I discovered, The Lounge because I arrived super early for a wine tasting at another business in the plaza. My friend and I were immediately won over, when we saw the bar dog. Her name is, Lucy. I liked that the front window is tinted so you cannot see in, but once inside you can clearly see the outside. If you like to play slots while you sip your inexpensive cocktail, The Lounge has about 4 or 6 machines for you to play. If you do, good luck. Best of all, the drinks are super affordable aka "cheap". The bartender was friendly to us being newcomers. Seeing the rest of the patrons at the bar and every stool was full, you could tell they were regulars at this neighborhood watering hole. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd definitely stop by for a cocktail.

I was able to get a seat at the bar and immediately starting reading the menu of their signature cocktails. I went with, Sign Painter. It was served in a fluted glass and was made with rye whiskey. I'm a big fan of rye and I found this drink very refreshing. I am a cocktail snob, I enjoy a well made cocktail. Being a snob, I want a mixologist that prepares a masterful cocktail. Enjoying my cocktail and watching the gentleman working behind the bar, I can honestly say, he is a masterful bartender. This visit, I did not order any food items. While they had a plethora of spirits, sadly this wasn't one of them. They had other flavored vodkas but I opted to get a simple Cosmo while my friend got a makers and coke. The Cosmo was just what I needed and might I add, well made!After we got our drinks, we did a quick walk through of the other side called The Oddities (coming soon), as well as the upstairs that overlooks the entire place. The stairs are steep, so it would behoove you to hold on to the railing. While I love trying new places, I was a bit apprehensive because I thought I'd stick out like a sore thumb. I don't envy their job of trying to get so many people served in such a short period of time before the show starts. That said, I wonder if management might consider things to make the job more efficient. Our waiter had to have 2 large gadgets (think iPad and satellite phone size) in order to check us out. Also he had tables spread across the entire place rather than a grouping. I appreciated the new menu items and hopefully next time I will try the beet dish.
