Used to love Casey's but the quality and cleanliness has gone down lately. The pizza just isn't what it was.

I've been for dinner and brunch and every time and without fail the food is amazing, the staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, and you can't beat the ambience! I love the fact the indoor space has such a large bar with lots of seating. I'm excited for the warmer weather to partake in the beautiful outdoor space. Plenty of seating! This is such a great addition to Village Point!

The restaurant was very busy for a Friday night. I wasn't expecting it to be so large, but there is plenty of seating, including bar area and outdoor seating. The décor is modern and inviting, with lots of plants and beautiful gold accents. For drinks, we tried the Donatella, which is made with gin, grapefruit, honey, and lemon. We also had the Pomegranate Mule, which was light and refreshing. For my entrée, I ordered the Braised Short Rib Marsala, served with beech mushrooms, snap peas, heirloom carrots, and black truffle risotto. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan, which came with crushed tomato sauce, aged provolone, mozzarella, Parmesan, and rigatoni. Both meals were delicious and full of flavor. My short rib was tender, although a few pieces had a bit more fat than I would have preferred. The prices were on the higher side, but when the food quality is this good, it's hard to complain. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Pizza Quest -- Episode 3: Built with Love…read more The campaign continues. Next stop: Piezon's Pizzeria a neighborhood stronghold with a robust menu that offers plenty of choices without feeling overwhelming. For this session, I picked up: One slice of the Oh Mio Dio One slice of the Mahalo with jalapeños The standout of the encounter was the Oh Mio Dio. The combination of fiery chicken and cream cheese landed exactly where I like my pizza builds to be--bringing the perfect balance of heat and coolness in every bite. The Mahalo took a different path. Built with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and cream cheese, it already offers a unique take on a Hawaiian-style pizza. Adding jalapeños gave it just enough kick to complement the sweet and savory flavors without overwhelming them. I can see why it's my wife's favorite. The menu itself deserves credit. There's a lot to choose from, but it never feels complicated. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a first-time visitor, finding your next slice feels straightforward. What stuck with me most, though, was the atmosphere. The walls are filled with stories and adventures drawn by kids, while pizza trays signed by Husker fans cover the space with messages and memories. Everywhere you look, there's evidence that people care about this place and that this place cares about its community. Heart 18 (+4) From children's drawings to signed pizza trays, the entire restaurant feels built on memories, traditions, and community. Wisdom 16 (+3) A menu with plenty of variety that remains easy to navigate and approachable for any adventuring party. Dexterity 17 (+3) The Oh Mio Dio balances heat and coolness with precision, while the jalapeños on the Mahalo add just the right amount of extra movement to the build. The total came out to be about $61 which is about $20+ more than what I was expecting. I asked to clarify the price and received a polite apology and was told that these are old menus that haven't been updated in several years. I do not see prices listed anywhere else. I managed to stop the second pour of beer to save money. I was offered no receipt, nor did I ask for one as I left frustrated.. Beyond that, the pizza was fabulous: it had been years since we ate at Don Carmelo's. It's just as good as I remembered. The salad wasn't as good, however, supposedly $7.99 for the large (who knows how much it was). It was alright. My suggestion: Stick to the pizza. It's New York style, great crust, wonderful sauce. The hot stuff pizza had pepperoni, spicy chicken, and jalapeños which were perfectly hot and spicy.

That first impression matters. Our server Paul was a true professional. The best way I can describe him is that he represents what hospitality should be. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. His wine recommendation of a Barbera d'Asti with the braised beef completely surprised me in the best way. What really impressed me was Jen checking back in after seating us to help get our toddler's order in quickly. She read the situation perfectly while we were managing both kids. That awareness is what separates good service from great service. Highlights from dinner: Squid ink tagliarini with crab (fantastic depth of flavor) Braised beef (comforting and refined at the same time) Pizza that made our 2-year-old very happy Excellent wine guidance from Paul The service honestly reminded me of Michelin experiences I've had -- not because of formality, but because of how intentional and thoughtful everything felt. This was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Omaha.
