If you've never been to Gaylord Opryland, it's worth seeing at least once. This place is absolutely…read moreenormous. It's part resort, part convention center, part indoor botanical garden, and part entertainment destination. You could easily spend hours just wandering through the property. The highlight for me was the massive glass conservatories. They're filled with waterfalls, tropical plants, winding paths, and plenty of quiet spots to sit and take it all in. It's beautiful and unlike any other hotel I've visited. The property is a little dated in places, and I noticed a lingering smoke smell in some areas, which surprised me for a Marriott property. Because it's so large, be prepared to do a lot of walking. Fortunately, there are plenty of signs to help you find your way. Valet parking is available, and there are numerous restaurants and shops throughout the resort. Even if you're not staying overnight, I'd recommend stopping by to explore the atriums, grab a meal, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. It's one of those places that's hard to appreciate until you see it in person. Life is too short not to travel. Get out there, explore someplace new, and make some memories.

We needed to valet, check-in and assistance getting to our rooms. Most of us had at least THREE pieces of luggage! The resort is mammoth in size and it takes a few days to learn your way around even with a map. There's plenty of food options and many spaces to relax and enjoy the lovely waterfalls and plants. Some rooms have a balcony that faces the Atrium which added to the allure. Housekeeping staff were nice and ensured the rooms were thoroughly cleaned and that we had enough water. I enjoyed the boat ride and once I got my bearings, I was able to navigate the resort with ease. We had some storms that resulted in a power outage. That was interesting but everything was restored relatively quickly. I enjoyed the fireworks on Saturday night. I needed bell service on Sunday and Kyle was EXCEPTIONAL! He swiftly gathered my things and made sure I got to the shuttle bus which was ABOVE and BEYOND! There were so many of us that team had to call in out of town reinforcement. Only downside my room had NO VIEW. It was in the Magnolia section and the best part was its proximity to the convention center. Hopefully next time I can get a room with a balcony! Overall I enjoyed my six night stay and look forward to returning when I am on vacation!

I thought I'd Have stayed in every great hotel in Nashville…read more. The moment I got dropped off was checked in by the wonderful graceful Laurie at the front desk . You feel as if you're steeping into a very cool place as soon as you walk in the door ! Lobby was full of very cool families. .. cowboys and cowgirls ..very classy looking bar ! The room was beautiful and more importantly very quiet . We are a few blocks from Broadway and you're in paradise ! The next morning had a great breakfast .. service food and a wonderful waitress ! Great ambience and treated my friend with Jerry with great care !! Back at hotel And had a wonderful time at the bar ! Met some interesting folk from out of town ! Bravo to Omni and it's great staff

I was charged extra for the strawberries and champagne when I had already paid for it by purchasing the "With Love" package to begin with. I was charged an additional 56$ for in room dining that I never even purchased at all. I also didn't receive my $50 credit that the "With Love" package is supposed to come with. I brought these issues to the staff's attention upon checkout when I received my bill and saw so many things wrong with it. The person who answered the phone (night auditor) was leaving around 7am and told me he couldn't help me and that I needed to call back later to speak with a manager. He did not take notes or pass my issue along to anyone, so when I called back later, no one was aware of what happened. To make matters worse, it took a manager 1.5 hours to resolve the issue after my initial phone call at 7am. I called the front desk 3 times and after 1.5 hours with no call back or resolution, I had to go down there myself and demand to speak to a manager. This was my first wedding anniversary with my husband and we will never forget it because of how bad the service was. Even with the additional charges being removed and the manager refunding us about $100 in bar charges, it wasn't enough to make the situation better. We should have been refunded for the entire "With Love" package and charged a standard room rate for our entire stay since the entire "With Love" package was not delivered as promised on the Omni website. The manager tried to help us and did what she thought made sense (removing the charges and comping some bar drinks from our tab), but that doesn't make up for ruining our first wedding anniversary. I NEVER should have had to follow up on any of this. The "With Love" package should have been experienced as advertised and if they couldn't do that, I shouldn't have been charged for it at all. It changes your nightly room rate to a higher cost than what standard guests are paying. I still paid "extra" and didn't receive what I paid for.

I wish I knew the fella's name who worked the omelette station. YES! I said, omelette station! Although the hot breakfast buffet and omelette station has the same ingredients and menu- it can bore some. But, if you're not picky and don't mind the sausage links (some do get over cooked than others- LOL), house potatoes, biscuits and gravy... then you'll be fine. And ya'll can never go wrong with waffles! There toast, bagels, fresh fruit (apples & bananas). Yogurt, instant oatmeal, cold cereal options. I was so glad the gym had an elliptical machine. Although there's a TV- reception was good the first day and just pixelated the rest of the week. Not sure if it was due to the weather in the surrounding Nashville areas. Staff was friendly all the time- and it was great to receive a Welcome goodie bag when you check in! Even though we brought our swimwear- we never found the time to enjoy the pool. And then, I didn't realize until our last morning- there a real cute patio area next to the pool! Take advantage of the massage chairs in the lobby. Might wanna consider wearing socks when using it- and remove your shoes. Just be aware when using the Thai setting. Yikes! LOL The bed is firm- but, we did get used to it. $20/ parking fee. Well lit parking lot.

I could have afforded a band, but I'm actually so glad I didn't go with that option. I literally had NO stress on my wedding day. Is that even possible? These guys planned out the entire reception and took care of EVERYTHING. They made sure all my other vendors were on top of things and also got my very conservative family on the dance floor! Everyone had a blast and I could not be more thankful. If you're planning a wedding and debating between a band and a dj, trust a very satisfied bride and use Spangler!

From the ceremony music to cocktail hour music to the photo booth to the lighting to the nonstop party atmosphere created by the reception music, Spangler filled the venue with energy and excitement. Once the dance floor opened, the tables were empty because everyone wanted to be in on the action. Several guests even commented that they had been hesitant when they saw a 630 ceremony and a reception that lasted till well after midnight because they thought it would just be a long time, and when it was over, those same people commented that they wished the party lasted even longer because the night flew by. We wanted a party, and Spangler created an atmosphere that we only dreamed of having. Job well done!!!

If you're staying near the Opryland area, the General Jackson Showboat dinner and show experience…read moreare a solid way to pass one of your evenings. It's definitely a throwback to a different time in American history as you enjoy cruising down the Cumberland River on a restored paddle boat as you head to downtown Nashville and back while enjoying a buffet dinner and musical show. You're encouraged to arrive early to the boat when purchasing your ticket and for those that arrive early there is a live band performing on the very top deck....once it's time for the dinner and show you'll move below deck into the theater/main dining room. Everyone has a designated table. We were seated towards the back and I'm so glad we were because with how loud the audio was I couldn't imagine sitting at one of the closer tables to the stage. For your meal, you being with a Ceasar Salad course prior to each table lining up to go to one of the buffet stations set up on either side of the dining room. The buffet consisted of a variety of items including their take on brisket (no bbq sauce is available on the whole boat btw), Tuscan chicken, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and more. As you near the downtown area, the buffet area will be shut down so you can enjoy the downtown skyline views at night while the servers place your dessert at your table. Our night we had a toffee cheesecake (that tasted old and like the cardboard box it had been sitting in for who knows how long). As for the show it takes you on a journey through the years of popular music that came out of Music City - Nashville. It was a good way to pass your dinner. All in all - none of the pieces of this experience by themselves was a standout but combined it made for an enjoyable (and different) way to pass an evening in Nashville.
