My girlfriend and I visited Michigan for the first time. We went there for the Real Madrid vs Man U game. After the game we were hungry and couldn't find a good place to eat . We look and look, around we found this Vegan place. We try to buy a burger and I had no luck. They only had Veggie burger for some one like me that's a no no. We keep on walking and find this this place we came in it was nice full of good vine the host was really nice we sat on the bar. We had little time before catching the bus back to DC. The lady behind the bar took my order, I liked her way she treat it us. When we got our food, the experiences got even better. We ordered two burgers with everything on it and they were the best burgers. This is a must go place if you want good food and good Poole. read more

I still love this place! But feel obligated to amend my prior review regarding the veggie burger lest anyone read it and be disappointed - they used to (I think?) make their own veggie patty, but switched over to the Morningstar Farms black bean burger. Still good, can still play with toppings and what not, you could also just make it at home. But still a homey wonderful place to be. read more

I'm not a usual five star giver, but it's easy to lay it out for you. #1 on my list: The place is entirely non-smoking. These people figured out the formula before the rest of the idiots did and figured that people would actually want a place to drink and eat and not breath in plumes of secondhand smoke. A place I can eat and drink and not smell like I swam through an ashtray! Yay!!! The food is pretty darn good. I've had pretty much everything on the menu and there's nothing I'd tell you to stay away from. My favorites are the BBQ catfish sandwich and the french dip. About the only thing I don't like about Casey's is the service. It can be questionable at time. I've never had anyone be rude to me, but it's hit or miss on the speed of the kitchen and the amount of attention you get from the waiter. If you don't have the patience for this, then I suggest you sit up at the bar where you can give the bartender the evil eye when you need another beer. read more

Great burgers, cold beer, and the onion rings are amazing. We ate at Casey's last night and got there a little after 5:30 on a Thursday night. There was no wait, but the place was really full - as soon as a table cleared out someone else would be seated. I ordered grilled onions and mushrooms on my burger (with blue cheese) and the next time I will probably only have the grilled onions and blue cheese as I don't think the mushrooms were fresh (they tasted like canned mushrooms). I like to order my burgers medium-well in bars and restaurants and that is exactly how it came to me. read more

Casey's Tavern is always a comfortable and cozy place to have a burger and a beer in town. The wooden and historical interior is great and it's location near the train station and a bit off the beaten bath is a plus. The food is great and I love how they serve the soup in a mug. read more

I love Caseys. So much is so good. I love the fish and chips, the turkey reuben and the cheeseburger. The fries are always perfect for a little added salt and ketchup to dip. Hubby loves their french dip and almost always orders it. He says the beef is lean and the horseradish just the right amount for a perfect sandwich. We love the beers on hand, our current favorite is the Saugatuck ESB. We go often enough the staff recognizes us. We love to go on a weekend afternoon and watch the Tigers or Lions play while eating a meal. Casey's is the best. Oh, just as an fyi, my hubby does not like the mac and cheese. Casey's Tavern is great. The location off campus makes finding a parking spot very easy. The atmosphere is nostalgic and relaxed. The restaurant is relatively small, but I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes even on a busy day...they work pretty efficiently. The asian chopped chicken salad is literally to die for. One of my favorite salads for sure. Great burgers as well. Beer selection was good and all are competitively priced. Every time that I have entered the restaurant I have gotten ID'd even if I wasn't planning on drinking...so if you are under 21, you may have to find a time earlier in the evening when they are not checking IDs. read more

For over twenty years, this has consistently been one of my favorite restaurants. Maybe it's the UofM paraphernalia on the walls or the nice selection of sandwich condiments at your table, either way this place has style. It's a great place to grab a beer and brat while watching the Wolverines on TV. I loooove the "dip" sandwich! Steak tips with cheddar cheese and horseradish on an onion roll.....drool. Best bar in Ann Arbor. Great staff - fun people. You go in for a drink, you go back because you're genuinely friends with everyone in the bar. Awesome food - the daily specials on the chalkboard wall are made with love and care. Great sauces on the food. The soups are great. And there's nothing like fish n' chips with a Bass ale. I've been here three times and have found the food to be mediocre at best - seafood in particular seems problematic. Both the salmon sandwich and the catfish sandwich tasted way off. Veggie burger was so so, and veggie chili was cloyingly ketchup-y. Service and environment are nice at least. read more

Best place for homemade bar food in Ann Arbor! The buffalo shrimp were delicious! The onion rings were the best I have had in a long time (I also don't normally go for the onion rings at restaurants). Each person at the table ordered a burger and all of us loved every single bite. The pub atmosphere inside is a nice change from other nearby pubs. Our server was also a hoot. This is at the top of the list of places to take my out-of-town friends for a good night out! The fact that this bar is SMOKE free in Michigan is a dream in itself! The service is great and the food is simple, yet good. My first night in town, I went there and the bartender said. 'I don't recognize you...' and I let him know I was new to which he said, 'Well then, new neighbor I'll get you a beer.' And that is just one example of how great it is there. This place has that old school, real bar atmosphere that is just a comfortable place to hang out. The food is good-love the club and the Southwestern Steak Caesar is just amazing. If they are busy, they won't seat you until everyone is there, which is understandable since it is pretty small. The service ranges from great to snarky, but the food is usually pretty quick no matter what. I would suggest getting a table if you are going to eat. I have had some pretty inattentive service at the bar which is very surprising considering it is usually a place you can sit in any restaurant to get taken care of well. read more

The older guy at the door is always extremely rude. Went to Casey's 3 years ago and he was rude, but I figured I'd try again. Same rude behavior and subpar service. I wasn't allowed in the door at 5pm unless I showed my ID. When I responded to him that I wasn't drinking, he copped a crappy attitude and literally would not let us in. Younger people that followed me weren't questioned and were ID'ed at their table. I ONLY went in because it was close proximity to where we had to be later that evening. I have thoroughly enjoyed suggesting to other people not to go there, including today with my entire softball team - one person suggested it and everyone was okay with it, but I stepped in and took us all somewhere else. Moved into Kerrytown this year and this place has been dangerous. I love to build my own burger with chili and olives. The atmosphere is awesome and love going there for dinner and a beer. Maybe I will try something other than the burger eventually, but its too good to resist. read more

Casey's is such a comforting place to visit. There's lots of U of M memorabilia for the sports fans, but I especially enjoy the dark wood bar and tables, and the tall lofted ceiling in the comforting old brick building. We usually don't stray from the burgers on the menu, because they're just phenomenal. Mine has never come to me cold, or overcooked, and I've ordered plenty over the years. I appreciate that Casey's lets you pick from a variety of burger fixings, and that they have a veggie and turkey burger option for friends and family members that don't eat beef. I recommend Swiss, grilled mushroom, and lettuce, tomato, onion. There are a variety of sauces to experiment with on the tables as well. The fries are just better here. I rarely order fries with my burger, but Casey's fries are always perfect. The one time out of ten that I don't order a burger at Casey's, I've been perfectly satisfied. A little off the beaten path (a 5 minute walk from Kerrytown), Casey's is a great place to grab a drink and some food without running into the student crowd at other bars in downtown Ann Arbor. A plethora of tv screens, friendly staff, and a rotating selection of Michigan beers on tap would be enough to attract my attention. But the true treasure at Casey's is the biggest, juiciest, and most delicious cheeseburger I've had in Ann Arbor. I would put Casey's burger up against any of the more famous venues around town. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. Show up before 7 on a Friday or Saturday if you want a cozy booth. And trust me, you definitely do. read more

Great food and great service. This place is always busy and it's easy to understand why. While they are known for great burgers, it's easy to see that Casey's takes pride in all their food offerings. Our waiter was friendly and upbeat and made several dinner suggestions, which I really liked. I had a wonderful potato clam chowder and split a Casey's Favorite (pastrami & smoked turkey with swiss, cole slaw & russian dressing, grilled on rye) with my dining companion. Delicious!
