Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. First off, came on a Sunday and oh my was there a line out the door. We were recommended this place by a local. And as I soon as I walked in I noticed the portions people were receiving, holy cow! Are we in Texas? I ordered a chai latte and it smelt so good. And tasted even better, best chai I've ever had. It tasted like a cinnamon fall festival in my mouth. Brought me right back to my childhood and all the falls I spent in New England. I also got the huevos rancheros and it was so good. I hardly made a dent in my food though. Stars of the dish were the mountain of perfectly pickled cabbage and the smoky maple BBQ sauce. - Chicken Apple Sausage: The apple gave it a hint of sweetness that made it more memorable. ??? What is the big fuss. I would have given a 4 if there weren't as many people lining up. We had two coffees, a basic breakfast and a charlie bowl. The basic breakfast was good and reasonble but I can't say the same for the charlie bowl. It is exactly as promised on the menu, you can't fault them for that - but it ends up being a humongous heavy breakfast slop bowl. I think its more suitable for 2 or 3 people than one. It's pretty noisy and you are seated very intimately in the row of 2 diners but at least service is fast and line moves fast. I wouldn't wait 30 mins for this. read more

There seems to always be a line out the door for this place, even on an early weekday but we were lucky they pulled us to a two seater after not too long a wait. Browsing the menu we watched the huge portions being delivered to nearby tables. We decided to share the Farmers Benedict. It was just right for the two of us (we did totally scrape our plates!) this one came with fried chicken, the sugar cured bacon, ham, cheddar and two perfectly poached eggs over a homemade biscuit and slathered with hollandaise sauce, with hash browns on the side. 1st review of 2026! I ordered the French toast with fresh strawberries added for 5 CAD. It was just okay, with the bread being too soggy, like it needed a little bit more time on the griddle. I did end up finishing the whole portion though! My boyfriend ordered the veggie bowl and added avocado. He was pretty satisfied by this meal. Wow! First of all: yes the wait is worth it. We waited in line for 50 minutes even though we arrived at 09:50. We were hesitant, but decided to stay given the good reviews. This place was very near our hotel, and since the Yelp ratings were so good, we decided to give it a shot. We thought the food was good, but not great. My wife had the Tater Bowl, while I had the Blackstone Benedict. My wife did have the coffee as well, and she really liked it. We got there around 9:30AM or so. They were kind when they were at the table, but just slow. The decor was kind of all over the place. Not to say it wasn't cute and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, it was just random. My husband nailed it when he said they must be going for items you'd see in an old garage. Now for the food. We had high expectations. If people are willing to wait in a line down the street, they must be amazing. I'd have to say I wasn't all that impressed. The food looks beautiful, but the taste factor just wasn't there. My husband got the salmon Benedict and he said the salmon overpowered the whole dish and really muted any other flavors. I got the French toast sticks - they were slightly disappointing. The sticks themselves were very large, so too big to jus pick up and eat without getting the all over, but they are served on a tiny plate with no room to take the out of the basket they come in and use a knife and fork to eat them. Besides that, they are deep fried and I could taste the oil, and while the outside was crispy the inside was super soggy. They were nice enough to hand out menus and umbrellas though because we were waiting outside in the rain! Very cute and quaint cafe near BC Place. We decided to stop by for a late lunch/brunch around 1pm and there was still a line waiting outside. Definitely not the best place to go with a large group. Tables of 2 were able to be seated quicker than 4+. Inside was holiday decorated for the season and they were playing Taylor Swift music since she was in town that weekend. The host, servers, and food runners were all very friendly. We ordered a holiday drink that I really enjoyed. It had Kahlua, orange liqueur and hot chocolate. Might be my new holiday drink. For food, we shared the Cold Smoked Salmon and Avocado Benny and the Banofee French Toast. Both were very good! The Banofee French Toast was a huge portion. Was glad to be sharing it. A+ visit. When I told her we would like to change seat due to cold near entrance, and I already feel sick, she would tell me "Then you should not be here/ outside" When we see table open and ask if could make the switch, she would ask, "oh I have your food, you want your food cold?" When switch the table, she would also threaten us "either you take this table, or you get nothing" and sounds not like she was trying to be helpful; it was just her way of treating her customers.
