Chicken tenders were barely touched with breading, may aswell be eating it grilled. Ranch has too much going on with flavoring its way too sweet or something. My drink was all juice no liquor, waited 20 minutes for the bill and had to GET UP to do so, waited another 10 minutes for them to take my card and had to get up to pay again, then was given a broken pen, i dont want to call them out by name but i almost feel like i was treated poorly on purpose Update: i was reluctantly taken here again and i have to ask why the cooks look like they climbed out of a dumpster? Didnt see gloves and just because you have a hat on doesnt mean you dont need a net. read more

Start off by saying super friendly service, cool, local, friendly, small town pub. I came in for the burger that was recommended, it was juicy and flavorful. On Sunday's they have Bloody Mary bar with all the fixings excellent. The table behind me ordered the Rib-eye and my mouth watered. Good place highly recommend. What makes this place amazing. It's your basic country hole in the wall watering hall with quite a amusing cast of customers. They serve blue gill which is amazing. They make an amazing salad. The smelt was so delicious! I ordered the dinner plate and it was enough for three people. A nice lunch stop while riding my bike on the Lakeland Trail from Pinckney. Waitress was friendly and got to catch the Michigan football game too. Lots of tvs for game days. Will be back! read more

What a great little spot for an afternoon lunch. We had our granddaughter and needed lunch and a hardware store stop in town, near the campgrounds. This was it! They didn't have milk but the waitress was happy to allow me to buy a pint from across the street for the little one. I ordered the fried shrimp with tater tots. It was a huge plate of fried food but it was hot and fresh. I was expecting butterflied shrimp but these were whole, beer battered with tails. No complaints, as it was very good. The tots were perfectly cooked too. I started with a cup of the ham and bean soup and wondered why I didn't just make a meal out of a bowl of it. It was so good. Little Bit had their white cheddar mac n cheese. She is super picky but was very happy with the dish and one of grandpa's chicken tenders. The chicken tenders plate was also huge. All three of us could have shared it. Hand breaded tenders with fries and slaw. They had the game on, which was a bonus. The waitress was sweet and attentive. The place is small and old but it doesn't get better than this for rural Michigan small town lunch spot. read more

The pics speak for themselves. Soggy under cooked cod not much bigger than a fish stick. Deli meat dried out on a flat grill slapped into into a bun literally and listed as French Dip. I have been going to this pub for years and I will tell you that you cannot beat the food, however, my last visit there with my husband and son that was home from the military was disheartening. Our waitress was so rude that we left. She yelled at us for sitting at a table after she gave our table to another couple (yes we signed in and are fAmiliar with the way it works). We have never had this issue here before and I was not going to say anything but another couple (friends of ours) just had a similar experience with the same waitress. Honestly if you hate your job look elsewhere. You are hurting their business. It will be a long time before any of us return nor any of our friends. Too bad for her. Solid bar food, but definitely a bar. Fish is great but I also love the frog legs. You get a large portion, cooked to perfection, lightly breaded with potato and slaw. They serve it with a garlic butter sauce which is good but I eat them just as they are served. My wife really likes the chicken quesadilla, which is only on Monday. They cooked that fresh in house, no some pre-made from Sysco. I eat the left overs for lunch the next day and it is really good! read more

Might want to have designated Handicapped parking out front at dinner time. I currently walk with a walker and can't imagine huffing it from the side public parking. I understand the parallel parking works best for the Hardware store next door, but as a passer through it would have been nice to have a beer and try your food before heading back on the road again. Recently did some perch dinner carryouts while visiting the bar. Had a drink while waiting, service was good. Bartender stated that dinner came with potato,roll and coleslaw. I've had this dinner in the past and it can be a crapshoot getting all of the fixins, fish has always been excellent tho. Not this time tho, fish overdone with no coleslaw, roll or tartar sauce for two dinners. A disappointing 50 dollars spent including tip. Not the Country Pub experience of past years. read more

Recently moved to the area and tried them out after COVID re-opening, We've been there a few times and everything we have had has been very good. Like the variety of the menu and pricing is reasonable. Thus far service has been good. Planning to try a steak next visit....hear they're really good. The food is pretty much always super good! I love their fish fry. It's not the standard thick beer batter, and it's delicious! Also, Mexican night is spot on. And the house battered chicken tenders are bommmmmb! Sometimes the service is slow or meh, there is typically only one server and they get busy. OMG !! I died & went to seafood heaven. This place is small but the menu is big. They have cod, perch, smelt & frog-legs. Naturally, burgers, chicken & steak are on their menu also. Happened to see this place while riding the Harley on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Tons of cycles parked all over this small crossroad intersection as this was the Blessing of the Cycles in Hell weekend. The bar is small but uses every sq. inch to its advantage. The kitchen area is the smallest I've ever seen yet the food is very good. They had a Bloody Mary setup by the front door which was loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, pickles, olives, etc to add to your Mary. I had the frog-legs & they were piled high on the plate & came with slaw. You can also get fries if you want but I just wanted to sink my teeth into the legs. The legs were large, lightly battered & succulent & the slaw was tasty, cold & crispy. Yummy !! Hubby, as usual, ordered the usual burger which he stated was done to perfection. We found out that this pub orders their ground round from Marv's Meats in Brighton, Mi. Marv's has the best meat this side of Telegraph if not all of Michigan.
