After talking to the ladies at the front it took 5 minutes of sitting outside before I was given a menu for water and Sprite (drowning water flavor), at which point the menu flew in my face and flew away, after that I ordered a burger with soup of the day and ordered a Coors beer, I looked it up and saw that this bar was never there. A Truly Fantastic Experience Thanks to Our Server We've been coming here for years because the steak tips are absolutely unbeatable, but I'll be honest -- the service in the past has been hit or miss. That's why our experience this time was such a breath of fresh air. I don't write alot of reviews but this was one I couldn't pass up. Our server Secret was phenomenal. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, she managed to be both attentive and genuinely warm the entire time. She checked on us at the perfect moments, never rushed us, and somehow made us feel like we were her top priority despite juggling a full restaurant alone. That level of professionalism and energy is rare, and it completely elevated our night. The steak tips were, as always, incredible, and the espresso martinis were spot-on -- but the star of the evening was our server. Her attentive, upbeat, and downright impressive service is exactly what this place has been needing. She turned what is normally a "we come for the food" visit into a truly memorable dining experience. I don't know. I've been maybe 3-4x. All I ever get is the chili cheese dogs w tots. I love them. Service was ok. One cool thing. My kid almost immediately changed his mind on his drink. I went to look for our server but she was deep in the kitchen. Someone at a table recognized this and offered help. I was picking up a takeout order & when I arrived they told me it'd be a few more minutes. I waited 15 minutes & asked what the wait time was. I was told a few more minutes again. I waited a total of 40 minutes, canceled the order & walked out. Every waitress I spoke to also came off very hostile. Made me wonder why I was treated with hostility as being the only person of color in the room, while the rest of the customers were treated with smiles & laughs. Food for thought. read more

Me and my girlfriend stopped by after hearing great things. We got the mozzarella sticks to start and those were delicious, very nice cheese pull. Also they were a good size. Then for my meal I got the Porky Pig dawg that had mac n Cheese and bacon on top of a hot dog. This was very good, tho I'm surprised that it seemed like it was just Kraft mac n Cheese on top, and not homemade mac n Cheese. Probably would have been better with homemade mac n Cheese but the Kraft mac n Cheese made it so it wasnt as filling. The waffle fries on the side were very tasty, nice seasoning and crispness. My gf got the haddock sandwich and she seemed to really like that, along with tater tots. She said the tater tots had a weird spice to them, maybe pepper or something but still said they were pretty good. Service was very nice and quick, immediately as we walked in a couple people greeted us and told us we could pick anywhere to sit. Just tried for the first time, and wanted to write a review right away. I'm giving them for 4 stars because our server, Nikki, was friendly, offered great suggestions, and was accommodating with a couple of dietary requests. When I could not decide between two wing flavors, she offered to do half of each. The drink I had was excellent. The environment had a nice feel. As for the food. My wings were not great. They had no flavor and were a bit dry. My husband said the sauce on his pizza was bland. My Brussels sprouts were delicious, though! A bit of inconsistency there. I would go back and give it another try because the service and drinks were top notch, just wish the food was a bit more flavorful and imaginative. I don't remember how many years it's been since I was last able to submit a new business to Yelp's attention. But in the case of Hare Of The Dawg, that time has arrived. Upon check-in, I noticed I couldn't find this place at all. That's because (according to my bestie) this place only just opened about a week ago. So, this place is literally a week old as I'm typing this review. I'll start this off by saying...I am humbled to have the privilege of being the first person to talk about this place, let alone add a new listing to Yelp. We're talking about a new restaurant in my home town. The town I grew up in. It's like....life coming full circle for me, I guess. So, anyways...the food.. Wings: they were the first thing that came to mind for me because of just how incredible they were! Most places you go don't even bother to season the wings and rely to heavily on the sauce. Hare goes that extra mile by providing that additional layer of flavor they know customers deserve. The wings themselves were nice and juicy as well. Wifey had no complaints, sooo....10 out of 10, would recommend. Truffle fries: Honestly, I thought these would be better. Instead, they tasted as if they were seasoned by someone who was very nervous about dressing them with too much truffle oil. They barely tasted of truffle and the parmesan was bigger than I'm used to. Typically, you go shredded, but it's not a hard rule. Anyway, 6 out of 10; use more truffle oil and a dash of salt, guys. Swiss Boomer: OMG! This thing. This thing....should be the epitome example of how to properly cook a burger. I mean, not only was this burger seasoned to perfection; it's uncanny to realize the juiciness of the meat remained, even though they never asked how we wanted them cooked. Yes--despite them apparently being cooked only one way (mid-well), they still come out juicy and tender. And the aioli sauce is to die for! The top bun being somehow cold AND toasted was a bit odd. But I'd definitely recommend everyone try this one. 9 out of 10, would do it again. I wanted to try their French onion soup, but they were all out. One thing you should know about the truffle fries, though: evidently, you cannot substitute them from the regular fries that come with, say, a burger. I don't know why. But that's how they have it arranged. Oh, one other thing I should probably mention is how terrible the parking situation is. Sure, you've got the parallel parking on the sides of the road (if you're up for that). But if you happen to go BEHIND the building, good luck. It's so cramp back there, I felt like I was Austin Powers in that one scene with the golf cart (you know the one). And my car is pretty small, so....that should tell you something. Anywho, they're a new local business and they're from my home town. I'd recommend them to....basically everyone. And I have no doubt they'll continue to improve their menu along the way. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but otherwise service was relatively fast. The place has charming decor, lots of paintings of dogs. It's very casual as well and has a bar in the center of the room. It was a little noisy at first but quieted down after the lunch rush passed. They were having an appetizer special for chicken wings, which we ordered. It was supposed to have 8 wings, and they gave us 11! The wings were nice and juicy and they gave us plenty of dipping sauce (we chose honey mustard, which was tasty). The wings themselves could've used a little more seasoning, maybe some sort of mild dry rub, but otherwise they were excellent. For our main meal, I ordered the BLT on white bread and my husband had the reuben on rye. My BLT was one of the best BLTs I've ever had. The bacon was thick cut and cooked so that it was still soft but had a nice crisp. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and there was just the right amount of mayo. I would've eaten the whole thing had I not filled up on wings! My husband loved his sandwich too. All of this was very affordable too, only about $35 before tip. While I wouldn't expect a casual restaurant to be expensive, our meals were very good quality, particularly considering the price. We will definitely be back! read more

A great new bar and restaurant in town. The atmosphere and staff were excellent. Large bar, maybe 24 seats and a bunch of high tops. Open kitchen as well so you can see everything going on. Right now small menu, but I prefer that for a new place. Do a few things really well instead of trying to feed the world and it is mediocre. We ordered the buffalo chicken tenders appetizer. Definitely fresh, well battered and cooked perfectly. They were really tender. A couple came in small pieces but it didn't matter because they were good. Ordered the Southern Fried chicken sandwich to go and that was good as well. Obviously it was cooled by the time we made it home. Chicken was crispy and the fries appear to be homemade. Drinks decent but a little on the expensive side. Parking was tough but the place is worth it. Hopefully they succeed! read more

I give credit to the owner for replying and addressing my issues but I never called him out in person. My husband and I review places honestly and not looking for anything comped (but thank you!). Your queso dip and chips are the things dreams are made of, your pizza is amazing and the Reuben, OMG. I love supporting local businesses and I apologize for not updating my review sooner. I'd give higher than 5 stars if I could. Shoutout to the older man bartender (no offense he's my age too lol), I think his name is Russ. Classy guy and perfect drink every time. lunch recently, a sort of bar like place in downtown derry, big bar with a lot of booths and tables around, open kitchen, nothing fancy here....service was pleasant and the drinks interesting and well made, the food was excellent, we had the meatloaf with 2 sides and a burger, both very good and reasonabley priced, heck I got 2 sides with the meat loaf , a caesar salad and sweet potato fried, very good...liked it here, good service and good food!! read more

Popped in here for lunch this afternoon and it did not disappoint. Nice bar with an attentive staff. Started with the steak and cheese egg rolls which were very good. My girlfriend had the lobster roll, I am not a fan of lobster so I did not try it but there was not a crumb of it left on the plate so she enjoyed it. I had the southern burger. It was delightful, good cook on the burger, lots of bacon and jalapeños, and crispy fries. Everything a growing 40 year old boy needs. First and foremost. My rating is based off of previous visits to "this establishment". Customer service has always been good. Attentive. Aware. Kind. Interactive. So I'll call last night a one off. But unfortunately one that will most likely keep us away, if not for good, for a long time. Food. We have some all time favorites that have been consistently great on previous visits and the reason why we chose this place last night. The Buffalo wings are 10/10 solid! Big, juicy, & flavorful. The nachos are unreal and both portions are huge, full of ingredients, flavorful, and a serious treat. Some all time other favorites are the southern burger, Mozarella sticks, and surprisingly the chicken parm. Unfortunately all things we were looking forward to last night we did not get to have. Drinks... I was really looking forward to the Newfinitini or however you spell it. Last night... let's talk about that. They were busy. I was happy for them. The crowd was a wide range of just drinkers and socialization and people looking to eat. It did not appear they were understaffed. We had what was quoted to be a ten minute wait. It ended up being closer to 25. All good. We get it. When the table cleared. The young girl working the front was being juggled between greeting other new guests and getting the table ready for us. All while the owner showed face and sat with some friends. Again, we understand. Sometimes this is your only time to socialize with your supporters and friends. Now for the part that chapped our back side. We sat for 25+ minutes without being acknowledged. Once. All while the owner sat at the table behind us with friends. One of which was vastly inappropriate and so loud I almost said something, not nice. So we decided, all good, we aren't staying. We are all hungry. So we did. Quietly and quick. The owner followed claiming he was "the owner of the establishment".. my significant other isn't as forgiving. I just offered a short explanation as to why we walked out (not even a drink order placed). It's sad. This day and age. This is the crap that make or break a business. I'm happy our other visits were great. But I do not believe we will make it back there because of the distasteful way last night was handled. read more

We were looking forward to eating here, but were extremely disappointed. We arrived at 5:30. The couple we were with received their meal about 7PM. She had ordered a BLT with sweet potato fries, but this had regular fries. My wife received her BLT about 15 minutes later. She had ordered regular fries, but received sweet potato fries. The waitress told them to just swap the sandwiches. Of course, by then the regular fries were cold. I ordered a hamburger medium well with fries. My order came about 2 hours after I ordered. It was a cheeseburger with bacon and no fries. I sent it back. next I got a cheeseburger with fries. I sent this back. The third try was a burger with one little piece of onion. Instead of medium well, the burger was raw. I think they passed it over the grill for less than a minute. Not a great experience. Normally, I would have asked to see the manager, but the place was very busy and loud. I just paid the bill and left. read more

Menu options are limited and they were out of some options but food was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the home made chips. I got the Swiss burger and my partner in crime got the Reuben. We went for dinner tonight. The mozzarella sticks are delicious, nice and crispy. I got the chili hotdogs because my cousin's husband said they're good. While the bun was delicious, the hotdog was tiny! My cousin was shocked because they were much bigger when her husband got them. I asked the server if they're always this small. She didn't know, thought maybe they changed with the menu! The haddock sandwich was good and the pizza was okay. Others have complained about their inconsistency but I'm okay with giving them a shot. So, this restaurant was recommended to us by our adult boys. We went there on a Saturday night. The place is clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The menu really has something for everyone. The atmosphere is chill, not uptight at all. Great specialty drink menu and beer on draft. Drinks and food arrived without delay. The food was well presented and reasonable sized portions. Fried pickles and the Brussels sprouts as appetizers were awesome. All the food was very well prepared and tasty.
