Craving seafood living north of Winder I finally found this place and decided to go try it out…read more Nice, busy place, clean have everything from lobster rolls to the fish and chips, which is what we came here for. I got a four piece cod and this is the best fish I've had when I'm looking for a true British fish and chips. The potato chips were a little overcooked, but still great, french fries I brought home and just air fry them and brought them back to life so they were very good as well. I think the only odd thing not bad, but odd was the fried green tomatoes, which were almost like a pancake batter, which gave it a very sweet taste, which I was not expecting. I think I'm more of a savory fried green tomato, crunchy guy, but these had pickled onions, seemed to be cooked with love just didn't eat my taste buds but while presented. Ordered the crabcake sandwich in the jury is still out. Perhaps I was having fried food overload, but it didn't hit as well until I pulled it off. The patty added a little bit of old bay seasoning and this crab cake was quite tasty. How you adjust your meals is all up to you, but since I usually get things to go and bring them home, if there's something I want more I just add it no complaints because I thought this was a good value and great service. All in all, this was a very good place, oysters are priced insanely these days cause coming from South Georgia where I used to hit the beach for $.10 apiece for oysters. It's really hard to dive in the raw oysters which I love but not for two dollars apiece. I'm sure they're good but I'm gonna skip out and stick with sushi for my raw fish right now, and use this place for my fish and chips for sure! Clean, great service, outdoor seating, highly recommend.!!!!

Our first visit here and not very impressed. When we arrived…read morethe parking lot was packed so I was very excited that I was going to get a great meal. My first impression was not great as we waited 10 minutes just to put our name on the list for a table. The staff member who had "the list" was also taking phone orders, getting to-go meals from the back, and taking people's payments. My husband was not happy that the phone orders took priority over the people in the restaurant. We watched people leave and watched the tables get cleared. We and another couple wondered why we were not being seated as there were tables available. The lady seating customers was busy checking out several parties and looking for to-go orders. Finally, after waiting 30 minutes (apparently we got there at the busiest time) we were seated. We ordered and our food came out pretty quickly. We both got the Wednesday special of fried chicken. I looked at mine and thought it looked overcooked, then I looked at my husband's and his was BURNT. I am very surprised they plated and sent out a piece of chicken that looked like his did. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of his. My corn muffin was hard but I was able to eat part of it. We waited for our ticket to go to the register to pay, but it never came. Finally, we just went to the register to pay. The waitress never came back to check if we needed refills (this is important to my husband as he always needs refills on his water). Definitely could have gotten a better fried chicken meal for a lesser price elsewhere. Will not go back.

A great addition to our growing town of Bethlehem…read more During our last minute lunch visit we ordered the 5 piece chefs choice nigiri, shrimp and steak lunch hibachi, a bowl of tonkatsu ramen, as well as a set of 3 rolls to go. Our lunch meals, and to go rolls, came with soup and salads. Salad comes with a mild ginger dressing. Soups included miso and clear/onion. Hibachi was very fresh. No overcooked vegetables or rubbered protein. Ramen was savory and noodle portion was generous. I ended up taking my leftover to go to check the quality of the noodles and they did NOT get mushy. Overall the food was excellent considering we are in Bethlehem, the service was warm and attentive, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the nigiri.

We sat down to a "Cajun night" menu to which I inquired if that's like a weekly thing or what and was explained that they will occasionally do various themes and recently had done Italian. They had Cajun music playing and a full Cajun menu, it felt like we were in Louisiana which I am very familiar with, I have roots there. I think having themed nights is a very clever way to bring a variety of fine dining options to a small town that doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Fully support! Love the concept! Having had frog legs before I didn't feel the need to explore again so didn't choose those. I instead opted for some more cozy comforts such as the Crawfish étouffée and Duck Andouille Gumbo. Both were delicious, my only gripe would be the presentation was quite lacking. Traditionally, for either of those dishes, the rice is served from a cup as a topper, not the gumbo or étouffée spooned atop the rice. But the flavor hit it out of the park. Hubby ordered the Blackened Redfish and this is where the chef's talents shine. This was the winning dish of the evening. Hubby hates okra, I love it, and I'd never had it grilled before though and I'll be using that cooking technique in the future, especially since hubby actually likes okra finally. But I don't want to focus on okra for a fish dish. The blackened redfish was so well seasoned and perfectly flaky, the pinto beans had great flavor as well. We finished our meal out with the beignets and coffees (hubby espresso and me a latte) which paired perfectly with the beignets. We ate them politely with the fork and knife provided though if you ain't covered in powdered sugar or accidentally proofing powdered sugar across the table when you take a bite are you even doing it right? ;) but they were delicious, everything was. Again the only suggestion I have is to consider presentation. The dishes looked a bit bland for the amount of flavor they packed. A slice of that grilled okra on top of my Gumbo or just anything simple would've gone a long way. Overall I'll give 5 stars. I have no complaints. The restaurant's vibe and decor are great, service was great, food was delicious. We had a great night!

Top 10 Meal of Our Lives!…read more We just had dinner at The Bistro on Broad in Winder, and it absolutely blew us away. We're no strangers to good food--we're certified foodies--and this meal easily cracked the top 10 meals of our lives. We started with the pimento cheese and gnocchi to share, and both were downright insane in the best way. Creamy, rich, balanced--like Southern comfort and fine dining had a baby. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp & grits and the Campanella with beef ragout... and then proceeded to eat off each other's plates all night because we genuinely couldn't decide which one we liked better. The shrimp & grits were smoky, buttery perfection, and the ragout was slow-cooked, soul-warming magic. Dessert? Blueberry cobbler and chocolate bread pudding. We were already full, but we pushed through like champions. Both were ridiculously good--the kind of good that makes you consider licking the plate. And major shoutout to Bree, our server--she was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and spot-on with every recommendation. She made the experience even better. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was top notch. Winder is lucky to have this gem. If you haven't been yet--go. And bring stretchy pants.
