We had such a nice experience here! We were enjoying out day at the Biltmore Hotel. We were getting a little hungry so we decided to order some food poolside. It was hard to track down a server, but when we did, the food came out quick and seamless. We split the black bean smash burger. It was very tasty, the roll was soft, and the creamy herb spread added a lot of flavor and a little spice. The avocado on the top and tomato was a nice touch. The fries were sooo good. I'm not a fry person, but i couldnt stop eating these. They were very potato-y and very seasoned. I loved the food there. read more

Had the burger and chicken sandwich. It was just ok. They need to use fresh ingredients instead of being lazy using frozen food. Why can't you cut a few potatoes and have fresh cut fries? Why do you have to use frozen food- don't you have a refrigerator that you can prepare food using fresh ingredients. When you are charging $30 a person- I don't expect sub-standard food. I am sorry but you need to revamp your menu and your head chef. What's more sad is seeing a family of 4-5 people paying $200 to eat that garbage. A mom and daughter day at the spa at Biltmore Hotel, the spa services are great, the massage amazing. After we had lunch by the pool, the crab cakes were excellent and so where the steak quesadillas, didn't get 5 stars because the margarita were blah, i'm certain they could elevate their margaritas to match the beautiful ambiance and delicious food, after all, you're at The Biltmore, you expect the best. Service was fabulous though, kudos to all employees and their friendly/helpful attitudes! PS The Bake shop inside Biltmore Hotel, coffee and croissants are great BUT the other desserts i bought to go (cuatro leches & chocolate mousse) were both old and stale, you would think they would discard desserts not bought by their freshness expiration date!! If it's a beautiful Miami day and you're looking for some sun Cascade is a great option in the Gables! Last on Saturday I feeling this way, but didn't feel like driving to the beach or far so my friend and I went for a quick drink and bites. When we got there even though we didn't have reservations or anything we were sat right away! The restaurant staff was all very nice and polite. To eat we got some guac, shrimp, and chicken tacos. The food was all good! Was it the best ever, no, but it does the trick and the atmosphere helps! The drinks were also good. We did't get anything fancy, just sauvignon blanc and tequila with club soda, but they both tasted good and had great alcohol to mixer ratio. Cascade was a lovely time and I hope to be back soon now in the Miami "winter" months where our weather gets even prettier! read more

The restaurant wasn't at capacity, so, in the absence of any clear explanation for the wait, it would appear that our order was simply forgotten. What I received was a single, small, flavorless pancake. I caught a hint of lemon in one bite out maybe 12. My girlfriend's order had soggy, corn tortillas covered in what appeared to be ballpark nacho sauce. On top of that, there was a 20+ dollar service charge to the meal. The location is unarguably lovely. Poolside dining, attentive service, ample shade. The menu is comprehensive and could cater to pretty much any need or whim. I ordered the beet salad and added grilled chicken, expecting a freshly cooked piece of chicken. No. The salad was adequate, the chicken was frozen and defrosted pre-cooked, bagged strips. Spongy, an unappetizing and weird sickly beige, and when pressed with the back of a fork, it released a salty, watery liquid. Completely unappetizing and for an additional $8, I expected more. My husband's club sandwich was enormous. Very generously filled, but the turkey was chopped/pressed/formed lunch meat vs turkey breast, and the lettuce was wilted and not fresh. We are staying at the hotel and so will have to find some other options over the next few days, so fingers crossed we can find some better offerings. read more

Stopped by after a trip to the spa. Menu was surprisingly underwhelming for an expensive hotel. Nothing vegan. Asked if a dish could be modified and was told everything is premade and changes can't be made. Ordered the salted edamame which came out swimming in so much sesame oil it was in inedible. When the check came they didn't mention they'd already added 20% but had circled additional gratuity highlighting that they thought I should pay them more than 20% - this is my pet hate. I tip everyone 20% but if you've chosen to already charge me you should say that and not try to trick me into giving you a 40% tip. We waited 20 minutes to be greeted by a hostess, asked a waiter if we could check in, he said we had to speak to the hostess and then waited another 15 minutes. We should have left. But FINALLY got seated only to wait 15 minutes to be greeted by a waiter. Ordered drinks and food right away (didn't want to have to wait again to place our order). Breathtaking views, clear waters, and a Mediterranean Cuisine that will definitely impress. This little hidden gem is tucked away on the Historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The hotel literally looks like a Spanish castle. Huge pool with a cascading waterfall and that's where you will find the Cascade Poolside Grill restaurant. It so relaxing and mellow here and a must see if you're in the area or Miami period. I was served by an awesome server by the name of Neilson. He offered some great insight on the menu and selection of entrees. They have a pretty simple but interesting menu that I would describe as Mediterranean/American Traditional. I'm a big seafood lover so I had to satisfy that craving and set my eyes on the Lobster & Shrimp Tail. The presentation was spectacular and picture worthy as you'll see. As much as I wanted to take my time and savor the taste I couldn't because it was just that darn good. Anyhow the food was GREAT, the poolside views are something you have to see with your own eyes, service was spectacular (pool attendants were very friendly and even set me up on a pool chair with a small table and complimentary water without me even asking). Also if you have the time feel free to roam the grounds of the hotel, there is a golf course, nice elegant lobby where there was a lady playing the harp, and if im correct they do tours of the hotel on Sundays...and 3 other restaurants to pick from in the hotel. read more

If I could sum up my experience in three short words, I would choose quality, ambiance and attentiveness. For Being an unassuming poolside grill, Cascade grill surpassed my expectations. To begin, my mother and I were seated almost immediately, which was perfect, because we were starving. The menu consists of mostly sandwiches and salads and we chose to split the fish sandwich and burger. Without the request, the staff took it upon themselves to split the plates for us, which was very convenient and let us skip the messy nuisance of splitting the sandwiches ourselves. This was only one of many highlights of how the staff had been helpful and attentive with our order and it made all the difference. Quality was what won me over, as any grill can have a burger on their menu but making one comparable to those of a high quality restaurant is not always usual or expected, even in a hotel like the Biltmore. I definitely recommend both dishes ordered and pro tip: order the sweet potato fries! Finally, ambiance because what could be comparable to a breezy Miami winter day by the water! I am a big fan of Cascade and have been there several times in the past. Today I went to the Biltmore Spa for a massage and once my friend and I were done, we decided to have a leisurely lunch by the pool. The ambiance there is always great. Even on an overcast/rainy day, it was so picturesque and serene to dine by the pool. We ordered the jalapeño margaritas. They were made with fresh squeezed lime and agave. They of course had the perfect kick. We ate the churrasco steak accompanied by asparagus spears and thin french fries. The steak was juicy and savory. We shared the fish dip as an appetizer. It comes with a side of chopped tomatoes along with pita bread and crispy bread with olive oil. Both the entree and the appetizer were really good. We had a beautiful afternoon with quality, tasty food, a lovely view of a beautiful pool and good service. What more can you ask for? ;) read more

Lovely , fun and wonderful tables by that gorgeous pool. Enjoying lunch , we order 2 tequilas.. but not in shot glasses but rather plastic martinis glasses . Food was absolutely delicious and tasty . The waiter deserved kudos.. he found bread rolls for us to eat with lunch. They didn't have them on the menu with my gazpacho soup. We also ordered the veggie dip platter and the 2 crab cakes. But then time to pay.. $8 charge for using plastic poolside martinis glasses. It's so ridiculous that 2 ladies eating their lunch were over charged for drinks! Every time we've come here the food has been awful but the ambiance is great. Today we brought a guest who was moving to France and they outdid themselves in the bad food department. The frito misto was greasy and hard, no shrimp. Left it. The ceviche actually had a bad smell, the salmon was cold and the wine served in the plastic glass was 3 ounces. I told the waiter that the ceviche fish was bad and he just gave a blank stare. They didn't even take it off the bill. When I come to Cascade at the Biltmore, I am going first and foremost for ambience. I grew up nearby so regularly meet friends here for a bite that is close to everyone and the surroundings never fail to please. Cascade is right by the Biltmore pool and it feels decadent to eat in this exact location at a hotel cafe for a random lunch as a local Miamian. Seeing people dive into the pool only contributes to the feeling that you're on vacation. The cocktails are solid (and pretty generous quantity-wise). The food menu has all the staples you would expect of a standard "New American" menu, but nothing to me is a must-eat. For that, I go to Biltmore's Fontana. The fish tacos are a good choice though. I had the tomato avocado salad for lunch today--and the menu explicitly says the avocado part is in the dressing--but it felt like a very threadbare salad with just the tomatoes (which were not-yet-ripe). I've come other times and had better dishes, so I'd skip that one, unless you're adding a protein (and doing so doesn't come cheap). read more

Service was excellent both ways! The coffee lavazza was really great tasting and they gave me plenty of almond milk so I was a happy camper as I like to drink a lot of coffee! I had a special request that my heart healthy veggie omelet made to include the yolk great tasting and light! The fruit salad that came with it was abundant with berries my favorite! Again I was a happy camper! For lunch I had a shrimp cocktail the shrimp were chilled perfectly so it was really refreshing with a nice tasting cocktail sauce. I'm usually wary of fruit platters/salads since what often arrives is a bowl of unripe fruit. Not here! Every single bite of fruit was sweet, juicy perfection! And when we added a bit of the yogurt and the crunchy nuts, well, who knew a fruit platter could be moan-worthy! A little staycation at the Biltmore requires Cascade to assist you poolside with refreshments. A few cocktails later, I was just a swimming guppy looking for my server Juan. I got lucky with Juan because he's the most attentive of the bunch. He was even able to get my kid a pizza when pizza wasn't even on the menu. Fresh towels on point, of course. Every time I was thirsty all I had to do was look up and Juan was there. Juan brought me everything I wanted and was on point with the sauces. Swimming around the huge pool gets you in the mood for carbs and boy was it on point. Thy close at 5 so make sure you get your meal and drink on before they close shop. The sorry part was when I went to the bar and ordered (what I thought was) a simple drink and saw it come out to $26. A little bit extravagant to say the least for a tequila, grand marnier and lime juice at a bar which only filled my glass halfway. We went to the Biltmore Hotel planning to have lunch at one of the many restaurants they have available after a tennis match. When we walked in, we were right by the pool and saw Cascade. Their lunch menu is light and simple so we decided to eat there. The hostess sat us right at the pool. (Our table was literally a foot from the edge of the pool.) It was VERY nice. The ambiance was great. The food was really good. I had the lobster salad sandwich which was excellent and my tennis buddy had the lamb gyro which she loved as well. Our server was very nice and attentive, making sure our drinks were refilled. My only complaint was that being by the pool you had to deal with some rude kids (7-8 yrs) who decided it was okay to squeeze by our table a few times playing -(no one was there to stop them) - and then the one boy decided to jump in the pool right in front of me and splashed me! But other than that, it was a pleasant lunch! I would definitely go back. no beating the view and the intricate infrastructure of the entire building. read more

I just reviewed Fontana and their horrible service. By contrast, the service we received here was excellent. I would have given it 4-5 stars if the food had been better. My daughter ordered the pork bao buns. They were so stiff and hard they actually broke off. She returned them and ordered a salad. The tomatoes in the salad were gray and rotten looking. My chicken salad looked very pretty but it was lacking in flavor. The Bloody Marys were good. My husband liked his turkey club sandwich. The management team don't treat their customers well and don't treat their staff well. Servers are clueless and don't know the menu or what is and isn't an alcoholic beverage. I have been coming here for years but will not go back. Have tried communicating to management about the lack of understanding about how to run or manage a bar but they disregard all problems. It is perfect place to go and then head over to the pool and relax! I had the slider burgers that were a special item for May's burger month. The sliders each had different toppings that seemed very interesting. My mom and I both ended up getting them. They had things such as olive spread, sun dried tomato, artichoke ect.
