I had such a great experience at Casale's Shoes! After a few days of walking through Cape May, I realized I needed new shoes. I walked in to Casale's Shoes and was promptly helped! They had a good selection of casual and formal shoes (for Men's I particularly remember Rockport and Clarks). They had a great pair on clearance in my size, and I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes. The staff were very helpful throughout my time there. Casales is my favorite shoe store. They regularly ontroduce me to brands i had never heard of before. Great new styles. They sell high quality shoes which are more expensive than other places, but the prices are competitive for the brand. I want to try on shoes and hate the on line experience. Splurged on Birkenstocks last weekend, and the staff there was amazing! They fitted them to my feet to make sure I was buying the correct size, and everyone wore masks and practiced social distancing. They even gave me care advice. My sister in law also bought an adorable pair of socks for her daughter, who was thrilled with them. Buy local folks, especially now that our stores are hurting. I have been a loyal fan of not only the great quality shoes this store has to offer but also of the family and their friends that work to provide you with your newest pair of comfortable, stylish, and properly fitted shoes that will help to save your feet as you walk and age. This is more than 'just a business' for those working here. Yes, they must earn money to live upon. But it's not done by deliberately or falsely representing anything to their customers. They will offer you education as to why certain types are better or more appropriate for what you are seeking and are honest as to whether what they have is the best product or not for you. These are genuine people who I now have come to think of as my 'friends, beyond acquaintances' with whom I can have a personal conversation and leave the store feeling better regardless as to whether I've left after buying 1 pr., 3prs., or none. I'm a dude. Dude's do NOT like shoe shopping. I actually enjoyed spending almost 45 minutes trying on different shoes and finding out what really fits me. At first I was a little off guard when the guy actually sat on the little stool and helped me put the shoe on- but then I realized that this place actually provides real service. They carry awesome shoes that you will not see at your local mall or even specialty shoe store. Everyone there really knew about what shoes they had and what would fit your unique foot shape. I wasn't planning on going back to Cape may again, but I will def be stopping by Casales in the fall to get some boots and some fall shoes... HIGHLY recommended!!! I'd been shopping for boots -- good boots -- for quite a while. Over a year ago I went to Casales and tried on a pair of 1000 Mile Wolverines, and the guy who helped me out was nothing but gracious. Super knowledgable, genuinely enthusiastic, and far from the usual pushy salesman selling $300 boots. I walked around in the boots, fell in love, but just couldn't quite bite the bullet. They were as genuinely friendly saying good-bye as they were greeting me, even though all I did was take up their time and put my feet in some of their nice boots. I went to a bunch of other stores after Casales, even tried on the exact same boots again, but never felt as comfortable or assured as I did when I was talking with the guy at Casales. So after a year I find myself back in Cape May, and back at Casales, and back in a professional, courteous, smart shoe shop. The salesman again knew what he was doing (and Wolverines are weird), and the woman behind the register was a delight to talk to. It's hard to spend big money on good boots (for me, anyway), but the staff at Casales answered all my questions, alleviated my qualms, and sold me the best pair of boots I've ever worn, with the best shoe store experience I've had. They were attentive in not only giving me the care kit, but making sure their advice about the conditioner was accurate. Wish I could give them six stars. Or more business. But I don't think I'll be buying any more boots for a long time. read more
