I thought they were friendly enough but also watchful of people's coming and going and that's GOOD because they are buying and selling GUNS to the public, not Latte's You're also witnessing an older generation dealing with Xs and Zs, millennials, whatever.... I liked their dry sense of humor, honest prices, and they seem knowledgeable about their products. All of the employees at the register saw me walk in and refused to welcome me so I decided to say "hello, how are you all doing ?" No one responded just stared at me with a look of disgust. I've been buying and selling guns and knives to these guys for years. They are fair and honest. It's common for people to feel like they are being ripped off when they go to pawn shops. However, keep in mind that, like any business, they need to make a profit and will make offers based on what current demand is or will be. I used to work in a used book store and had to both buy and sell books. I know this isn't a perfect comparison with a pawn shop, but the process of evaluating the cost of goods is similar. As such, I'm familiar with the percentages commonly offered for used items marked for resale. Cascade Loan consistently falls within the common percentage range for items bought from the public then resold. They are not ripping you off. They need to sell an item for more than they paid. They're just not friendly. If you're just checking out what's for sale it can feel like you're not welcome. Even when pawning stuff to them felt like they didn't want me there even though they took it. Great place to find cool things. Mike and Kevin are the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, honest and great to talk to. I check out Armslist almost every day for firearms and can pay for it over the phone and do paperwork when I am in town. Dissatisfied customers usually are offended because they are not treated like a god, most might need counseling. I worked firearm and reloading in the past and some disturbed customers always popped up, its just human nature. It's best to have grace, patience and remember the hundreds of customers that act reasonable, I think Mike and Kevin do this. read more

Cascade Loan & Sporting Goods - Pawn Shops Near Me - Auburn, Washington

My Dad and I have been going to Cascade since we moved to the Auburn area, around 10 years. As many times as I've come in and made a purchase, I've come in at least 3 times and bought nothing. I've never been made to feel unwanted when I don't spend money, which is a rare feat for a pawn shop. Usually I stop in for the excellent deals on blurays (I can't believe I just gave away my secret movie store), and I always check the stock on firearms because there's always new stuff. I've bought a lot of guns, and the times I've bought from Cascade have been smooth and hassle free. These guys know their stuff, guitars, gold, tools, and firearms. They don't seem to sell it unless they can tell me all about it, except for video games, no one knows more than me about video games. Any time you have a store where customers can sell things, you will get crazies. You will get people who think their junk is passed down from the old country and is worth more than your house, they have just been waiting until they need money to take it to the old pawn shop and cash it out. I've been a part of these transactions on both sides before and I can tell the staff here try to be as nice about it as possible. I've worked at high end gun stores, and I've worked at other buy/sell/trade business, and this is the one I shop at. -about the review from Denise, businesses that sell firearms are strictly regulated. And every year these businesses are watched even closer. There is no bending the rules on federal and state regulations. I'll assume you're talking about guns, but in any case you can't blame the business for following the law. I would not recommend. While the place is clean, they certainly deal in low end. If you have something of exceptional rarity such as certain types Antique Arms, don't waste your time going here, very little knowledge, nothing is more irritating than a business that doesn't engage with the Customer in the 21st. Century, I'm sure they have lost tens of thousands by being on the lazy side. They may however be very interested in your old power saws, guitars and other pocket money stuff. I have to laugh at the prior post! If you brought in some little 1/2 carat cluster ring and he is giving you only gold weight, you should be THRILLED!!! Please do real research when buying your jewelry and don't fall for the "Jewelry markup." This shop has deteriorated over the years.they really don't care about customer satisfaction. The help is friendly but the owner is less than friendly and his only concern is getting your money. They do not know their Federal Firearm Regulations and can cause you a lot of aggravation when trying to purchase a firearm. Most of the firearms are way over priced. I was there today to buy a used firearm, I was legal in my purchase but the clerk was confused about regs. I left there upset without the gun. The owner was standing there with another customer knowing I was legal but did not lift a finger to help. Because of the way I was treated by the owner, I will never go back. I've been buying stuff here for the last ten years or so, I discovered it when I lived in Auburn for awhile. The main reason I'm writing is to contradict the Got T. review. This person is flat out wrong. I've bought 3 separate guns there and generally spend a good amount of time when I'm in there. Each one of my gun transactions were flawless. These guys really know their weapons and my paperwork has always been processed quickly and efficiently, but I always have proper ID and know how to fil out the papers. I've seen more than a few people get turned away on a gun purchase there because they did not have the proper ID or were acting in a shady manner, like when one person chooses the weapon and their buddy tries to make the purchase. This is illegal and those people should be turned away as it is likely that one of them is not legal to purchase/possess firearms. I've seen people with funky ID get turned away also. This happens because the staff at Cascade know their stuff and conduct a legal above board business. If you're going to buy a gun, you should know that you need certain things like current, valid ID in order to complete a purchase. People who can't manage to bring such basic things to make a major purchase shouldn't be able to buy guns in the first place, and in that regard Cascade is doing its part to keep their community safe as well as their business. Cascade has a lot of other stuff besides guns. I have bought plenty of coins and silver there at great prices. The guitar selection can fluctuate but they usually have a few sweet guitars to choose from. Their knife selection is usually great with lots to choose from. Ignore the review from Got T. Maybe they had a perceived bad experience, but I'd bet they didn't have their stuff together to be able to make such a purchase. It is highly unlikely that Got T knows more about gun business regulations than the employees at a pawn shop that deals with many many gun gun transactions. If an employee was handling a gun transaction improperly, I doubt that the owner/manager would sit idly buy while the employee drove out a potential sale. Go buy something at Cascade if you're in the area, or go pawn something if the need arises. They run a good business and usually have a great selection of guns, many times collector and niche guns. They don't have hundreds of new ones, but unique ones at decent, negotiable prices. And they do a 3 month layaway in case you find something you just have to own but can't fund it right then. read more

The younger gentlemen at the counter was just kind of RUDE. I brought in an 18k 1/2 carat in small one point/cluster daimond ring to see about a loan on. He told me all he would do is scrap gold no diamond weight.. not even gold weight really, it was scrap. The ring is crystal clear like new and honestly I WILL NEVER BE BACK no wonder the place is just dead.. I'm sure Cascade Loan & Sporting Goods Inc is on the way out! read more

Be careful and do your home work....".Dishonest people" These guys will tell you the cost of a new gun is a lot higher then it really is, Just to sell you a used gun for the price of new GUN or EVEN MORE..When you call them or actually go there and show them that a new gun" same model # " and everything is about 100.00 dollars less then you paid for there used gun, They are real short and tell you "oh well you bought it" . sales are final. They will not even try to work with you in any way. They just walk away from you .
