Highly recommend! Amazing food. You select your pasta type and type of sauce. Magic! Seriously. This place is pretty tiny so there is not a lot of seating. It's cozy though. They do have outdoor seating. A lovely Italian woman took our order at the counter and she was very helpful and kind. We ended up ordering take out because the wait was too long for us and it was raining so outdoor seating didn't seem like a great idea. Our food was still hot when we got back to our hotel. We also ordered the tiramisu and a chocolate cannoli. Yum! I couldn't eat as much dessert as I would have liked and yet glad we splurged to get it.

I ordered their food on doordash so didn't get a chance to visit them in-person. We got their - :: Build your own Alfredo sauce pasta with meatballs and mushroom. It was creamy but was not salted well. The meatballs were too hard and not easy to eat which was odd. :: Their spinach and ricotta lasagna was also very creamy but again, was not salted well. It was pretty average. :: Their porcini and cream pasta was the best! Had a good flavour. :: Garlic bread - was pretty disappointed with this, it did not have cheese or any flavour. It was pretty dry. Their portion sizes were very small and I don't think it was worth the money. Maybe if I dine-in there it might be better and more fresh.

    Amatriciana

Had a late lunch here and ordered at thr cashier two pastas: smoked salmon (with capers tomato, bread crumbs) pasta plate special, and the Amatriciana (red wine tomato sauce topped with "pork cheeks). The in house made pasta all contain eggs, and we get to select the cut of pasta or go with the recommendation. Also, we ordered garlic bread to soak up the sauce from our meals. The food could use some tweaking in the flavours. The salmon and capers pasta was too salty and detracted from fully appeciating this dish. Perhaps the capers just put it over the top? The tomato and wine sauce in the Amatriciana was pleasant. The crisped pork cheeks were more like pieces of bacon which gave the dish a smokey flavour, but the more burnt bits left a slight bitter taste. The garlic bread was a bit dense and dry. Didn't seem fresh. The restaurant interior is quite rustic, a little drafty, and a smaller venue with mainly café like tables for two with a pricier menu. Well, at least the service was friendly and attentive.

Came here for my brother's birthday. We love cooking and eating Italian food, and our standards were high, and Casereccio impressed us. The sauces, particularly the tomato-based ones, are fantastic. The amatriciana and the arrabiata were absolutely delicious, as was the porcini and cream. They do not skimp on the toppings, whether it's guanciale or porcini. Also ordered the meatballs, which were a great deal at $13, the spinach ravioli, and the bolognese lasagna. My only gripe was that the lasagna was overcooked for my liking and was bordering on mushy, but it's because the pasta is fresh and thus unlike the al dente dried pasta I'm more used to seeing in lasagna. The cannolis are rather large and taste great! The ricotta is good, the Italian pastry cream was a bit of a miss, but the chocolate is DIVINE. Imagine an ultra-thick hazelnutty ganache and that would be the filling. The only thing I ordered that I did not like at all was the pesto gnocchi. Not because the gnocchi was subpar (it was great), but because the sauce felt aggressively salty. However, when I asked the chef if that was normal, he without hestitation offered to fire me up another one with a different sauce. 10/10 service, I probably would just fade the pesto if you like your food a bit less salty. Keep in mind the portions are also small in general (all this food was for 3 people), so don't be shy to order a pasta per person along with an entree to share.

What a gem. We stopped by here on the way to a concert at the Hollywood theater. Friendly service. Great pasta. All for a reasonable price. Neighborhood is lucky to have them.

Have only gotten takeout from here but the pasta is incredible and al dente! I got the carbonara and even through transport it was still saucy. Will definitely return in store to try

Probably the best pasta I've had in my life. The fresh pasta was the perfect al dente and so delicious. The pesto tasted like the basil was crushed today. The perfect blend of fragrant from the basil and nutty from the pine nut, both not overpowering. The burrata was a wonderful to add on top. The bolognese was perfectly meaty and tomato-y without being too acidic. The rigatoni picked up the sauce in its pockets and each bite was so delicious. The lasagne was the perfect homey dish. It was hearty and full of flavor. Not too cheesy and not too meaty. Garlic bread was perfectly toasted and not too salty. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. The staff are friendly and excited to talk about their dishes. The indoor seating isn't air conditioned so you might be better off sitting outside during the summer.

We are so grateful to have found Casereccio Foods Coffee/Pasta Bar. We shared the mushrooms, garlic bread, Classic Bolognese Lasagna, Spinach and Ricotta Lasagna, Classic Cannoli cherry ice cream. The food literally melts in your mouth with delightful flavors. The amount of food is satisfying and it is best to be hungry before eating as you will be full after. I had a couple of glasses of pinot grigio that complimented my meal. We took home two croissants for breakfast and these were perfect!!!! The service is very attentive and respectful. Casereccio Foods Coffee/Pasta Bar is clean, fresh and feels welcoming. We are grateful for the best dining experience and we will return often.

Came to try a pastry in the morning. Lots of cornetti to choose from. I ordered an apricot cornetto and a London fog. The cornetto was very good, soft and buttery. The London fog wasn't bad but I would definitely recommend something else; it was made with Twinings tea which is just not the best tea and I wasn't really getting the vanilla. Maybe I should've known better than to not order coffee at an Italian cafe - that's what I'll get next time if I stop by again. Also I told them it was for here and they still gave me a disposable cup, so I thought maybe they didn't have mugs, but then other customers after me got mugs and glasses. Maybe just a mistake but still annoying.

    Carbonara with Bucatini

The BEST Italian pasta we've had in the city so far!! There are so many options of freshly made pasta to choose from. We ordered the Carbonara ($21) with bucatini and the Amatriciana ($21) with tagliatelle. The carbonara was authentic, no cream but so creamy! The guanciale or Italian cured pork cheek in the pastas had a really nice smokey taste with a slight crunch. So tasty. We also loved the gelato. We got two flavours, pistachio and caramelized figs ($8.25) . It's creamy, airy, rich, light, and full of flavour. All at the same time. Yum. The place felt homey, welcoming, and laid back. Great service. We will definitely be back!

Food 2/5 Service 1/5 Ambiance 1/5 Ok after walking by this place for years and reading all the reviews, which by the way were mind blowing good, my partner and I decided to give this place a try a few weeks ago. We were so excited and couldn't wait in anticipation BUT I have to be brutally honest here. We were SO DISAPPOINTED! Not only was the food bland, mushy pasta, waaaaay OVERPRICED for what it is, and portions SO tiny, but the service was awful. We were given a table outside which was fine but it was filthy and the we ordered ourselves by going into the restaurant where the cashier was. The pasta was so tiny that I swallowed the entire dish in 4 gulps... not joking. There was no service at all and the bill came to $62 plus tax and %18 tip for two bowls of small teeny weeny pasta. Comes with no free cheese or garlic bread! Seriously what a rip off! My partner waved down one of the hosts and asked for some hot sauce and no one helped us. I was so hungry afterwards I had to walk over to another restaurant to grab some Korean chicken. I left feeling scammed. Are the other reviews even legit? Am I the only one who thinks this place does not live up to its 5 star reviews? Never ever coming back!

    Porcini mushroom and pesto verde

There are some meals you will dream about and talk about forever. This was one of them for my husband and I! A family owned hidden little gem. Our server recommend the porcini mushroom pasta for me.. the flavor, texture..simply amazing. My husband had the pesto verde pasta, light and refreshing with amazing flavor. I wish we didn't live 10 hours away because we would be here regularly! Highly recommend!

This truly authentic Italian shop in Kitsilano on Vine Street sells fresh pastas (build your own), coffee, desserts, and gelatos. It's a small place with some outdoor seating. I had the bucatini in arrabbiata sauce, and it was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was incredibly fresh and heavenly. Definitely a spot to try if you're ever in Vancouver.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

Service was fabulous. Food was superb. The Tiramisu was simply to die for. Best we ever had.read more

We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer.
