders and calzones. Great thin crispy crust. The pizza was all the way 5 stars as well as the waitress who was very helpful when we were sampling their selection of craft beers. Only problem was we got there too early as the hours posted here seem to be for Casablanca the bar upstairs which you could order a pizza to, but it was not smoke free. read more

When we were there they were slammed and the owner and his wife were sitting at the bar drinking, not conducive for a owner, you would think they would get off their chairs and help out instead of reprimanding the bar tender and pizza chef. read more

Great upscale dive bar! Kinda confused walking into the upstairs Casablanca at first, but quickly figured out where Casagrotto was. Very limited seating, but the ambiance is very nice. Food is wood fired right in front of you. We had a pep/mush and the margherita pizzas. Both were delicious! Pricing is very reasonable. Staff was friendly and service was as quick as expected. Only thing that would have made it better would be outside lake view seating. We were lucky that a family was finishing up at their table, since there wasn't really a waiting area. Would definitely come here again when we're in the area. If you're in the mood for a pizza, hoagie, or grinder, this is a great place to go. read more

Have eaten at Casagrotto many times. Best pizza at the Lake...actually as good as the pizza anywhere (New York City included). Thin crust topped with a nicely spiced sauce and covered with fresh toppings cooked to perfection is just hard to beat. There are several other places that make a decent "pie" here at the Lake, but they just don't compare. This is a more than a restaurant, the pizza makes it a destination. read more

We've visited many pizza spots in many different states and this pizza is amazing! Make sure to go to the lower level of the Casa Blanca bar to find this gem. The Capo pizza is probably the best pizza we have ever had and the bartender even threw in some magic tricks in the end which we still can't figure out.
