Casey's is one of the community pillars of winder. It's been here for as long as I can remember. They genuinely have a heart to love on the community as best as they can through their business. The owner is nice and welcoming. The ambiance is old school and homey. It's a must staple in winder. The food is home cook prepped and pretty good for the price. Can't beat it! If you're expecting an upscale burger or the best burger your taste buds have ever had, this ain't it pal. This is just a good hometown burger joint that's happy to be here and we are happy to have.

This restaurant is located in downtown Winder. We came around 1 PM and could not find parking in front of the store or the parking lot next to the restaurant. We circled around for a bit until a car left and we parallel parked. This is truly a hole in the wall restaurant. Very old building, the sign in the front is missing, and they did not accept cards of any kind. They do accept cash, venmo, apple pay or cashapp. They have specialty burgers, but with no description of what exactly goes the burger. I ordered the Hells Burger, not knowing was go on it. Looking back, I wish I would have asked the cashier what all came on the burger. The cashier looked to be a teenager. She wasn't friendly or rude. She lacked basic customer service and didn't smile. Our food came out fast and we took it to go. By the time we go home, the fries were so soggy. The burger was "meh." Not impressed at all. People rave that this place has the best burgers in town, but honestly my burger at Wendy's the other day had more flavor than the Hells Burger. It's honestly a glorified greasy burger. This place wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't come out of my way to dine in again.

Ive tried it all. Chili cheeseburger...yummmm Chili cheese fries...Yum. Philly...delicious Fresh cut fries just as they are...amazing My first experience here, I came with a debit card not knowing they only took cash or checks. They exploded the southern charm on me and told me to catch them next time as they offered me a delicious lemonade. I brought them cash right back, but the genuine southern hospitality is what so many places lack. This place is a true Winder gem.

We sat down to a "Cajun night" menu to which I inquired if that's like a weekly thing or what and was explained that they will occasionally do various themes and recently had done Italian. They had Cajun music playing and a full Cajun menu, it felt like we were in Louisiana which I am very familiar with, I have roots there. I think having themed nights is a very clever way to bring a variety of fine dining options to a small town that doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Fully support! Love the concept! Having had frog legs before I didn't feel the need to explore again so didn't choose those. I instead opted for some more cozy comforts such as the Crawfish étouffée and Duck Andouille Gumbo. Both were delicious, my only gripe would be the presentation was quite lacking. Traditionally, for either of those dishes, the rice is served from a cup as a topper, not the gumbo or étouffée spooned atop the rice. But the flavor hit it out of the park. Hubby ordered the Blackened Redfish and this is where the chef's talents shine. This was the winning dish of the evening. Hubby hates okra, I love it, and I'd never had it grilled before though and I'll be using that cooking technique in the future, especially since hubby actually likes okra finally. But I don't want to focus on okra for a fish dish. The blackened redfish was so well seasoned and perfectly flaky, the pinto beans had great flavor as well. We finished our meal out with the beignets and coffees (hubby espresso and me a latte) which paired perfectly with the beignets. We ate them politely with the fork and knife provided though if you ain't covered in powdered sugar or accidentally proofing powdered sugar across the table when you take a bite are you even doing it right? ;) but they were delicious, everything was. Again the only suggestion I have is to consider presentation. The dishes looked a bit bland for the amount of flavor they packed. A slice of that grilled okra on top of my Gumbo or just anything simple would've gone a long way. Overall I'll give 5 stars. I have no complaints. The restaurant's vibe and decor are great, service was great, food was delicious. We had a great night!

Top 10 Meal of Our Lives!…read more We just had dinner at The Bistro on Broad in Winder, and it absolutely blew us away. We're no strangers to good food--we're certified foodies--and this meal easily cracked the top 10 meals of our lives. We started with the pimento cheese and gnocchi to share, and both were downright insane in the best way. Creamy, rich, balanced--like Southern comfort and fine dining had a baby. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp & grits and the Campanella with beef ragout... and then proceeded to eat off each other's plates all night because we genuinely couldn't decide which one we liked better. The shrimp & grits were smoky, buttery perfection, and the ragout was slow-cooked, soul-warming magic. Dessert? Blueberry cobbler and chocolate bread pudding. We were already full, but we pushed through like champions. Both were ridiculously good--the kind of good that makes you consider licking the plate. And major shoutout to Bree, our server--she was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and spot-on with every recommendation. She made the experience even better. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was top notch. Winder is lucky to have this gem. If you haven't been yet--go. And bring stretchy pants.

Not only did it feel like we stepped into a mini vacation to Florida with the lovely decor but rarely do servers make dining fun anymore where they are enjoying it as much as you are. I didn't realize how much I missed that until today. Thanks Bob and the other who occasionally chimed in and thanks for the recommendations! I'll be back for that Bacon Shrimp Po Boy! I wasn't even looking at that until you suggested it and woooo weee was it good! Now for the food run-down for our party of 4. We got the CAJUN CREAM Oysters (baked with cajun cream & topped with tomatoes and jalapeños) and I had a cup of crab and lobster bisque. Both very tasty! As noted before, I got the BACON SHRIMP PO'BOY (topped with applewood bacon, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion & spicy remoulade served on cuban bread) I think this is my new fav sandwich. Two people in our party ordered the REDFISH ROCKEFELLER (baked red fish topped with creamed spinach and drizzled with parmesan cream sauce served with garlic parsley potatoes). Hubby said he enjoyed his until he tried my sandwich and then wished he ordered mine. He is however now enjoying the other half of my sandwich for dinner ;) Oh! And per Bob's suggestion, my side was the potato salad...slaps. The other person in our party who ordered the Red fish said "I really enjoyed the creamed spinach sauce over the redfish..it added a rich, flavorful touch to the dish. The garlic parsley potatoes were delicious and complemented the meal perfectly." Finally our other friend ordered the STUFFED GROUPER (grilled filet stuffed with crab cake and smothered in shrimp & lobster bisque) which we all tried. I had to ask hubby what the dish was called again and (while stuffing his face with the rest of my sandwich) replied "and it was really good!" Yes it was. If I had any recommendations I'd say add a touch of salt to the non-Cajun dishes, maybe a lil more garlic or onion powder but overall we really enjoyed all of our dishes and again the overall experience made it! It wasn't any one thing... I take that back, it was the servers, who loved the food and got so excited talking about it, that couldn't decide which was their favorites, and it really showed that they enjoyed being there. We'll be back for sure! Thanks for the reminder of how fun dining out can be!
