What a superb distilled, wine and beer emporium!!!! This is a unique, friendly, down to earth, complete distill and brew house. First of all - Doire distillery and Cask and Wine deserve a medal for their public service during the Covid pandemic. For many people and towns in New Hampshire, the shortage and scarcity of disinfectant agents took towns and first responders by surprise. Doire Distillery turned its production into disinfectant material to be distributed to localities in New Hampshire. For many localities in the state, Doire was a lifeline. They deserve thanks and praise. For me, I hope good karma follows them forever. We got here and proceeded to their distillery section, which is divided from the restaurant by a sliding partition. There was an impressive offering of on-site made distilled liquors and beer, "moonshine" whiskey, bourbon, tequila, rum, gin, IPAs, lager, you name it. We had a wonderful tasting of minute servings of about 12 different distilled liquors. All are superb. To clean the palate, we ordered home baked soft pretzels with a beer cheese dip. The pretzels were amazing, baked to order and steaming fresh. We bought several bottles of their selections to take home. The ambiance at the bar was genuinely chill, friendly, animated. The owner's beautiful dog, Chubacca, made the rounds acting like between a welcome wagon and a companion dog to everyone. There was lively conversation between the tables, it was like a group of friends together at the place. At 6 PM, we closed the tab at the bar and headed into the dining room for some of the best food we've had in a long time. It is worth mentioning that one of the most renowned party balloon artisans in the country, Joe Tombarello, was there just practicing his art at the restaurant, keeping the children amazed and happy. Upon hearing that we were celebrating our friend's birthday, he made an amazing balloon hat, reminiscing of the famous Princess Beatrice's "toilet seat" hat she wore at the Royal wedding. It commanded the attention of the entire restaurant. Our appetizers for six included a couple of orders of the Steak and Cheese Eggrolls, with a delicious cream cheese flavored filling. Then came the Braised Lamb Enpanadas, succulently flavored with a horseradish infused aioli. Finally, the General Gau's Arancini, chicken rice balls with Hoisin sauce flavor. We couldn't determine which of the appetizers were the best; they were all absolutely delicious. Then came time for main courses. Two of us had the Flat Iron Steak, accompanied by blue cheese fries and rosemary fig demiglace. Two had the Statler Chicken, finger-licking good. And two had the Butternut Squash Ravioli, a heavenly concoction with figs, basil and pomegranate filling and a sauce to call the heavens. For libations, cocktails and local wine were plentiful. Dinner was without a doubt, totally delicious. Memorable. Best way to celebrate a birthday. read more

Was so happy that the organizer of my book club chose Cask & Vine as the place for our December meeting. There were about 15 members. We chose our meals ahead of time. Our server, Joanie, did a magnificent job keeping our glasses of wine and beer full. She also made sure that our water glass were never empty! She was knowledgeable concerning both the beverages and the food. There are 12 draft beers to chose from and about 28 wines on tap. We ate our meals in the dining room and then moved to the back room for our discussion. Many of us, including me, had Vander Spell Book Risotto. It was delicious . The serving size was generous with a healthy dollop of pesto garnishing the top. Everyone at my table was pleased with their meal choices. Im looking forward to my next visit when I'll try Zuri's Zucchini Parmesan sandwich. I recommend Cask & Vine without hesitation. read more

We chose this place on a whim because it was close to where our child was being dropped off for a party. Based on the name alone, it sounded like it would be just a tad fancy, perfect for a short date night. It ended up being better than we'd imagined! The beer was lovely, and the steak tips and braised lamb were phenomenal. The best part was the check -- it was more than reasonable for a night out that included an appetizer, drinks, and dessert. We showed up at 8:56, kitchen closes at 9, and they still took our order at 9:04! Thank you for that because we were hungry. Mac and cheese was wonderful and fully topped off. Arancini balls were good size and perfect quality as well as nicely presently. Hummus plate was pretty typical of any place. No add-ins, just plain hummus with some veggies and chips. The goat cheese salad was not what I expected. Only having so much time to read the menu I did not realize it had egg and ham. It wasn't bad, I ate the whole thing, but I would have preferred less creamy dressing and the more typical add-ins such a goat cheese with a more sweet dressing. Wine flights were decent, but boy are the pours small. I'm afraid to see what a full class looks like. A little pricey, but I'll probably come back. Quality was there, but prices were a little scary on some things. read more

Wonderful establishment in downtown Derry! We've frequented this place only a couple of times--mostly because we have 2 kids and no babysitter (by choice). But when we steal away to come here, we're always happy we did. My husband will drop by to pick up a spirit too. We went to the distillery/brewery to get a flight and share some apps. First time here. Fun place. We arrived at 5:30. No wait, and we could sit where we wanted. It filled up fast. Lots of room at the bar and plenty of high top tables, which is where we sat. There is also a comfy couch and chair area. We couldn't help but notice that a fireplace (or even a faux heating element) was sorely lacking. We ordered red and white wine flights of 5 flavors each, which was a great idea, for sampling. Each glass had just a couple of sips though. Along with our wine we got the cheese tray which was very skimpy on the cheese, as there was only one very thin small slice of cheese each, of 4 flavors, so we had to share each slice. On that plate was also 2 small slices of a sausage type salami, a few olives some crackers - quantity far exceeded the 4 slices of cheese, and some grapes. A good variety, but definitely needs a couple more slices of cheese. We slso ordered the beet salad small plate, which was delicious, with nuts and cranberries on top, and the potatoes, which came with some sort of melted cheese, but were very bland. Will probably go back for dinner. Nice atmosphere and we were not rushed out. read more

My only suggestion would be that they should feature more cocktails with top shelf name brand liquors. Pleasant surprise. It's a neighbor bar with culinary treats. The curry lentil soup was spicy and hot. The beet salad excellent. We moved to NH in May of 2020 and rbis quickly has become our favorite restaurant. The food is always delicious, and the service is always great. When we walk in we're always greeted right away and with a friendliness that feels like we're visiting a friends home, not a restaurant. They have a great selection of beers, wine, and alcohol. They have their own brewery attached as well, which we've been dying to get to! We have never had a bad meal here. The meat & stuff is always delicious! We've also loved the chicken cordon bleu, blackened scallops, monte Christo sandwich, steak & cheese egg rolls, and so much more. We typically have tried to go on Tuesday for their Tequila Tuesday event. We also chose this restaurant for Valentine's Day this year and we were not disappointed! Stay away!!! We went and half of wife's food came out frozen and we were very nice about it. The waitress offered to bring me a free drink but I declined. We told her to please just let the Chef know in case anyone else ordered it. We had 6:30 dinner reservations and didn't even receive our meal for well over an hour. We watched other people that came in well after us finish their meals and leave before us. We were there for well over 2 hours. I let the chef know about this experience in which I was extremely nice until he insulted me with lies and he actually called me a Karen twice then commented on a $10 tip that I left on a $90 bill. The service that we received was terrible and she's lucky that we even left a tip. I know the place has some good reviews but I'm telling you this place is not worth it. read more

I've wanted to come here for the longest time and finally got the opportunity last weekend. Although our experience wasn't "bad", it wasn't what I was expecting. We came as a party of four with a reservation, arrived half an hour early and our table was available. The kitchen was backed up but this wasn't a problem for us as we were in no hurry. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Absolutely no qualms about the service as this was superb this night. I think the biggest complaint we had was that they were nearly out of everything we initially ordered. We arrived at 7PM so it was no where near the end of the night, but unfortunately we encountered this a lot. First with our appetizers, with the steak & cheese egg rolls, and later on with the entrees when they ran out of their fresh catch and meat and potatoes options, and then the Duck, Duck, Duck sandwich, which three out of our four person party ordered. Of what we could order, the food was well-prepared but lacking in seasoning. The couple we dined with ordered the stuffed grape leaves, which I did not try, and the Truffle Fingerling Potato Frites. The potatoes were not quite frites and were actually a little bland. We also ordered the Beer & Cheese dip, which I was not a fan of. The pretzel itself was good and came with a stout grain mustard so I was able to enjoy that. Our friends ordered the Pan Seared Duck Breast and the last Duck, Duck, Duck sandwich, which they seemed to enjoy. My husband and I both ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib. Both the preparation and quality of ingredients were very good, but unfortunately I would have liked a little more seasoning. There wasn't salt and pepper on the table and I didn't ask for any, even though I should have, but I felt bad for going back and forth with our server for everything we ordered and wanted to leave since we had been there for so long at this point. Other than that, their beer offerings were plentiful with many different styles, and even more wine choices. No problems there whatsoever. I know this review may sound bad but it wasn't a terrible experience. Decided to go to Cask & Vine for Mother's Day brunch after having a pleasant dining experience earlier in the Spring. Needless to say, my family and I didn't have the same high quality experience in fact is was very disappointing. The service was a brunch and much of the food on the line was over cooked in the steam trays. The scrambled eggs were dry for the same reason. To top it off the $23.50/plate cost was way over priced for what was served. Not to mention my wife was charged for her coffee in addition to the bunch fee. Very discouraged about the whole experience and never would have expected that given our initial dining experience. Goes to show you that once you establish a high level of dining, you have to maintain focus and attention to detail in these situations to keep in that way. Not sure if we will return. read more

My husband and I go to the Cask & Vine about once a week. The atmosphere is wonderful and very relaxing. The music is low, and the lighting is perfect. The staff are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. There is always something new on tap. It is so nice for Derry to have such a wonderful place in town. My husband and I know that we can't just spend a half an hour there to grab a "quick drink". Every time we go we end up being there for over two hours. We can't help but get sucked into the ambiance. We started off with some drinks and their beer selection was interesting so I was able to try a few different brews. We then were ready to order an app so we asked for the poutine listed as a special. Sorry, all out of poutine. Ok, we ordered the pretzel and cheese dip, which was very tasty. Next, we order dinner. I'll have the pecan chicken...sorry, all out of chicken. Really? On a Wednesday night with no crowd? I switched to a bison burger and asked the fig jam be put on the side, which came out slathered in the bun. It was just ok. The total bill for two of us came to about $100. Seemed kind of pricy for not being able to order what you wanted, and the food was decent, but not amazing. This is one of those places I instantly wished I had visited earlier on, and their story on the cover of Beer Advocate seems well deserved. Located in downtown Derry beside the rail trail, Cask And Vine is a more upscale experience than your average craft brew bar. Soft lighting and a quiet atmosphere gives the place a warmth that is very relaxing. It's a place you can have a conversation in! I value that in an restaurant. The beer and wine selection is stellar and is the foundation of Cask And Vine. In an age where restaurants and bars are trying to cram as many taps as possible into their establishment, Cask And Vine opts to instead have a highly curated selection of about a dozen beers on tap, several of which are local or regional. The beer menu is a classy one sheet with nice, terse descriptions of each brew that will want to make you taste them all. The wine selection looked very good, as well, but I did not get a chance to check it out. The food menu sports a nice variety of options from flatbreads and soups to smoked trout and braised pork cheeks. I had the pork cheeks and they were fantastic. The portions are on the smaller side, but that's just an excuse to fill up on more delicious beer. And to top it all off, I met the owners a couple of days after my first visit and they are very nice and knowledgable people. I hope to become a regular at Cask and Vine. read more

I'm going to go out on a limb and hand them five stars, even though I've just been here the once. I will go back again and again, as often as I can get to Derry, NH. A friend and I came in not knowing what to expect after using the Yelp mobile app to find a place to eat lunch in the area. The room is cozy and a little dark, with plenty of tables and a long bar. On tap are nothing but Dogfish Head and Shipyard offerings, including many of the deeper cuts from their albums. I had the Rosabi, a delicious Imperial Pale Ale made with wasabi. Really good. The Turkey and Brie sandwich is among the best things I've ever eaten. We shared it and the Duck, Duck Goose - a duck breast, duck bacon and duck confit sandwich with Jarlsberg and foie gras mayo spread. Delicious and surprisingly light. This has been my favorite restaurant for years now, since it opened 4 or 5 years ago. Seasonal menu with stuff like lobster in the summer, fiddleheads in the spring, squash soups in the fall, etc. This stuff is mainly delivered from local vendors/farms in the afternoons, it doesn't get any fresher. The highlight for me is the beer selection. Always changing. Verticals of your favorites, stuff that is literally not available anywhere else. Theme weeks and months dedicated to breweries (Founders this month) or beer types (Sours - Sour de Mayo). This is closely followed by some great menu items. I recommend the pretzel with cheese, crab cake anything, steak and cheese egg rolls, trout sandwich, turkey and brie, any of the flatbreads, any poutine, any sliders. The soups are always fantastic! Sometime I switch over to wine, tons of great options by the glass from some lesser known wineries. And you can top it off with some rum, scotch, gin (sippers). I have literally eaten here almost weekly for 5 years. At least 200 meals and not one has been subpar. Not one! Not the place you want to go to if you want to watch TV, have a Bud Lite, a mixed drink, or traditional pub fare. A good place for a quiet, un-rushed night with some super rare beer. And I am glad I finally remembered to write this! Kudos to the wait staff, always willing to make a recommendation, good service. read more
