I relied on Caspi's "service area" map which is included in its Yelp profile. Caspi's map shows my home well within Caspi's service area. I relied on this and contacted the company, only to be told that Caspi does not service my area. They need to get the map fixed so customers are not misled. They charge an extra fee to travel - Everyone does of course. For an extra fee they'd go to Wyoming for a job! By Caspi's logic, the entire WORLD is their "service area," for an extra fee. He responded in less than 10 minutes of me placing a query via Yelp. He advised he would be able to come the next day (Saturday). He came on time and finished the cabinet adjustment to enable my new refrigerator to die in the bespoke cabinetry (done in 1994). We had to trim about 1/8th inch or 3/16th off an existing wood trim. He completed the work (removal, trim, stain) within about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was a little worried during the assessment at the start but am very pleased with the completed project. read more

Working with Murad and his team was a nightmare - sloppy work and unprofessional. This review is long overdue because the experience was so bad I wanted to forget about it. This was a prime example of "you get what you pay for." He gave the lowest price for several projects - removing popcorn ceiling, painting the whole house, new flooring, installing a pocket door, and recessed lighting - because he does amateur-quality work. To his credit, his team worked hard and the electrical work was passable. However, he left my house a complete mess since the workspace wasn't covered up properly. There was dust and paint splatter all over my floor, counters, and furniture. I spent hours cleaning up after him. The paint job was terrible - streaky, dripping, peeling, and you could still see the original paint color. They shouldn't have taken the job since they were clearly not qualified. I worked with a professional painter a few months later and the difference was night and day - impeccable work and my place was left spotless. I repeatedly pointed out issues to Murad and he said he would personally inspect the work. Unfortunately, he was much more eager to ask for money than he was to fix issues. At one point, he threatened to quit with the project half-finished. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional for bigger projects. read more

We had a lot of things we needed fixed ranging from small scratches and holes in our drywall, putting up a bunch of art work, installing a new toilet paper holder, fixing calking, paint touch ups etc. Elmar (I think that's how you spell it!) did a superb job and was super detail oriented and patient. I am very lucky to work with Caspi Handyman! They came to my house for free estimate on the weekend and gave me the best quote! The project started in the following work day, they brought all the material and went over the project with me in the beginning. In the middle of work, they found my stairs and spindle is rotted, they offer to fix it, this took longer than our original discussed project but they did a very nice job and beyond my expectation! I also asked they to caulk all my sidings, this is very tedious job, but they treated very seriously, they remove all the old caulking and put on new one. I had Ali and his crew come over for 2 different jobs, drywall installation and door casings. His estimates were competitive for the door casing but expensive for the drywall. Altogether, it seems pretty reasonable, and I hired them based on yelp review. First of all, the drywall install went pretty well. However thing couldn't get worse with the door casing. It was very unprofessional. There were misunderstanding with the scope of the job (partially my bad), but the more problematic part was that the quote turned from including material to labor only. He came around 10pm and started working on it around noon. The job was planned to finish the job by 7pm, but they couldn't, and had to wrap up unfinished at 8:30pm. They continued to make noise with saw and nail guns after 7pm, which I refused to continue in consideration of my neighbors and city code. Worst part was that the job was extremely sloppy as it got later into the evening, and the crew seemed to be eyeballing most of the measurement. Nothing was clean and flush, they didn't patch damaged part of the drywall (damage was done by demo guys) before installing the trims. When I told the crew that wall patching was included in the scope of work, he replied it's not his problem... When I argued it to Ali, he got pretty upset, and told me he wouldn't receive anything for the door casing. I didn't want him to feel I was extorting his team, I just wanted to point out the unprofessionalism. So it suggested paying him the 75% of the original quote (excluding added materials) which he agreed. Yelpers here might have had a good experience with Caspi handyman, but not me. Maybe I was unlucky to hire them and they were unlucky to have me as a client. Ali, if you're reading this I don't want you to feel bad about this review. It was not about the money but the quality. I was willing to pay for the extra material as long as the job was good. But the qualities were too bad in my standards and I didn't want my home to sit on a job done like this. We got Caspi Handyman to renovate our closets. We ordered some shelving and closet systems from Home Depot. Their job was to remove old shelving from our current closet, put the new shelving in, and change the doors to mirror doors. They did an excellent job. Firstly, they are very responsive over text. They came by one evening and really took the time to understand what we wanted. They picked all the supplies up. They were thorough and clean in their work. They taped down paper where they would walk, cleaned up after the construction, and took care of all the garbage. They went through the trouble of painting over any blemishes from removing the old shelves. They even accommodated our request of some extra shelves with no extra charge. Pricewise, I think they were a little on the higher side, but you get what you pay for. With other handymen, either I have to get involved, or they don't do a perfect job, or they're not responsive about scheduling, etc. With Caspi, I had no such trouble. I value quality work and having a hassle-free experience. Overall, I highly recommend them, and will definitely call them for further home renovation tasks. read more

I had previously booked handymen in the past and it was a bit of a nightmare. Some tried to take a project and make up things to make it work, quote a price that was much different later, or make an appointment and wouldn't show, or even call. I put a bid out and Caspi responded. Murade came to the house early. I had four can lights in the kitchen with electrical issues and a dimmer light switch out. Long story short, Murade not only got lights working but switched them out for LEDs. And switch out the dimmer switch that actually works better now. After reading many reviews, and seeking other quotes, I reached out to Caspi Handyman. I needed my three (3) bathrooms textured and painted bright white because the house was old - and it showed. They were responsive, and came out the next day to provide an estimate. The quote was reasonable and included everything (other quotes I had gotten did not include painting!) They started the project the very next morning, and never stopped until the project of texturing and painting was complete, often working until 6 or 7 pm. When I asked them for an extra side task, they did not hesitate. The entire project I've been wanting to do for 5 years, was completed in 4 days - including a half day devoted to cleaning and finishing touches.
