This place has the best gyros in the area!!! Service is amazing and the food is so fresh!

Really good gyros and chicken and steak sovlaki is good. Fries are great just out of the fryer. The salad and dressing is perfect

Preface: I gave 2 stars for food since it was pretty good. Nothing special. This was my first time ordering from the Gyro Shop and I was thoroughly disappointed. I wanted to order the greek salad which explicitly states that they are "made fresh to order, please mention any exclusions". We call to order and begin listing what I don't want on my salad. I am immediately told they can't do that so we hang up and reevaluate what I can order. I called back and asked to speak with management since the menu seems to be outdated. The associate (male) who answered the phone was quite rude and not understanding whatsoever. He asked me what I needed management for and never clarified whether he would get management or if he WAS management. Considering that their menu is outdated and unclear, you would think they would be remotely understanding or apologetic. Nope! The guy is short, blunt, and cannot properly explain how the salad is "made to order" but can't be customized. Either a meal is customizable or not but at least make sure your menu is accurate. Speaking of menu inaccuracies, the prices on their menu are also wildly outdated. We paid significantly more than was estimated from their menu prices. The Greek Shop, Pick a struggle, either have an outdated menu or bad customer service but you can't have both. I never stepped a foot inside the store, but after this encounter, I never will. read more

Keep it simple! That's what the shop is and the food is delicious. I typically get the jar of salad with an extra pita definitely enough to make a sandwich and still have salad left over. read more

7/31/25 Ate List: Traditional Gyro - 6.8 Fries - 7.1 First time here in awhile and was craving a good gyro - and I will say they have it. Flavors are delicious, it's what comes to mind when you think gyro. Fries were fresh cut and tasty too. Complaint here was the wait and the cost. A big group or a to go order ahead of you and you're looking at the wait time multiplying. Sat at the counter for 40 minutes when I thought I was looking at a max. 10 minute wait. You add that in with the cost being about $25 total, it just doesn't feel great. Returning here will definitely be to satisfy a craving and will hope that its at an off hour or with a near empty crowd. The team seems kind and hard working though and the portions were great. read more

Who doesn't love this place? Anytime you're in the area and if you like Gyros and some other delicious Greek treats this is a must stop. The crew are always welcoming and friendly and friendly make you feel at home. Easy to get along with and a decent size dining area. They have bottled drinks and self serve fountain pop. The gyros are always delicious and fresh and one of the best in all of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. The desserts are to die for as well. I just had another epic pharmaceutical-grade Gyro from the Gyro shop. Cooked perfectly. Soft and crisp. Loaded with so much meat it seems like a mistake, And tzatziki sauce straight from God in Heaven. Just one shot of vitamin Gyro, and I am cured of all of life's ailments, big and small. I'm seriously going to live forever as long as the Gyro shop in Wexford is open. read more

I am not usually a huge fan of this type of cuisine...or maybe I should say, it is not a cuisine I crave very often. I usually enjoy it when I eat it, but it is never my top pick. My husband wanted to try it out and it was good place to take our toddlers to, though the restaurant wasn't particularly clean. I got the traditional gyro pita and my husband got the crispy chicken. Mine was great. Nice flavors, with a pita full of toppings and sauce. My husbands was nothing special...while it still had a nice amount of toppings and sauce, the chicken was a frozen chicken patty (though they did fry it right then so it was hot and "fresh") but I wouldn't necessarily suggest getting that one. Stopped in with the family for an early dinner after running errands in Wexford. When we showed up we were the only in/restaurant patrons, but they took several calls for orders too so it seems like they must stay pretty busy. The two boys working looked to be about high school age and were friendly enough. We ordered a traditional gyro, crispy chicken gyro, chicken tenders and fries for the 4 of us. Total tab came out to about $30 bucks which isn't too bad when feeding 4. The fries were a generous portion and the gyros were a good size too so definitely come with an appetite! Only complaints were just the mess around every table, in the bathroom, sticky floors and soda pop fountain. It just feels like this place could use a little TLC and elbow grease to make it more pleasant for eating in. read more

I had the chance to stop in today for a quick lunch and am so glad I did. It started with a warm welcome from behind the counter and followed with fast service. This place is great! Small menu and everything is done well. They are quick with pick up orders and you get a good amount of food for the price. We ordered two gyro platters that came with fries and side Greek salad. All delicious! The meat was tender and not dry. The sauce it came with was great too! First of all, the prices are wrong on the website. I got the chicken platter and it said 14 dollars which is completely over priced for what I got anyway.. but I was charged 18 dollars. The chicken was overcooked, not seasoned, the tzatziki sauce was FLAVORLESS, the only thing good was the fries. My Greek ancestors are ROLLING in their grave right now!! Food was good but prices didn't match the website. We ordered over the phone based off the website. Example: Fries say $3.75 but got charged $5. Gyro pitas say $8.50 but you charged $10.50. You're website needs to reflect what you are really charging. read more

a no-frills, casual eatery with quite possibly the best gyro i've ever eaten....tender, succulent meat, perfectly seasoned and cooked on a vertical broiler right in front of u...the portion is very large ( i toyed with the idea of eating just half of it- forget that nonsense)...the tzatziki sauce is also outstanding all on a fresh, warm pita...SO FREAKING GOOD also pictured (though the pic doesnt do it justice) is the spanakopita...light flaky phyllo dough on the outside and a gooey cheesy and spinachy inside and all for $15?!!! their lemon chicken soup (my name for it, not sure of the exact name) is likewise xcellent...my understanding is its homemade locally and when its gone, its gone...this time, it was gone...too bad for me! i will add a pic next time i get it. read more

We absolutely love Greek Food. Always looking for the best gyro. Unfortunately, there aren't that many good options. We're so happy that it's not that far from us so we can go there often. We've been going to this awesome shop for a while now. The gyro and gyro fries are the stars and are my absolute favorites. There is so much food in both dishes. My husband and I both eat on the gyro fries for two days. They are extremely generous with the tszatsiki and feta. My husband really likes the lemon and chicken soup. Definitely check them out. Recently got food from here to go. Called ahead on a Friday night and it was ready in 20 mins. The taste and portions were outstanding. I can't say enough about the size of the traditional gyros, huge, fluffy pita (like naan) and packed full of meat, tomatoes, and onion with cucumber-yogurt sauce. I always like a lot of sauce, so ordered extra sauce. We also got 3 fries, which are skin-on, 3 spanakopita, and baklava for 2. I felt the total was a bit high at $84 (including a 4% credit card charge) but the food is really write-home outstanding. I like Gyros! I ordered the original gyro. Two gents worked very hard behind the counter. They were getting slammed by to go orders and those waiting. I probably waited 10 -15 mins. The wait was worth it. Large portion size. The fries were super hot. Please note the fry count is only exceeded by Five Guys (but not by much) I enjoyed all aspects of meal. It is what you expect. This a great alternative to the chain restaurants and frou-frou in the Wexford area. Very casual and old-school (reminds me of my favorite college sub shop) with a busy atmosphere. Everything tastes very fresh and far FAR beyond any cheap gyro place. Very flavorful and generous portions, just enough tzatziki to make itself known without getting all over the place. My Big Fat Greek Gyro is the best gyro place that I have visited, and Ive had a lot of gyros in my life. The gyros are fantastic, they put a lot of lamb on and the sauce is very good. The fries at this restaurant are great and so is the pita bread. The service at this place is always great along with the set up. They make the gyros right in front of you and you have the option to eat right at the bar or at seats.
