    I am glad I can write something good about the service I received today by the new Service Manager…read moreAmanda and the New Service Tech Jaime at the 13200 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23602. I have been going to this Pep Boys location for over 14 years now and have had all 4 cars service by them. In that time there have been quite a number of turn overs of Service Techs and Managers. I would like you to know that they have figured a problem I have had with my car, that has been going on for more than 4 yrs. Amanda over heard me complaining to the front desk service person about this problem. She came outside and ask me to tell her what was going on. She listened very carefully and set me up with an appointment to address this on going problem. Today Sat. July 10, 2021 is when it was looked at, after all those years that someone else prior to her should have figured it out, the problem was revealed and explained to me to my satisfaction. I thought her customer care concern was what that place needed all along. I heard she hired the Tech Jaime and she has gotten a first rate Tech in her staff now. To conclude, I wrote a complaint about 6 years ago and I am glad I can write this very good review about them today. Arthur Lopez

    The area manager contacted my wife and I at the beginning of this week and said it would be done…read moreTuesday. It was not. When I called Tuesday evening I was told Friday. This is supposedly an 8 to 10 hour repair. The area manager did take more money off the bill as a goodwill gesture. A friend had stopped in there on Wednesday and said it appeared that the technician wasn't there that day. I have used Pep Boys for all if my vehicle maintenance and repairs since 2016. Never again. Due to this debacle they will be losing roughly 6k per year from us.

    Do not buy a vehicle from this dealership. I purchased a new vehicle on 3/14/26. On 6/13/26, after…read morepulling onto a highway and pressing the gas, the truck did not move and the check engine light came on. After about 15 seconds of trying to accelerate with traffic approaching, the vehicle finally moved forward. I contacted the dealership and was told I would need to drop off the vehicle for a diagnostic test. I was also told I could not wait on the vehicle, that I lived outside their service area for a ride home, and that I did not qualify for a loaner -- even though I was previously told a loaner would be provided when maintenance was needed. Throughout the week, communication has been extremely frustrating, being put on hold for extend periods and being told that someone would call us back. Five days after the incident, I was finally told the earliest diagnostic appointment would be 6/29/26 -- 11 days away. At that time, they said they could offer a "loaner" for a $100 refundable deposit plus $45 per day, which in my opinion is essentially a rental. Because I was advised not to drive the vehicle if the issue happens again, I have not used it since. I need a vehicle for a business trip next week, so I will now have to rent one on my own. I also scheduled a diagnostic appointment with a different Ford dealership (West Point Ford in West Point, VA). Based on my experience, I am extremely disappointed in the level of customer service I received from Southern Ford. I expected better support for a brand‑new vehicle, and I do not feel they stood behind their word or their product.
