Saffron Pappardelle - lobster, sun dried tomatoes, parmesan, basil

We stopped by for lunch on Monday and there only a handful of other parties in the restaurant. They seated us immediately. There's not a lot of places that are open for lunch on a Monday so I'm glad Casbah does lunch! Our server was lovely and asked us if we wanted a second bread basket. The pastas we got were good and my ricotta cavatelli was a generous size. We split a dessert because it looked so good!

Casbah was a great find and amazing WIN! Do not sleep on this one!!! We went for lunch, on my wife's birthday. She had the best Cosmo she ever had. I had a Black and Gold Rush, that was a bourbon special, celebrating the Steelers, during the 2026 draft. For lunch my wife had beautifully seared scallops. I had the most wonderful cheese board!!!! Wow! Then we both ordered the red wine flight. All 3 wines were spectacular and generous pours. Please ask for Sam to serve you. She was so sweet and attentive. We sat outside and loved the vibe, but indoors looked beautiful too!

I'm rating Casbah again to put an exclamation point on the fact that it's just always good. Always. Stopped in on a spur of the moment decision to celebrate a milestone last night (short notice, last minute reservation). Food was delicious as always, and our server, Paige, was a boss. Food= 5/5, Paige = 6/5. (Thanks for the carrot lava cake tie-breaker vote, Paige. Game changer.)

What a treat! Free valet but you do have to tip! Worth it. So worth it. It looks like its on the side of a strip mall from the outside and the inside had two different areas. We were seated in the well lit area and it was beautiful. Our service was great. I got a wine flight. I enjoyed all 3. But the mushroom lasagna was unreal. I think the mushroom was dehydrated and it was like crispy bacon. The best Ive ever had. And the bread service had two different butters which I am always a fan of. We loved it! It is on the pricier side but thats why I say its a treat!

Have not been here for over 20 years since celebrating an anniversary for my parents...stopped for a bite after shopping with a friend....greater as soon as we walked in and asked our seating preference...seated indoors and waited on immediately...given menus and ordered a Cosmos (what a girlie drink) ...when I saw a Shrimp and Calamari appetizer, I knew it was for me....did not disappoint...soft music and low lighting...bathroom spotless also

While I've been to Casbah for brunch a couple of times, we recently did dinner for the first time. I requested seating at the lower level, which turned out to be a great choice as I think the ambiance is way nicer downstairs. They seemed to suggest they use it more so as an overflow for walk-ins. We had some of their non-alcoholic mixed drinks, which tasted good and came with nice presentation that is often lacking. We had the Burrata as an appetizer. We didn't want the accompanying Prosciutto, but the server replaced it with hummus and pita, which was a very nice gesture. We had the Short Rib Ravioli, which was rather hearty, and the Branzino. The bread pudding was a bit unique in that it seemed more along the lines of crispy toast; however, I was really pleased with it. It was creative and a winner! I'd love to have it again. One change or addition I would have liked was a bit more olive oil in flavors and accompaniments given this is a "Mediterranean" restaurant. Also, I think they would be well served to polish the presentation a bit since dishes seem to come with splatters. Good date night spot!

Casbah is a great option for special occasions, date nights, and visitors. The ambiance is rustic, intimate, and would be suitable for smaller groups (with reservations). If you sign up for the restaurant groups mailing list, they send you a credit for an entree valid at most of their restaurants. We chose here and were not disappointed. They offer fun seasonal offerings in addition to pastas and their main menu. During our visit they had a winter pasta festival theme with 6 smaller pasta dishes. They all looked great. It's actually a mailing list I enjoy reading the emails from. We tried the Spanish octopus appetizer, ricotta cavatelli, and Lemon Lumache (winter special). Everything was great. Service was good, nothing over the top. Would try again.

The food is fantastic and never disappoints. Our server, Iris was wonderful, gave excellent suggestions and pairings, and didn't rush us. The ambiance is charming. The front dining room feels like dining in a canopied garden, even in February! Casbah isn't just dining out.. it's an evening out. Before I forget... the salted caramel after your meal.... they sell them! Get a dozen to go!

I started with an Aperol spritz, which was great. The food was superb! The burrata appetizer with cherry tomatoes and prosciutto was so good that I ate it before I had a chance to take a picture of it. The roasted half chicken with potatoes, carrots, squash, mushrooms, pistachios, and thyme. Juice was out of this world! The server, who was excellent and accommodating, had recommended the chicken and I'm glad I listened to him. The chicken skin was crispy and tasty, and even the salad and vegetables were seasoned perfectly. Even the bread was so good that I took all the extra bread home! The restaurant is so quaint I felt like I was eating in Europe. The valet parking on site made it very easy to get in and out.

Decided to celebrate our 11th anniversary at a place we hadn't been before - Casbah. We were seated downstairs which was cozy and intimate. Our server was very attentive and the pace of the meal was perfect. We had a hard time narrowing down our food choices, but I think we made some excellent picks. Started off with the crispy calamari and rock shrimp, roasted beet salad, and grilled artichokes. For our mains, my husband ordered the red pepper casereccia with scallops while I opted for the Scottish salmon with lentils and green beans. Everything was so delicious, and we managed to eat it all! Despite being completely full from our meal, our server brought us salted caramels which was a nice surprise. Thanks for a wonderful evening, Casbah!

Dined here for a friend's birthday and ordered the tuna tartare to start. It was delicious! The calamari was a great portion size to share. Then I had one of their pasta options for my main. Always a good option for more upscale shadyside dining.

Turkish Tea - 4.5 stars - This black tea was a good size and was served hot. Packets of sweeteners were available. The total price was $55 plus tax and tip.

The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.

Our fave foodie neighbor recommended this over highly-rated Med Table (still haven't tried that place yet, so our verdict is out!). Overall, our meal was really good (not great). Appetizers: hummus & baba gannouj were tasty. We opted for their "regular" size which has given us plenty of leftovers! (Other options: small & large). Hummus was the fave; I've definitely had more flavorful baba. We opted to toast all the mounds of huge pita that came with the meal, though. We're not fans of cold, "raw" pita with dips. Entrees: I got the Genie's combo plate - a couple of interestingly spiced , though somewhat dry chicken thighs (spice called "mishwi" - seemed almost like a Berbere-type seasoning w/ cinnamon in the profile) on a bed of basmati & a helping of tasty, crunchy pickled turnips & Lebanese salata (like Mediterranean pico de gallo). The standout item on this place - far and away - was the roasted, spiced cauliflower. I would have that ALONE - no chicken. I liked the dish, overall, but it didn't knock my socks off. I would look for solo-cauliflower next time. Hubs got the Shish Tawook rolled pita - he really enjoyed the grilled chicken with pickled turnip and excellent homemade garlic sauce. He said he'd def reorder. Top tip - get that garlic sauce (if u like garlic). It's AMAZING. No dessert for us, though what an impressive list they have! We'll definitely return to try some other options.
