Oxtail, Jerk chicken, and Salmon (hidden under cabbage slaw) sampler platter with mac and cheese and rice and peas

I have been meaning to try out this place for months and finally had the chance today. I ordered the sampler platter that came with jerk chicken, oxtail, and salmon with rice and peas, mac and cheese, and a cabbage slaw. It was my first time trying oxtail (8.7/10) and I was impressed! The meat was tender and juicy. The salmon (6.5/10) was good, albeit a bit dry. The jerk chicken (8/10) was juicy and tasty! The mac and cheese (8.5/10) was soft but flavorful. The rice (7.8/10) was seasoned well and tasted good! i'm not a cabbage fan personally but the cabbage slaw (6.7/10) was seasoned well. I typically prefer mine cooked down a bit more but it was a good contrast with the rice. Lastly, I had a passionfruit juice (8.9/10) which was sweet, refreshing with the right hint of sourness. Plantains (9.2/10) were super soft, melt in your mouth, and the perfect amount of sweetness that wasn't overly done! The service was quick and pleasant! The lady at the front was nice and had my order ready in a decent amount of time. It's a cute family owned business and although they don't have a large space, the food is great. It's a bit pricy budget wise for one person but I did order the sampler and it did come with a hefty amount of food so I believe the price was fair. I will definitely be back for more!

Food is always presented well however it does not taste like it's cooked fresh daily.

I've had the curry goat roti, curry chicken, jerk chicken and she let me try the red pea soup and it was ALL AMAZING. Very authentic tasting West Indian food unlike other places that water it down for Americans. there isn't really any good place to get spicy good Caribbean food in town so this is perfect. The restarant is bright, colourful and clean and cozy. There's good seating here also for a big family. Definitely my go to spot when I'm in need of some good hearty food.

I stood there for 5 minutes before a lady from the back waved as if she'll be out shortly . After standing there 15 more minutes, I tapped the bell on the counter . She came out a few minutes later . I ordered my usual which is curry chicken ,rice and plantains. As I waited, waited and waited I noticed how hot is was in the restaurant. I began to perspire . Clearly there weren't any AC on. A customer arrived and based on his conversation with a gentlemen that came in later ( appear to be one of the owners) he's a regular. He asked for some cake and the employee/ owner told him they were out of cake. The customer proceeded to tell him he comes in every week and there's never any cake. The employee/owner said he'd get it next time . He seemed very nonchalant about the fact his customer is loyal and he never makes sure the cake is available. Keep in mind I'm still waiting on my food . It's been over 30 minutes waiting in this hot box. After about an hour wait the food was finally ready . No one never said how long it would be. Nor did anyone apologize for the wait or offer any drinks since it was actually hotter inside than outside. The food was packed tightly in a black tray with a clear lid. It was so packed I had to eat it over a big towel in my hotel room to prevent spillage on the bed. After the long hot wait, without any water , the food was bland. I didn't realize that salad had been squeezed inside the plate as well. I will never return . It's too hot there and the wait is too long . Especially since I was the only person in line . I gave them 2 stars because I was given a sufficient amount of food. Although I really think the plate was too small for that much food.

Recently, we discovered that there's a much larger part of the restaurant in the back, accessible through the alley off the main street via the rear parking lot. The space is decorated with Peruvian art and vibrant colors. To start, we ordered anticuchos (grilled beef heart skewers). The marinade is packed with delicious. I honestly thought I was eating steak. I ordered the chupe de camarones (shrimp chowder soup). I cannot stress enough how big this bowl of soup is. They do not skimp on the shrimp! It's probably one of the best chupes I've ever had. I ended up taking a large container of it home. Likewise, my partner ordered the chaufa mixto (Peruvian fried rice with chicken, steak, and shrimp). Always ask for the green sauce, absolutely delicious! Just like with my soup, he also had plenty of leftovers. To wash it all down, we ordered chicha (a purple corn drink), which was so good. This place is known for its rotisserie chicken, so we ordered a half chicken to go for the following day. I understand why it's everyone's go-to here, juicy and flavorful. We don't live nearby, but the food, friendly service, and generous portions of delicious dishes make it well worth the trip.

They've been open roughly 6 months, so I do not feel like I've been missing out for too long. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, and thankfully not a long wait. I ordered the curry chicken w/cabbage and rice & peas. The curry was flavorful and finger-licking good, falling off of the bone; although some of my peas were rock hard but other than that the rice & peas were delicious, too. The cabbage was sooo good!!! I could have used a tad more, but I chocked that up to personal preference - i LOVE cabbage! I guess I was so mesmerized by the inviting aroma that I forgot to take a picture of my food (which usually never happens), but take my word... the container was empty. The menu has plenty to offer and I am looking forward to trying the jerk chicken next time - which is made on the grill (not the oven). I also loved the decor and art on the walls. Great food and the service is what won me over completely. While waiting for my order, I met the cook and chatted with the owner, Maxine, who is extremely personable and polite. I could have talked to her about quality food and quality customer service all day. It's nice to converse with owners of establishments who just 'get it'. The professionalism here is on point. And make no mistake about it, she reads all reviews and takes all feedback into consideration. There's also a very nice outdoor space with seating and live music. I will definitely be back! 5 stars earned and well-deserved!

The ambience is cool and appealing, the music was a little loud, especially during the DJ party. The furnishing is warm. The place has been redone by new ownership (2026). I wasn't a fan of the coconut shrimps sauce, it was too runny, not solid consistency at all. The shrimp itself didn't contribute much, so the sauce was what needed to bring it home. The Cuban was flavorful, but we both agreed that the pork was dry. I'd give them another shot if invited, but I wouldn't go back on my own. Mana is a nice space with a huge mural painted on one wall with several tables spread out in the restaurant with a comfortable distance between them. To the right is the counter where you order and pay. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and I would have been happy to dine in had I not been running errands. The food is mostly laid out on a steam table behind the counter. I saw different kinds of chicken, pernil, potato salad, green salad, empenadas and more. I wound up ordering yellow rice with black beans and a baked chicken leg. I also ordered a side of Maduros and a chicken empanada. Here's how I found everything (keeping in mind I took it home to reheat before I ate it): Chicken Empanada Unlike most empanadas I get nowadays, this one seemed to have been fried, with a crispy, yellow outer shell. The crunch was fantastic and I really liked the flavor. The chicken inside was super tasty and I immediately wished I had ordered another of these. Maduros I LOVE a good plantain but they are surprisingly hard to find. I would say if I go to five restaurants with them perhaps only two will have really good ones. Maduros should have a nice chewiness, maybe even a bit of caramelization on the outside with a wonderfully sweet flavor. I am happy to report that Mana has exactly this and it was great! Chicken & Rice with Beans The rice with beans were good and had some veggies mixed in. I've had better and I've had worse, so this falls straight in "B" territory. The chicken was the same - tasty, well cooked, moist but the flavor was average. Flavor-wise this is a good dish (not amazing). That said, the *serving size* was tremendous and there was enough rice for me to have over two meals and for that it deserves high marks! I really enjoyed the food from Mana. Sure it's not the best ever, but it was good and priced reasonably. I'd definitely go again.
