I came here for karaoke on a Friday night with a friend for the first time since 2010. The venue has had a lot of upgrades since then. There was suprisingly ample street parking right outside the venue. When you come in, it's low lighting and intimate. The bar staff are very friendly. I will say my first drink was a bit too iced out for me so it was really hard to even taste or enjoy the alcoholic beverage that lied beneath the iceberg that the Titanic hit. It was a lavender mint julep sort of drink that would probably gain more traction as a martini to be honest. All the drinks I ordered after that was their house made peach infused vodka with soda. The flavoring of the vodka was delightful and it was a much better cocktail. They also serve pizza. I had a buffalo chicken pizza and it's a bit much for my gut! Cheers!

The food was gas station frozen food. Very overpriced but appreciated at 2 am. Barron was our bartender and whipped up the best pot or Marsala chai. So flavorful and Barron was amazing. The vibe is chill with palo santo softly burning it was such a calm chill vibe.

This place was a dive. I went there because there was a burlesque show (pre-COVID) and the burlesque show was great, but the place is not clean and really makes you feel dirty when you leave. I guess they have their fans but I don't see how this place stays open.

The Crack Fox! It can be easy to overlook this interesting spot when you're thinking of places downtown. They have dj nights, karaoke nights, and my personal favorite drag. They regulars seem to be whimsical, into metal, and incredible kind. It's a very unassuming bar where you can get great drinks at a reasonable price. They keep the dive-y spirit alive with their Dogtown pizza option for food. They adamantly don't sell AB products, but that's okay with me because they have Miller Lite, a personal fave. Their full bar and local craft beer selection would keep anyone happy. Come for the convenience when you're downtown, stay for the quirky uniqueness!

Bottom Line: Goth/Black Leather/Black Hair Feel, Super Friendly Lady Bartender, Memorable Overview: After stopping in at the Thaxton Speakeasy, my friend and I stopped in at the Crack Fox. My first time. Tonight, they had DJ Chrome along with some cat of nine tales(?) beatings on these 'X'-style crucifixes (is that the correct plural usage?). Drinks: They had a beer that was decent. That's all I got and all I recall of their selection. Atmosphere: I think most of the goth contingent of STL was in the house. (Yes, I'm a white guy.) Quite the scene and quite hospitable. I felt welcome hanging out in my 'Lion's Choice' retro T-Shirt and shorts. Music: As I mentioned, they had DJ Chrome spinning. I think KMFDM, Rammstein, etc. are some of the more accessible bands he played. Honestly, I don't recall exactly, but I think the aforementioned bands should give you a clue what they play here.

Oh, that would be a bummer. Let's hope this is an evergreen cocktail. It is so well-balanced, yummy, and prettily presented. I plan to return to this bar often. The pistachio gelato was good, but a little pricey. I may like the gelato better if I try a sorbetto flavor.

The bouncer was super nice and he actually walked me all the way in. our waitress was also very nice and attentive. It was not busy when we were there and we had reservations for a group of six, which is apparently the most you can have on a reservation. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday and everyone got a variety of drinks from the cocktail menu. I got their version of the whiskey sour with the cherry froth on top and it was so good. The waitress said it is the most popular and I can see why I really enjoyed it and would've ordered more if it wasn't so expensive for one drink the table, got a variety of the small bites such as the cheese and the Barada. We showed up without a reservation, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend. We were initially told the wait would probably be around an hour and a half, so reservations are definitely a good idea. Somehow, we got super lucky and received a text that they were ready for us only about 10 or 15 minutes later. We ended up sitting at the bar, which honestly made the experience even better. If you enjoy watching bartenders work their magic, I highly recommend sitting there if you get the chance. The cocktails here are unlike anything we've had before, and it was so much fun watching all the different drinks being made and seeing the creativity that goes into each one. Our bartender, John, was amazing. He was incredibly personable, answered all of our questions, and was genuinely enjoyable to talk to throughout the evening. Between the two of us, we tried four cocktails. I started with the Linea Uno and asked John if he could make it less bitter after the woman sitting next to me mentioned that was an option. It was delicious, although I apparently didn't pay enough attention to the menu when ordering because it was tequila-based, and tequila normally isn't my first choice. The Trade Winds was one of the coolest drinks of the night, made with clarified rum, apricot, and coconut and topped with mango air. The mango air literally looked like bubbles but smelled like mango. Such a unique presentation, and the drink itself was really enjoyable. My husband tried the New York Whiskey Sour, made with clarified whiskey, yuzu, tart cherry, and black lime cordial with a red wine foam. Again, the presentation was beautiful, and it tasted just as good as it looked. My personal favorite was Ankra's Passion Fruit Martini, made with vodka, vanilla, passion fruit, lime, and bubbles. It came with a small glass of champagne on the side, which was a really nice touch. John mentioned that I could drink the champagne separately or add it to the martini as I went. I ended up pouring some into the cocktail, and for me, it balanced out the sweetness of the passion fruit perfectly. The entire speakeasy experience was just fun, from trying to find the entrance to making our way inside and finally settling in at the bar. We took plenty of pictures and videos along the way, but I'm intentionally not posting most of them because I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone visiting for the first time. I will share a picture of the red light you need to look for at The Foundry since we initially had a little trouble figuring out where to go, along with some photos of our drinks. The rest of the journey inside is something I think you should experience for yourself. Creative cocktails, beautiful presentations, a genuinely fun atmosphere, and fantastic service from John made this an easy five-star experience for us. If you're visiting The Foundry and enjoy unique cocktails and hidden speakeasies, None of the Above is absolutely worth finding. Just learn from us and make a reservation. We got very lucky!
