We have visited nearly every bar on Broadway and like different ones for different reasons. Layla's is a favorite. Upstairs there are barstools with a ledge where you can look over to see the band. A fun crowd, great music, decently priced beer, VERY clean restroom.

Betty Rose and her band were so epic it's disgusting. We had so much fun! We left to wander after a while and ended up right back here! Betty Rose should be a staple!!! We love them so much and our bartender Rainy was also amazing!!!

Layla's was another recommended bar so we had to pop in when we walked by. And we also headed upstairs here, though it was just as packed as the first floor. Once we found a couple of seats at the bar, I was delighted to learn they serve a Layla's Light Beer for only $5! Of course this is what I ordered, and it was quite good. We stayed to enjoy the rest of this band's set, then headed back out into the madness of Broadway.

We had an amazing time visiting Laylas on Broadway. The music was amazing. People were dancing, singing along and were having a great time. The bartender that served me was great. Drinks were reasonably priced. $10 margaritas and $5 beers. We had seats right up front but sitting at the bar is another good option. I highly recommend visiting this gem. #JaciDefilippo (Singer)

Broadway is full of choices for music, drink and food. I'm a sucker for a little hole in the wall, a little divey and great music? Yes, please! Service was great! Band was interactive and talented (as is everyone here it seems). Love this was bought, owned and run by a woman (hence the name). In a man's world and one that continues to commercialize with huge names down the street, this is my kind of place!

Ready for some two steppin'? Here's the spot! Broadway is chock full of bars but the &5 Layla light lured us in! The music was awesome! Off the ccccchhhain... great fiddle player in this full, well rounded jammin band! Cool hang!

This place is absolutely amazing. 11 out of 10! The manager Gayle is incredible. She ensures a great experience for everyone! An absolute legend. Janet, one of the bartenders is an absolute rockstar. Customer service goes above and beyond. I truly appreciate this place and highly recommend. Thank you Layla's for always taking such good care of me and ALL your customers.

We did eat it was our first stop getting in Nashville and we had music on our mind! What a great vibe as soon as we walked in! We met "slash" with hat and he was great! Love the license plates on the ceiling with the history attached to them. Just a fun stop along the way!

Layla's is a gem on Broadway. Five dollar beers in the middle of the strip count me in. The music is fantastic and the vibe feels a little more local oriented than some of the bigger honky tonks. Let's just say hydration has never been this fun.

I'm 30 years old and have used this license without issue for years. When I asked what specifically was wrong with the ID, nobody could provide an explanation. Instead, staff consulted a manager and simply told me they would not be serving me. Meanwhile, the other members of my group, all around the same age and carrying valid IDs, were able to order drinks without issue. As an Asian customer, I left this establishment believing I was racially profiled. I was singled out, denied service despite presenting valid identification, and never given a legitimate explanation for why my ID was supposedly unacceptable. Since the incident, I have found multiple reviews from other customers of color describing experiences that raised similar concerns about profiling and disparate treatment. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. There are plenty of businesses in Nashville that can verify IDs without treating customers this way.

This time, we switched things up and hit it for lunch instead. Good call. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Todd was holding down the fort. The guy was outstanding. Drinks never sat empty, food came out smoothly, and he somehow managed to be attentive without hovering over us every five minutes asking if everything was okay. My wife started with the Nashville Margue, which goes down way too easy for something packing moonshine. Light, refreshing, and carrying enough kick to remind you you're in Tennessee. Then Todd introduced us to a Bloody Mary made with a new pickle-infused vodka. Now, that sounds like one of those ideas that should either be amazing or a complete disaster. Turns out it's amazing. My wife loved it so much she's already talking about coming back tomorrow for another one. For food, we started with the pretzels and beer cheese. Simple. Warm. Soft. Salty. Exactly what you want while settling into a Nashville afternoon. Nothing fancy, just done right. Then I went all in on the mac and cheese topped with Nashville hot chicken. Yee Haw. Creamy mac and cheese. Crispy chicken. That signature Nashville heat. Comfort food with a little attitude. Just the way it should be. The best thing about The Stillery is that it knows exactly what it is. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. No gimmicks. No trying too hard. Just a fun place to sit down, relax, and enjoy yourself. Fifteen trips to Nashville (together) and it's still one of our first stops. That's probably the strongest review I can give. Five stars.

The spot is in an old building in the middle of the entertainment district (Lower Broad area). It has a small outside seating area, for when it is not a sauna, Inside there is a nice sized bar, if you are just seeking a drink. They are known for their mac & cheese, which I have never tried in all of the times I have been to the Stillery. Very creamy, cheesy mac & cheese. The Nashville hot chicken has a nice spice to it. A bit mild for the serious hot chicken fans, but the flavor is there. The chicken tenders are fairly standard. And the crinkle fries are mid. I enjoyed both of the drinks. At $14.50, they are at least $1.50 less than the standard Broadway cocktails in the star bars, so iti s a less expensive option to get a drink. I don't think they ever have live music, unlike some others here, so you are going for the food, not the noise. Service was great, as always. The staff is always prompt and knows their menu. It is more bar food and the menu is limited, but what they do, they do well.

To prolong our stay, we ordered cheeseburgers and beer (fries and onion rings were extra) for brunch. I tried to interest folks in their $6 "Recession Special" - A grilled or fried bologna sandwich piled high, with a bag of potato chips, a Moon Pie, and a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer, but got no takers. We sat up on the balcony, which we had all to ourselves and with a nice view to the main floor below. Our waitresses were down home friendly, hard working, and good at what they were doing. There was no live music available at the time, but they did have a DJ which I thought was spinning the turntable rather well. It's my bad that I didn't also catch on that his is basically a Tequila Bar, rather than a more general craft cocktail establishment. Judging by the well stocked bar and the word of our waitress, other alcohol and their associated craft creations are available, but it's pretty much off menu and not well into our waitress' repertoire. And yes, Cinco de Mayo was just a few days away. One member of our party just wanted a soft drink, which was not possible that night as their CO2 was down. That did make me wonder whether the non-alcohol drinkers had much to chose from here. I suppose we could have then wandered over to the Redemption Bar at Chief's? Anyway, we're not Tequila Drinkers, and since other drink options appeared to be guesswork, we left towards more traditional mixed drinks (and live music) at a nearby Printers Alley bar. This was a rare night that I really wanted a craft cocktail in a smooth environment, and in the end it just wasn't the same.
